WDW Commando Club

I've been playing with ideas for our June off site trip, I haven't stayed off site in a while, so it's going to be a whole different type of plan:eek:

We have our resturants we would like to go to for dinner picked out
- T-Rex Cafe (I know I can walk right in around 3-4pm:banana:
- House Of Blues (still have to find out what time they open, and if I need to make ressies:confused3)

- Schula's (do you make ressies through WDW or with them direct:confused3)
- WCC
- Teppen Edo

If I remember right I have to call and make these since I wouldn't have a Reservation Comfirmation # because we will be off site:confused3

Since we will be driving in I'm going to try to avoid the main Parking lot (T & T) since Epcot is open till 10, I think we will have less traffic exiting from there, since I know my way around the Transportation system I am confident we can breeze through and go the less crowded exit from the parks:rolleyes1

EMH's This trip I have to avoid them, have to wait and see what the Park Hours are:confused3

I heard a rumor that Test Track will be in Refurb form Easter till Sept, If this is the case I will have like a extra 6 hrs of park time, my son will not be a happy camper though:scared1:

I find myself in a unusual dilemma, next year we are trying to get together 2 trips to WDW:yay: 1 will be a normal trip & 1 on the fly and off site:confused3

the two weeks we are looking at are 6/23-6/30 & 11/3-11/10:confused3

As of now I'm thinking the June trip will be the Off site trip, this is my reasoning:confused3

My wife and son want to go to LegoLand, in Nov it will be dark by 5 and I don't know what kind of hours they will be open:confused3

I priced the Autotrain for a round trip it would be $1168, now if we only went down to FL it would be $385 (have no idea why it's like 2.5 more coming home:confused3), but since it light out longer I would suffer with the drive home (stopping over night) With gas, food and a hotel I would still be saving $400:yay: I'm not a big fan of night travel, so if I'm going to drive a far distance it will be during the day:eek:
Reality check:eek:

Per Legoland Florida's website there are several days in Nov it will be closed (11/01 and 11/02). (11/08, 11/09, 11/15, 11/16) (11/29 and 11/30). Other than those days they will be open 10 to 5. That is November 2011. Is it this year you were thinking of?

And tkts for age 13 plus are $75/day.

I know that I wasn't the only one who had problems during Gay Days. Maybe if more people complained, DL guest relations will do something about it rather trying to placate all who were offended by what we encountered that weekend. If nothing else they could tell the group to tone it down, as it's a family based entertainment. What puzzles me is that I had no problems on my SOLO trip last year during Gay Days, so it's possible that those who were there the prev year thought it was OK to get more touchy/feely this year. What's done is done, and it's now up to DL guest relations on how Gay Days is handled next year. Hopefully better than how it was handled this year. I probably will receive something back from them over the next couple of weeks, but what it is who knows. I'm not concerned, as I've got other things on my plate to deal with that are of a higher priority than DL at the moment.

Sounds Great, What is the theme going to be:confused3

Red shirts with black Mickey heads. We are going to wear them to MK. Sorry for the late response. 39 days to go:thumbsup2

I keep analyzing the plan to make sure that my in laws have plenty of opps to rest, but that we don't miss out on the must do's. As with all experiences they have good and not so good. And although we normally go at a faster pace, this opportunity to spend time with them is priceless.

My MIL said the best on skype yesterday. The chance to see Disney through a childs eyes is what she looks forward to the most!

Time to get caught up:eek: had a no PC week, turned out to be a loose wire in the hard drive:yay: I'm glad my friend was able to fix it, my wife was ready to get a Apple Macintosh:scared1::lmao:

OH OH I wanna be a Commando!!! I love to plan every detail of our trips!!!

:welcome: You are member #176:cool1: Do you have a upcoming trip planned:confused3

Can you get more commando than me???

:welcome: You are member #177:cool1: Once I get caught up I have to read your TR:goodvibes, looking at the title I would have to say you are a extreme Commando like myself:goodvibes

It will be in 2012 but Thanks for the info:goodvibes

So far I have $10 off coupons for next year:woohoo:

BUT this is what I hope happens:confused3

We hold Busch parks platnium passes (all parks Seseme Place, Busch Gardens, Seaworld, plus water parks included with unlimited visits), since Legoland is owned by Merlin, who's parent company is The Blackstone Group (who owns all the Busch properties) So what I hope is that they will include Legoland in tha package to bring up visitor count:confused3

Only Time will tell if they will do it:confused3

They also own 1/2 of Universial (looking to sell there share, which can speed up the Marvel rights to Disney, if they don't sell to the other 1/2 owner Comcast:rolleyes1)

I'd love to see them when they are done:woohoo:

I agree with your MIL:rolleyes1, Every trip to WDW is planned around my son, I can plan all I want, but he is the real reason we are there, so if he wants to try something not on the plan, who am I to say No:confused3, Touring Disney through my son's eyes keeps me young:banana:. Once we are there my job is The Make It Happen Guy:goodvibes

Sorry to hear that you had computer problems this week, and am glad your computer is healthy again. My DH was royally PO'D at our internet provider on Friday, as he was 6 hrs into an online course, when the internet crashed he lost all that he was working on. Our internet provider fixed the problem, but he had to go back in and completely redo the online course that he was working on the next day.
I really do hope for your sake that the Busch parks add Legoland to their pass system. It really makes sense if they are all owned by the same company, that they add Legoland into their current package. Let's hope that they do it in the coming months. I've been a bit sick with a double bug, but the antibiotics I'm on have managed to get rid of both of them so I'm feeling somewhat human again. Have a great day!

Trish:upsidedow

I'll post a pic of us all with them on.

All of my planning is so everyone will have an enjoyable time. We want to see as much as possible without having everyone crash out in the room at 7pm.

Has anyone heard of the new FP system for parades they are testing out:confused3

Seems like CM's are handing out passes to view the afternoon parade in the MK for viewing areas like the Castle Hub:confused3

Now in my case this is useless, no way am I watching a parade anywhere near there:scared1: This is the area I avoid at all cost:lmao: way too crowded, I like to be able to have a quick getaway after a parade:confused3

Funny thing is that for some this will be the greatest thing since sliced bread:scared1:

I read a link to it. My DW and her parents are huge parade fans so they would jump all over this. I think the test ends before we get there....at least I hope so :scared1:

I would like to see some kind of FP system, or well thought out plan for the buses after the park closes, I have a bunch of ideas on how to do something like this, but in the downfall the only feedback they would get is those who want to complain about it, and would ruin it for everybody else:rolleyes1

You are probably right. I see the advantage of doing them for a show or fireworks though. For some people those are major highlights of their visit.

i am going to attempt to do it this year...last year i had not a clue what was going on, it was our first trip as adults and i had only ever been to MK and that was for one day. Soooooo i have DH DD and DS and we are going to plow through this year. Neither child wants to nap EVER at home, so here is to hoping that is the same way with our trip this year. last year DS was 7 months and would sleep on the run, he has turned into a little nosey bottom now so i doubt that will happen this year...but again here is to hoping! :) I can't get to crazy thought cause DH holds the key to going ever again! BAHAHAH

:welcome: You are member #178:cool1: DH holds the key on ever going again:rolleyes1, This calls for something special, something that only Daddy can do:confused3 maybe a Father & Son haircut at The Harmony Barbershop (depending on how much hair they both have:confused3), Even if your DS is not ready for a haircut, DH could take your DD in to get some Mickey Dust in her hair:cool1:

It's little things like this that can lead to many trips:woohoo:

I am loving this thread. I showed it to DBF and said "See, I am not the only one." He got a kick out of it. He and I are off to WDW for his first time. Without the kids. :) I have all our ADRs. I have two spreadsheets, one for our trip and the other for F&W booths and strategy. I have never been to F&W and am sooo excited. We will only be there for the last two days of F&W--the last Sat. and Sun, Nov. 12-13--so strategy is key.;) It has been three years since I went with my kids and I forgot just how "comando" I can be. I am enjoying every minute of it though.:rotfl:
