WDW Commando Club

I'd love to be a WDW Commando if I'm not too late..

and count me in to help Debbie in any way I can! :flower3:

:welcome: Not too late at all, You are member #165:cool1:

I would love to help, but my trip starts Tuesday, is that OK? I would love to see the "WDW Document of Secrets" before we go! What is it?

I'm down to help any way that I can!!! :thumbsup2

I'll let Debbie know tonite that we are off to a good start putting together members who would like to help:yay:

1st thing I recommend, even if you already have a copy of the Documents (since it's updated all the time) is get a new copy:goodvibes

How to request the Documents:confused3

The Best & easiest way is to send Debbie a PM
Her DisBoard name is ---- Dcanoli
Remember to include your email addy, so she can send it to you:thumbsup2
It will come to your email addy in 2 parts
I must warn you, it might be in index card form (I don't know how my wife does it, but it can be changed to regular form), also when you go to print, make sure you have a good supply of ink & paper, it's alot of info.

csmommy - not to put you in a panic:lmao:, but I think your trip next week is going to get alot more interesting:rolleyes1

PS when you send for the Documents, let Debbie know you are a WDW Commando and would like to help cleaning up the Documents:thumbsup2:goodvibes

I'm working on the best way for everyone to relay all the info dirrectly to Debbie, without making it confusing:eek:

I just got done printing out the Documents:yay:

I had my wife change the format from index cards to full page:goodvibes

Just to give anyone who doesn't know how large this file is:confused3

Part 1 was 28 pages
Part 2 was 23 pages

:magnify:

I really would like to get a copy of it from Debbie, but don't feel right about it, since our WDW trip won't be till Christmas 2014 (at least I'm hoping that's when it's going to be). This D@@##$@M DL trip the end of Sept has set me back saving for a few months, and this could mean the difference between Dec/14 and Aug/15:duck::duck:. We'll just see how it goes. I have to have a min amount of money in my savings account by the end of 2013 in order to plan the WDW trip. Having seen DL during Halloween time over the past 2 years, has me seriously hankering for a Christmastime trip to WDW to experience it first hand. Otherwise I'd be more than willing to help out a fellow DISer. Have a great day!

:wizard: 4 Days to Go!!!!! I'm starting to get a little crazy...packing, planning and obsessing about our ADRs and park plans. I'm going with my DD (adult) who just spent a day in DL and emailed that she's looking forward to lots of pool time in WDW...hmmmmm  This is SO against my nature not to be in the parks as much as possible!!! This should be interesting.....

So any WDW Commando or Dis Dad Member who would like to help Debbie clean up the list please post, and I'll get Debbie to come to the thread to give futher info (what we are looking for, info how to get post, contact etc)

I myself will be helping Debbie anyway I can, Anything worth doing is worth doing right:goodvibes

I hope between the WDW Commandos and the Dis Dads we can form a hell of a Team:goodvibes

I can help! Sent you a PM. :thumbsup2

I've PM'd Debbie for the document, and am eager to see what goodies it has inside. Forgot to budget for greyhound sitters for the WDW trip, as our current sitter is going to be too elderly then to deal with the hounds. Told DH since I'm the saver of the two of us, the kennel expenses are his mess. Will check into the greyhound rescue group we belong to closer to the trip to get some advice for a good dog sitter locally for our furkids. Have a great evening everyone!

At 1 day, that's like returning to the Fast Pass line 10 minutes early:scared1: That 10 mins goes so slow:rolleyes1

Got the doc from Debbie last weekend! :cool1: But I haven't had very much time to read through it :sad1: I've only read the first few pages but I can't wait to get to the rest!! :thumbsup2

I received it yesterday, and all I can say is WOW!!!! I've read a little of it, but all I can say is that Debbie did an incredible job in compiling the info, and as far as I'm concerned it blows any other book on WDW out of the water completely. I can't wait to finish reading it, and plan on reading it many times in the coming months, as the info is fascinating.

Glad you guys got the documents:banana: As you can see this will not be a easy task, but should be alot of fun, learning along the way:goodvibes

Just looking over the park hours again (last checked 2 weeks ago) and once again WDW snuck in a couple of more touring hrs:yay: HS on the EMH night was till 12am now its 1am:woohoo:, And MK EMH night was till 1am now its till 2am:woohoo:

Suddenly my wife's idea of a few hours down time in the peak of the afternoon heat is sounding pretty good:confused3, we get the most done in the night during EMH's, when it's cooler and alot of people go back to the resorts for the night :woohoo:

Someone mentioned about tipping mousekeeping awhile back, I don't like to forget anyone, and will admit I've never done it, but I had no idea:confused3

So with that what do you tip mousekeeping:confused3

We do a dollar per person, and put it in an envelope with Mousekeeping on it. We do this every morning, because there maybe different Mousekeepers during our stay. At every hotel we stay at we leave a tip for housekeeping.

Hi Commandos!

How have I missed this thread for so many years? I am gonna have to carve out some time over the next couple of weeks and catch up with you guys!

My name is Debbie (a.k.a. dcanoli) here on the disboards and twitter.

So many of you have written me for a hard copy of the Disney's Best Kept Secrets thread, and I thank you so much!

You gotta know that I am way too OCD, and I originally made the document for myself to take into the Parks and try and find all the things people were listing!

It has just grown from there, and now, it is a massive two Word documents.

(I had to break it into documents because MS won't mail it as one! It's too big!)

I've tried over the years to organize the document into Parks and then into specific areas and even tried to alphabetize it once or twice. (See, OCD...)

However, the document is many, many years old right now, and a lot of the stuff in it simply isn't true anymore...as you know, Disney is a "living" organism, and it constantly changes.

So, if you guys EVER find anything in our document that is no longer right, drop me a quick line and let me know so I can delete the information.

I am so, so appreciative of your fearless leader and all of you for requesting the document and helping me keep it going!

I can't tell you how much that means! I'm looking forward to "meeting" each of you one day in the future!

Deb

sadly I have to be the plan maker. My hubby is a very go with the flow relaxed kinda guy, and with no availability for restaurants by 30 days out, I kinda have to take the reins.
I pack the bags, pick out the clothes, and plan our days accordingly. many times I've tried to get help but he so clever he says things like "you are so good at this babe, I dont wanna mes up yur perfect planning" I fall for it everytime....so I plan out our stratedgy and make my lists and all that...this upcoming trip we are going no kids so other than ADRs we have no plans :scared1:

Parks opening to closing each day. All meals planned and parks too! Park Hopper so when one park closes we are off to which ever one is still open. Our room is strictly for sleeping!:disrocks:

RFrank9504 my DH is the exact same way. I do all the saving (even though I'm a stay at home mom), and all the planning for the trips. He doesn't start asking info about the upcoming trip until around 4 to 6 weeks before we leave. So I do all the research, plotting, planning, saving, and packing (but I will draw the line at packing his suitcase, that's his job). Then once the trip starts I step back and let him do all the stressing over it and have a relaxing vacation. I've done this for the past 3 trips to DL, and he relies on me to do this for every trip we go on, even if it's a weekend going to our other property in the Gulf Islands.
