WDW Commando Club

I was going over some of my notes and placing the ADR's in there proper time slots, this year we are trying a few new places:goodvibes

12/5 - Boatwright Dining Hall 5pm
12/6- Whispering Canyon 5pm
12/7 - Cape May Cafe 9am / Doing Seaworld then DTD T-rex Cafe for dinner
12/8- Olivia's 8:30pm (AK open late, always wanted to do AK at nite)
12/9- Chef Mickey's 5pm
12/10- Le Ceillar 8:20pm (at 180 days was the best I could get:confused3)
12/11- Park Fare Breakfast (Love this breakfast) 8am

I tried to get a big bang for the buck since, this week the FDP is blacked out (had to pay for it:headache:)

What do you think:confused3

I forgot where you are staying and whether you'll have a car. The only sit-down in a park is LeCellier. I love everything you have planned for the 7th. Yeah, I could see all of the resort hopping around since you'll be able to check out the Christmas decor. Okay, I'm with you now.

The LeCellier bothers me. You don't want to miss Illuminations with the Holiday Tag. There are so many cool things to see and do at night during December. I'm not sure that I would want to miss it because i was eating. Try for an earlier dinner at Chefs De France or at Tutto Italia.

Boatright and Olivia's isn't anything particularly exciting. You could combine those two credits and go somewhere WOW! Also gives you more time to meander around and grab CS when it strikes you. I'd go to a signature restaurant.

How about on the 8th go to Boma over at the AKL. You can see their gorgeous resort and Christmas tree. Just throwing ideas out there.

I agree that you don't want to miss Illuminations with the holiday fireworks immediately after the regular show. It is awesome and will really inspire you with the narration, if they still do that.

We just got back last week and highly recommend the character meal at Akershaus (sp?) Norway. I had avoided it for years since it is a Princess dinner and we have teen boys. However,, we plunged in and I will say it is the best character meal we have ever had. Lots of food choices off the menu and all you can eat salads, appetizers. The princess just doted on my DS's calling them "princes" and came over to our table multiple times. One of my DS's name is Eric and when Ariel came over and started talking to him about his name was the same as her boyfriend's, wow did he ever light up and blush. We were not rushed at all.

I will say our greatest disappointment with character meals was at Chef Mickey's. The food was just so-so for dinner and the characters really rushed through all the tables. If we got 15 seconds with each character that was a lot. And the tables were half empty, so it wasn't crowded. Then the last one, Pluto, I think, left the dining hall after the table before ours and never came back! We told the hostess, but she just shrugged it off. We won't be going there again if I can help it.

Hi everybody!

I'm knee deep in resumes, looking for 4 more employees to hire before Wednesday. Can I do it? Heck yeah! I can, simply because of one reason. On Thursday, I have a date to become a princess once again.

I really hate that I have missed so many days on the boards - the DIS is my sanity break. Cards are laminated, clothes are on my bed to be packed after I sort the resumes, and my phone is updated with ADR info.

Before I get back to the grind, I just have to say how wonderful it is to be able to share my love for the World with so many people. My work friends just don't understand. :(

I'm leaving on Thursday too! We'll be there until Monday. I can't wait to go, these 3 days at work are going to drag by. Thank goodness that I can read disboards here to make time go by a little quicker...

WoW, my DW out of nowhere said we are going to WDW 1st week of Nov 2011, I had to ask why:confused3. She said that Legoland will be opening in the fall of 2011. Not going to get a arguement from me, I know a win, win when I see it:cool1:

We will be staying at All Star Movies, Coming in via the Autotrain, will have car with us (well mini van:lmao:)

I am going to keep trying to get a better time for Le Ceilliar, I've never been there, and since it will be a Sig next year, this is my chance to get it in, since it is on a Fri nite, we sould have already of seen Illuminations (I try to get parades & fireworks in ASAP, just in case:woohoo:)

Family of fussy eaters, hard to agree on alot of places, I'm steak and potatos, she leans toward chicken, fish(only a couple of kinds) or spanish:scared1:

I know it seems like I'm bounceing around with the ADR's but hitting a 5pm service it becomes a great time to hit a different park to break up the day:goodvibes

Gotcha! :thumbsup2 I'm the same way too with making sure I see fireworks, etc. at the beginning of the trip. You never know what will happen later on in your trip.

The first time we went to Disney was in '99. We had monsoon rain rain everyday. The last day we were there it was beautiful weather and we were spending the day at the MK. We scoped out a spot to watch the parade and fireworks from the train station platform a good hour to hour and half before hand. Perfect seats! Ten minutes before it was to begin, the sky's opened up and dumped. We ran to the bus and were soaked thru to the skin. We didn't see the parade or fireworks until our next trip which was a "do-over" trip. ('cause we know that no one ever goes to Disney more than once. ;)) The "do-over" trip started our addiction.

Chef Mickey's is one that I'd be willing to change, The main reason we are going again this year is, that last year my DW said our ADR was at 4 we got their and it was at 5 when they reopened, so we checked out the sights at the Contemp for awhile, Had no idea that they had a opening ceromony with the 1st family in line:scared1: In a way I owe it to my son, since it would have been us (won't happen a 2nd time):goodvibes

I agree it was not that great, only reason why we are going is to try to regain a little magic for my son, I feel really bad that we missed it, but knowing is half the battle:cool1:

We have been trying to catch Fantasmic for the last 3 years, twice it was pouring, last year everything was going as planned, 1 small flaw:scared1: I printed the parade and firework schedule and from when I did to that day they changed it, they did Wishes at MK instaed of Fantasmic:scared1: When we got to the gate for Fantasmic we were not the only ones, I now make sure I check the schedule that you get at the gate against what I have down:woohoo:

My cell phone plan ends Oct 1st, with Verizon. What kind of phone would I need to get in order to get all the WDW stuff:confused3 I would like to keep Verizon (get a huge discount from work:cool1:).

My wife is the one who wants the phone, for me it is useless since I still don't know how to text:lmao::rotfl:

Fellow commandos, please help me figure out what to do. I screwed up and wrote down the wrong time for MSEP, and now I don't think we'll make it after dinner ADRs. I'm not sure where else to fit it in either... Here's my current plan:

9/2 arrive around 11am-ish
Online check-in for hotel done, pick up keys
Head to Epcot for CS lunch and meander around the world
Biergarten ADR at 5:30
Head to DHS after dinner, do a few things
Fantasmic at 10pm

9/3
ADR at Tusker House 8:20
Spend day at AK - maybe catch parade?
If leave AK early, hit DTD for an hour for shopping
Hop to Epcot
Les Chefs de France ADR at 7:30
Catch at least part of Illuminations if out of dinner on time
Hang in Epcot for EMH

9/4
DHS for am EMH
Spend day at park until "done"
Kouzzina ADR at 9:00pm
Hang at Boardwalk or head to City Walk for birthday celebration/girls' night out!

9/5
MK for rope drop/redeem GAD FP
Catch parade
Back to hotel
'Ohana ADR at 7:35
Miss MSEP! but catch Wishes
Hang in MK for EMH

9/6
Whatever park we want to head back to
Leave hotel for airport around 2pm

So what would you do? We have the regular dining plan, so I don't want to cancel 'Ohana and not have something else to fill it with... I'm unable to even check the ADR website here at work because our Internet Explorer is too old, so I'll have to wait until 6 tonight to look! :scared1: Or should I leave everything as is and miss MSEP? I've never seen it before and I don't think my DBFF has either...

What time is MSEP, do they do it everyday:confused3
You can keep calling to see if any earlier ressies pop up due to a cancellation:goodvibes

Maybe you and Amiee can catch up somewhere along the trip, even if it's just for a handshake:goodvibes

MSEP is at 9, I think they're having it 3 out of our 4 nights, but I couldn't figure out what to switch it with...

So I talked to my BFF that I'm traveling with last night and we agreed that the crowds on Sunday at MK will probably be pretty bad. So we're keeping our dinner reservation and will watch Wishes from the Poly beach. Then we'll head back into the park for PM EMH and hope that the crowd thins out around 10:30ish...

I haven't seen MSEP since I was a kid, I guess I can always watch it on you tube. :lmao: I guess they're expecting more people for labor day weekend, they added a second fantasmic show on Thursday evening (tomorrow)! :scared1:

Amiee, if you're still hanging on the boards before your trip, see my itinerary in post 410 and let me know if our paths should cross one of those days! I'll have a LGMH hanging off my purse and my DBFF and I will be wearing our "30th birthday princess" buttons and acting like 5 year olds! :rotfl:

To get the official Disney app from Verizon, you'll need a phone that has "Get it Now" or "Media Center enabled phones" This what I got when I tried to download it on my Blackberry which doesn't have those. On my Blackberry, I bought the WDW Maps app, I like this a lot. My daughter has an IPhone and she has a lot of Disney apps she loaded and brags about.

Good luck choosing.

Have A GREAT Trip Amiee & jmm476 can't wait to hear all about it when you get back:goodvibes

How many apps do they have:confused3 & how do they charge for the apps (monthly, one time, yearly:confused3)

On the Verizon Official app, it is something like 9.99 for 6 months, I think you need to buy again after that. On the WDW maps app I bought it was a one time buy of 2.99. I don't know what the charges are for the IPhone apps.:confused3
