WDW Commando Club

For parking since we will be staying offsite ,Both my wife and I agree on this plan

Whatever park we will be at in the evening is where we will park, and then take transportation to whatever morning park we will be going to, this way in case we get out late we know we can get to the car no problem, plus the walk will not be far since we will be there before rope drop:confused3

I got my rough plan done for now for next months trip, For a recap, we are staying offsite and have 4 day hoppers, and of course all meals are out of pocket, so this is what I got, I'll post 2 days worth tonight

Day 1

Around 10:30 give or take we should be at the timeshare, check in, unload car, and change.
- 12 noon what to be at Gatorland by then they close at 6

- 7pm be at T-rex Cafe for dinner

- After dinner catch a bus to the Contemporary head to the dock for the Electric Water Pagent at 9:15

- Catch bus back to DTD and head back to resort

Day 2

8am- park at HS catch a bus to MK (this way we don't have to backtrack at night back to car)
Ride Main Street vehicles and meet Main street characters till rope drop

9am - rope drop, will be standing by Casey's to make a quick left to Adventure & Frontierland, 1st ride Thunder Mountain , grabbing a FP for Splash Mountain on the way, Then ride Splash Mountain, POTC, Jungle Cruise & Aladins Magic Carpets, hope to have this done by 10:30, head over to Space ranger spin wait in line, then get FP for Space Mountain, at 11:40 we have to head over to the Harmony Barbershop for our 12noon ressie and hope the Dapper Dans show up (haven't let me down yet:thumbsup2)

After haircut hopefully FP for SM will be in the time zone, ride SM and hit the speedway and Monsters Inc, Then head to The Tiki Room (hopefully can arrange it that Hunter gets to wake up Michael and start the show again:woohoo:), if there is still time before the parade we will see Country Bears Jambore, watch parade by Country Bears.

After Parade hit the train see if I can arrange to have Hunter as the conductor to get his Conductor card:cool1: Get off at the gate get on a bus and go to Whispering Canyon for a 5pm ADR

After dinner we will catch a bus over to HS, it is a EMH there, we are not staying onsite so we will stay as long as we can, at least we can hit the stores after 9, don't really have a plan we will just get done what we can, we will not be seeing Fantasmic so we should be able to get quite a bit done:confused3

This is a rough plan, when it closer and I have show & meet & greet times in hand it will probably change a little bit, most of all it depends on any spur of the moment opportunities that we run in to:good vibes

Without reading all 129 pages (my apologies) I clicked on the tread because I was kinda shocked that someone made a thread about going commando at Disney. :rotfl: I'm sure I not the first to make that mistake, Sometimes I really wonder where my head is ;)

The only part I don't like is the early Splash Mountain ride, because I don't want to get wet that early in AM. We did that route one year, but we held our FP (that you no longer can do) until we wanted to cool off with the water in the middle of the day. Darn FP enforcement.

Not really liking the news that evening EMH's will only be 2hrs instead of 3 starting in Jan 2013:eek: During a week that can be like 4 or 5 hrs of park time lost:furious:

Rough plan continued,

Day 3

- 8am parking at Epcot taking bus to HS
- 9am rope drop, will be meeting up with Brian (twokids0204) & Barry (FreezinRafiki) & their families and all the kids together will bring balance to the force when they defeat Darth Vader or Darth Maul at Jedi Trainning:yoda:, would like to get 1st show, so this will be the main focus:thumbsup2, once everyone is on line for signups and if it looks like we will get 1st show, as long as we are on the same page we should go get FP's for TSM, by the time we get there return times will be after 1st show, go back and meet up at Star Tours and ride:chewy: By this time it should be getting close to 1st show, providing we have that one:confused3,

I'll have to check with the guy's before I list anymore of the HS plan, to see where everyone stands on it:confused3

2pm- Heading to Epcot, going right to World Showcase to catch some shows, before our 4pm ADR for Teppen Edo, after dinner we will tour WS for more shows till about 7pm then will do attractions in the main part of Epcot, mostly rides since we will be seeing the fireworks the following night, from past visits the lines do not exist around firework time:cool1:

Since they have EMH's that night and we are offsite, we will head back to the WS and shop the countries until it's time to leave:woohoo:

Day 4

- 8am parking at Epcot, taking bus to AK, this is not a really good move since they have a am EMH, but we have to get the park done, so the plan is to be at 9am opening hit Dinosaur 1st, then get a FP for EE, go to the Nemo show, ride EE, if not time yet or after EE, go see Flights of Wonder.
Then go see Lion King , do some meet and greets, and it's tough to be a bug.

Will be leaving at 3:30 (will be back at rope drop Day 6) heading for Swan & Dolphin for a 5pm ADR at Shula's (really looking forward to this one), For myself I already know I will order the 32oz prime rib::yes::

After Dinner we will walk the Boardwalk and head over to Epcot and get whatever we still need to get done, done:cool1:, we will see Illuminations and then head back to Resort:cool2:

/
Day 5

- 9am be at SeaWorld to catch bus to Busch Gardens, not sure of any kind of plan yet, haven't been there since I was like 10:confused3

-6pm catch bus back to SeaWorld and will stay there till park closes

Day 6

- 8am Parking at Main lot tickets & transportation, catch bus to AK

-9am rope drop will head to the Kilamajorgo Safari 1st followed by trails, then do anything else we still need to do

-For Dinner we visit and tour AOA and eat in the food court
- After dinner heading to MK, will do anything we still need to do, watch night parade over by the shooting gallery, watch the fireworks in front of the CP at the fence line. since there is a EMH stay and do shopping and get something to eat

Day 6
- check out
- Go to Aquaticia till around 12, then get ready to meet the train
- sometime during the train ride back will be meeting up with Chris (clear screen) for drinks in the Bar Car:thumbsup2

Then I have 78days till I get to do it all over:cool1:

Did find some info on the Too Small to Ride Cards, They are called Tall Enough to Ride Cards, I found a list of rides that have or had them, still have not seen one.:confused3

-Star Tours
-TOT
-Space Mountain
-Rockin Roll Coaster
- Dinosaur
-BTMR
-TT
-EE
-Mission Space
-Soarin
-Kali River Rapids
-Tomorrowland Speedway
-Stitch's Great Escape

So with this list I now know where to look for them to see if they exist or if this was something they once did:confused3

8am- park at HS catch a bus to MK (this way we don't have to backtrack at night back to car)
Ride Main Street vehicles and meet Main street characters till rope drop

9am - rope drop

Question on the above - how are you able to ride Main St. vehicles before rope drop? When I've been to rope drop at MK, they keep you behind the turnstiles, did something change?

I might have the time messed up, but what I'm talking about is after the little welcome show at the castle that I call escape from the hub, where they let you into the lands:lmao:

I'm not sure if it still even happens, I know they did away with it at HS for a while, but I don't know if it is still like that or they went back to the old way, or if any of the other parks did away with or changed it:confused3

Commando #1,
We have decided to go west this fall as opposed to east (from TX), so we're going to be going to DL! Have you ever been? And, I think your plan about parking at your evening park is brilliant.

I have never been to DL (don't fly:lmao:), I know a lot of other Commandos have been there:thumbsup2

Gotcha, thanks. I've never noticed any vehicles during the "escape from the hub" (I like that, hope you don't mind if I use it) but then again, I'm always staring at the castle and not seeing much else at that point.

Even though I've never been to WDW I would have to consider my self a commando. Anything I go to like an amusement park, state fair, or Renaissance Fair I have to be there at the opening and there until close. I plan on doing the same at WDW with a touring plan laid out. In fact, I already made a touring plan for a contest at a different site.

Last year we watched the fireworks from directly behind the castle, in the general vicinity of the carousel - not sure if the Carousel has moved due to the Fantasyland expansion. We found this to be a great location as we were not crowded and there were very few obstructions - we did however have to look back and forth a few times, but we were well rewarded. Whatever you decide, have a great vacation. Happy Planning!!:cheer2::cheer2:

:welcome: You are member #205:cool1:, Even though you have never been to WDW you are taking the bull by the horns and trying to come up with a solid plan, this is something most 1st timers do not do, you will not be a deer in headlights not knowing what to do, instead you will be struck with awe:thumbsup2

They have a contest for touring plans:confused3, with prizes:confused3, I hope you win if you need any help I'm sure your fellow Commandos would be happy to help you out:good vibes, I'm sure a lot of us on this thread would most likely be disqualified:lmao:

I have seen the fireworks from this spot and I have to agree with you, some are right above you it's a awesome sight, now on a lot of threads people would disagree with you since the front of the castle is not in play:confused3

The only thing about this spot is that I get distracted by the short lines or no lines on the nearby rides:lmao: I would much rather see the fireworks in this spot then trying to watch them at the incubator known as the hub:thumbsup2

When we go in October, I like the fireworks from the (bench) seats on the bridge to Tomorrow Land. You are a little to the side of the castle, but those seats are rarely taken and we can snag them 15 minutes before the fireworks start. I'd rather keep riding rides all the way up to it instead of having to fight for my seat space for an hour. Of course, the best place is the TOTWL, but on an EM night, I'm not sure I would want to walk all the way back there and then re-enter the park going opposite the herd.

Thanks for the welcome. My parent's never had a ton of money so when I was growing up going to Disneyland or even the local amusement park was a huge deal so we always opened and closed the park. Even at Disneyland my sister and I had what you would call a touring plan. To me its the only way to go.
