Anyone got any pros and cons on CBR or POresort - which is better for getting about WDW/Downtown Disney, etc., which areas or each is best.

Any info would be much appreciated, thanks.

:sunny: Hi

We have stayed at both, CBR in 2002 and POFQ in 2004. The rooms in both are virtually the same except for decor. Each has bocks of rooms with external balconies. CBR is much more spread out, set around a lake. It can be a long (but pleasant) walk to the food court area some people even drive round or take the bus. POFQ is much more compact nothing is far away and it has a lounge bar of an evening :goodvibes.

If you stay at POFQ or POR you can use the facillities of each. At PO you can catch either the bus or boat to DTD, the bus takes 10mins the boat about 25mins. The bus from CBR is about 10mins also. Both are generally well positioned for all the parks and are not rearly far from each other.

We enjoyed both but would go back to POFQ ;)

Have a good time wherever you choose. Check out www.allears.com They have good discriptions and photos of each.

I have not stayed at either but from what I've read you cannot go wrong with either :)

I am staying at CBR for 1 night in August - will this be before you go? I am happy to report back but I think Charley has covered off everything!

I think CBR has slightly larger rooms as it was the first Moderate resort (they downsized for PO,POFQ & CoS).

I've stayed in both POR and CBR and would vote for POR for a couple of reasons:

The boat trip to Downtown Disney is a great 'extra'
We preferred the food court at POR
POR lounge bar + entertainment

Having said that, I would be very happy to return to CBR or POR, so would agree that you can't go wrong with either! ;)

I would recomend por weve stayed there twice and it will be our third time this year. the resort is peaceful and spacious but also easy to get around and close to all the parks. hope this helps.

Thanks everyone for the info, DH and DD (10) had the final say and so we're off to CBR!! Me and DS (7) are just excited its Disney!!!

As far as facilities go there is no real difference between the two hotels, either would be a great choice. The only real difference is in the ambiance of the hotels. CBR is laid out as a group of "villages" grouped around a central lake or "lagoon" it feels nearer to a condo style village development than a usual hotel does , PO perhaps has a more regular "hotel/resort" feel to it and is certainly more compact, but that doesn't mean it feels cramped. I wouldn't say either is better because of their particular slant, just they give the guest a slightly different experience.

For travelling to WDW themeparks there is nothing to choose between the two. PO offers water taxis to DTD which is probably a slight plus to it's offering.

I'm sure you will love the hotel and the kids will feel very pleased to have had an input into your choice.
