Cable at WDW is the worst. I get better stuff on the over the air antenna. I can't be the only one that feels that way. I don't need TV during the day, but in the morning and at night, it would be nice to have something other than the silly Disney channels to watch. Well, I've taken charge and will have a Satellite setup starting next week, I hope. So Disney, take your cable and..........

Wonder if I get a rebate if I don't use the Fort's cable?

I agree. We tried using the satellite but couldn't get a good signal because of the trees.

HA! What I find comical is before they did all the upgrades at the Fort, you could only get CATV on the then preferred loops. So, we changed to satellite service way back in the 90's so we could take our TV channels with us when we went to the Fort. Back then, it was next to impossible to get a clear shot due to all the trees. If you had an in-roof dish - fuggetaboutit!! It was not uncommon to see portable dishes scattered all over the place. It was also a real PITA to try and site the portable dish in, and you would make darned sure you weighted it with gallon water jugs so the wind wouldn't knock it over (or mean people).

Now...they've clear out so many trees that you can get a good aim on just about any site, but they've installed CATV on every site, too! IMO, free WiFi would be more valuable to me than their pitiful free CATV - but - they have a captive audience with the cable. I'm willing to bet a lot of people do things they weren't planning on doing originally, due to the brainwashing you get with the Disney cable.

I agree. Wi-Fi would be great. We stayed in 300 in the past and could get the satellite signal--ours is on the roof. Last year we were in 500 and couldn't get it either. We just don't bother anymore. I'm all for wi-fi which we all know will never happen.

Migicbus WDW cable is the worst there is 100 channels all about Disney there is no CNN or Fox. For our last stay we only hooked it up for the Internet we used over the air because we could get HD

We have a portable dish (DIRECT TV) and have never had a problem at the FORT. Doesn't take much of a hole in the trees to get a signal.

For you Sat aficionados buy one of these:

I was parked in a CG in Wis under heavy trees and found the "hole".

I put up the antenna and as long as I can get a local station with weather, I'm happy.

Uhh oh, what have I done?

Maybe I'll be ok after all.

And no Speed TV either.

I'm feeling optimistic again.

The whole cable TV thing is way out of hand. I even got rid of it at home. They kept increasing the fee and putting on more home shopping and spanish channels. I put an amplified antenna on the roof and I get 35 high def channels now and it's FREE! I have been camping at places where I couldn't get any channels on the antenna, so I read, sit under the awning and converse with my wife, walk the dog.....

Heck, I kind of like the "silly" Disney channels. I only get to see them once a year if I'm lucky. :)

At my DH's request, we got ATTUverse at home and replaced Direct TV. I could take my DTV box with me in the MH and watch at the fort and get all the ESPN channels my heart desires when we had DTV. (which during football season, is essential in our household) ATT is not on my favorite person list because of their deterioration of their service during the past month and I am not confident I will be continuing with them past the 6 month introductory package they gave us. I am not fond of the channels you get with Disney either, however my DS would tend to disagree with me wholeheartedly. There is just so much of it that I can stand. So, I guess this fall he can watch the Disney junk in the MH and I will watch my DTV on the TV under the awning or on the big blow up screen at the Fort. To each his own I guess. :happytv:

I don't read books, small attention span. And I can't sit for any length of time so I converse with the dog and walk the wife.

Ya, I probably get just a little bit more Disney stuff in the course of a year than you.

At my DH's request
That'll teach you.

or on the big blow up screen at the Fort.
Where's that located

which during football season, is essential in our household.
Tell me about it. At a certain time of the year when college football, pro football, baseball, and Nascar are all going, I set up 4 TVs in the living room. Doesn't get any better than that.

The big blow up screen is located directly behind where my camper is parked. It is Mickey ears shaped at the top and 14 feet high. It is stored in my MH. It shows Auburn games first and foremost. All other games must take a message and get in line!:lmao:

My DH is a technogeek. He is going to be over ruled come the end of August on this ATT thing. The internet is nice, but everything else is the pits.

Thank you Jenn for the info on ATT Uverse I was thinking of switching. Now we have an Att DTV package and I don’t know if new boxes that use 3 LNB converts dish will work with my old single LNB convert dish I have for the RV and I don’t want to take the one from the house

I like the disney cable. Its brain washing effect that only disney exist is the experience we are paying for. We enjoy it. I don't need real life on vacation.

My problem with Uverse is that they are having the same problem with pixels that DTV has when it rains, except there is no rain. It started with the HD unit in our family room about a month ago and now has spread to our other room and it also has spread to all parts of the day. I asked some people at church if they were having the same problem that live near us, and low and behold, yes, they are. I don't know if it is the new fiber optics that they put in or what, but I do know that it is damned annoying to miss every other word that someone is saying because of the pixels coming in and out and the sun is shining brightly in the sky.

I agree,,year after year we go to Disney and they show the SAME CARTOONS OVER and OVER on their cable !!
I would feel different if they'd at least change out the cartoons ! I know Disney has made more than 15 cartoons over the years !

I find this funny, Who in the world would go to Disney and watch TV
