I am going to be posting a very long trip report on the trip boards in the next few days but just wanted to give my opinon of BWV.

This was our 1st time staying here we had a 1bdrm "standard view" unit 4010 - I have read many posts about bed bugs rude CM's dirty units etc... And was becoming a little apprehensive about our upcoming stay but was still very excited about staying at the BW area.

Well our unit was spotless!!! not a bug to be found!! and step out on to the deck - WOW!! this is standard view? directly across form the SWAN hotel diagonally across from the Dolphin - beautiful canal view - you could watch the Friendship boats go by - but the BEST PART perfect view of Tower of Terror!! you could also see the top of the Sorcery's hat and part of RnRC and the back of the "mountain" at Fantasmic - you could also here Fantasmic from the deck and see the higher FW of the show and you could also see the Mickey ears water tower! Still can't figure out why it was standard?

And about those rude CM's at BW - they must have all been on vacation when we were there - all we encountered were polite helpful smiling folks and received numerous WELCOME HOMES - not one sour puss in the whole stay!

Crowds - I expected the worse - either we are just getting used to WDW or the crowds were really not so bad. Anyways I'll post more details of our trip on the trip boards in a few days.

BWV is GREAT!! it is now tied w/OKW as my favorites!

Hey, Sue - looking forward to more details. We found the same things true on our recent 1st stay at BW. Re: Cast Members - I think we had the smoothest, most cordial check in we've ever had.

Pleased to hear that your non-BW view was so stellar, too. Sounds to me you got major bang for your buck (points.)

Thanks for sharing - your experience with the CMs as well as the room (spotless and no bugs) could have described our experience at the BWV every time and we've stayed in standard view rooms many times since 1999.

Glad you had such a good time - looking forward to your trip report. We aren't visiting again until December and those trip reports help me make it through!

Best wishes -

Spotless ? No bugs ? Not even a piece of a bug the vacuum cleaner missed ? How about soap scum...... there had to be soap scum. And the dishes & glasses, how many were missing, chipped or dirty. Did you sprain you ankle schlepping back to your room after parking a mile away ?

Come on... give us something to work with. We haven't had a good BWV bash in awhile.

So glad it was a terrific trip! I don't doubt that people sometimes have problems. However, we can easily get ourselves worked up worrying that disaster has befallen Disney and our once wonderful resorts now resemble slums. And then don't we feel silly when we get "home" and all is well? Guess it's just human nature to worry -- I've fallen into that trap myself in the past.

I'm so glad you had a nice trip! We got back to Michigan on July 7 after 10 days at OKW and BWV, and the people couldn't have been nicer. In fact, when we checked into BWV there were no cheelchairs available, which is not a good thing after abdominal surgery on June 10. So my DD went up to the manager and asked if he could get a wheelchair from somewhere else. He immediately sent a runner to Epcot, and I had my wheelchair for our entire stay(no charge, of course). We were very happy, especially since 3 nights at CBR in March ruined our trip--they locked up our wheelchair, had no key to open the room where it was stored, and made us go and get it ourselves when they finally did find the key, 8 hours later.   I always knew that BWV was great, and this confirms it!:D

Yasuern,

I will be corrected if wrong, but I believe you were upgraded to a non-BW preferred view. Anything canal/MGM view is considered a preferred view....I think!

Anyway, glad you had a great trip!

Brian.

My family and I stayed in a very similar view room in September 2002 at the BWV and it was considered standard view. Not sure if it was the same side of the building, though. We could see the parking lot and it seems like some of the other hotels. Sounds like you got a good view, maybe it was an upgrade?

You make it sound so wonderful! December will be our first BWV stay!

I can't wait to read the rest of your story!

Yasuern,

We were in a standard view room, 4006, a couple of weeks ago and had the same view-it was outstanding!!! Glad you enjoyed your trip.

KellyDVC...I was corrected with the same assumption a few weeks ago. Evidently there are some rooms as described which are called standard view.

I think the view is partially blocked by another building or something? In any event, apparently there are a handful of canal view rooms that are classified as standard.

I am glad that you had a great trip. I am looking forward to our next trip there in August, 2005.

Glad you had a great BWV stay. We thought we had a great std view when we went, sounds like yours was awesome!

Thank you for posting about BWV and your trip!:)

Yes - these rooms are near the waterfront of the building - not by the entryway - and they look out into the building that I think had DVC related stuff in it. The upper floor rooms would be high enough to look over it. I've read that the build would be taken down after DVC leaves, but that was unconfirmed I believe.

Thanks for posting about your trip and glad your BWV experience was great. Sometimes the few and far between negatives can overshadow what a really wonderful job everyone does at WDW. We should all learn from that - be concerned that the negatives are corrected - but understand that they are NOT the norm.

Glad you had a great time! I always love to hear a good report from our favorite spot in the "world".

I can't believe people complained about bed bugs and rude cm's. I own at BWV and one of the things that makes me never regret buying here is the spotless accomodations, the "never a bad view" from the balconies, and the amazingly helpful cm's. I once had a bit of a wait at the buses, it was raining, and my
DD and I were late for character breakfast at GF. The CM at the bus stop was amazing, called GF for us, spoke to the dining room and explained why we were late, and had them tell the party we were meeting we were on our way, then he called the buses to actually pinpoint where they were and how long they would be! He really took the stress of rushing away with his friendly patience and helpful manner. One year my DD and her friend that accompanied us on the trip both got stomach viruses the first night we were there, and we in bed the whole next day. We called the manager in the middle of the night (for clean bed sheets, towels and garbage bags). He came to the room himself! Not only did he bring us whatever we needed/asked for (no extra charge) but he helped us expedite a call to member services to get an extra night on points added to our vacation since we lost the first night and following day, and he comped us all park tickets for the extra day we added. All of my experiences here have been great, Disney service all the way. I want more points at BWV! :)

My DW and I were just talking today about the nice "standard" view that we got at BWV a couple of years ago. It sounds very similar to yours - canal boats, Swan & Dolphin, etc. It was neat seeing the lights dim on the Swan and Dolphin just before Fantasmic started. Even neater when our kids were at Fantasmic a few nights later and saw the lights dim - "We can see that from our room!".
