We will be going to Florida in May and staying onsite at Universal - but want to meet up with some friends staying at WDW for a birthday meal.

As we are offsite - can anyone suggest one of the WDW hotels/areas that offers a good quality buffet meal so it keeps all tastes happy?
We like Boardwalk but not sure if any buffets available.

Thanks
CJ

Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge is amazing, and has something for everyone. Go to www.allears.net and click on dining for all the resort menus to help you out.

We have done several Disney trips and have eaten at many of the restaurants. We are often there on one of our children's birthdays and always have fun celebrating it at Chef Mickey's. The atmosphere is a real party :woohoo: . You can order a cake ahead of time and have Mickey or one of the other characters there bring it right to your table. The buffet is great with lots of variety, even prime rib on the dinner buffet. Since it is in the Contemporary, you do not have to have park admission to eat here, but it can be tough to get a ADR. If you are planning on being in Magic Kingdom, Crystal Palace is the Pooh Character buffet. Also very good! Have fun!:cool1:

Another vote for Boma's. The food is great, and you get the added bonus of being able to enjoy the wonderful Animal Kingdom Lodge for a while.

Even though I have not eaten at Boma I plan to on our next trip while staying at the AKL.

I do have a question, isn't AKL a gated resort. Meaning you have to have a guest pass to get through? If this is the case, it would be difficult for non-disney guests to come to AKL to eat there. I'm not sure how that would work.

The alternative would be park at DTD and hop on a bus to AKL.

Just a thought.:)

my fave is 1900 park fare best food in buffets there is to me.

All of the resorts are, technically, gated. But, that's basically just to slow you down! Anyone can go in to eat.
I have eaten both the breakfast buffet at Cape May and enjoyed it very much, has characters. WE have also eaten dinner there..it's a 'clambake' style meal.
Also love Boma..the food there is out of this world. Chef Mickeys is fun also and has characters. Those three are all in resorts so you don't have to worry about park admission. And Cape May is right there, across the lake from Boardwalk..you could walk over after dinner.

we enjoyed every buffet in WDW so far...
we have had

CP bkfst
PF dinner
CM dinner

and even Garden Grill which is actually a family style all you can eat...

we love all WDW food!! My fav for food was PF and my fav for fun was CM.
