WDW blockout dates over the holidays?

Hi! Glendale CM here considering an Orlando trip with extended family from 12/25-1/4. Does anybody have any insight into which dates/parks are usually blocked out during this time frame?

Also, I understand I can extend the 50% hotel discount (if it's available) to family staying the same dates as me? Do they need to be staying at the same hotel? Can I just book online or do I need to call in for this?

There is usually one or 2 parks available during that time and it is AK and Hollywood Studios. You may also find dates for Epcot. Magic Kingdom is usually blocked out but comp tickets can be used. You must stay at the same resort to get the cast member rate but you can use the friends and family rate for them if you are not staying at the same resort. If you are booking 2 or more rooms you need to call.

Darn. Epcot is, by far, my favorite. There goes the stash of comps I'd been hoarding.
