I know this is probably something that has been asked many times over... but what backpack do you like for walking the parks in the hot weather.. we will be bringing portable fans and extra water bottles to the parks.. cooling towels etc etc....

thinking my needs are....

1. water bottle pocket on each side,
2. Lighweight.. meaning not that big.. maybe big enough to hold a 13" laptop so that I could dub it as a travel bag.
3. waterproof so that I can bring it on splash and kali
4. a plus would be to have a roller back strap to put on carry-on luggage.

Thanks for the advice... I have been searching on Amazon and haven't come across one that has all of these....

Thanks

John

We use the L.L. Bean Stowaway Day Pack for our theme park visits. It is so lightweight and comfortable to wear. I really love how much we can fit into this backpack. We have not used it to stow a laptop, but the dimensions should fit a 13" laptop. We always put our electronics in the bag for water rides and during a rain shower. They haven't gotten wet yet, but it doesn't specifically say that it is waterproof. The material is nylon I believe, so at the very least it is water resistant. I am unsure what a roller back strap is. It does not have a specific strap to attach to luggage (or wheels), but there is an adjustable waistbelt and sternum strap that could possibly work. https://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/86674?page=stowaway-day-pack&csp=a&feat=118114-recsbottom.pdp

I usually have a travel backpack for my trip and I have two different Eddie Bauer backpacks that I use for park days, Stowaway 20L or Stowaway 30L. They fold up small and fit into my travel backpack. I don’t like to take a lot of things into the park so these hold everything I need for the day. Most of my trips are in March or October and I can get chilly in the evening so I like to carry a light sweatshirt or rain jacket For this past October trip I got the 30L so I could also carry my husband’s jacket. They both have side pockets for water bottles. Most times there are on sale for under $20

I agree with lillyshula-- we used the L.L. Bean Stowaway Day Pack last year and it was super easy to get through security, had the water bottle side pockets, and I could fit everything we needed without feeling weighed down. I was also able to keep it with me when getting on rides like Space Mountain and Splash Mountain without feeling squished. I haven't tried anything larger than an IPad (for the plane ride) but the dimensions sound promising. Good luck!
