WDW - August - 4 TeenAge Boys - Am I Nuts?!

50 days left!!!  :yay: :yay:

Nobody around here will work with me :worried: Well, they will....but not the way I want them to. ;) I printed up a page with each day we are there and what the Extra Magic Hour parks are those days listed on them as a guideline. Typically we hit the Early Entries of each park the first 4 days so we can get a good start on seeing and doing "everything" then the rest of the days are play-it by ear. :listen: Last trip we were there for 8 days and never made it to the World Showcase until the afternoon of our final full day, but we spent maybe 4 days at MGM. If we were "planning" we wouldn't have planned it that way - we would try to be fair to all of the parks. :) But when we were actually there and deciding what we wanted to do - well, MGM kept winning! Now this year we will have to do a little better, because our lack of planning meant that I did not see Off Kilter on our last trip. So this year when we get there I will have to see when they are performing and make sure I am there.

What I had hoped to do was give everyone a copy of my sheet and we would work out a few ADRs and some basic plans of attack. What I got back was a list from my oldest that said "Sean will be doing this" and "Sean will be doing that" no.......that is not how it works. I also got a page from my youngest saying that on his birthday we are only doing what he wants to do and nothing else. :confused3 So those pages got tossed :rolleyes1 and I am starting over.

Wed Aug 6
arrive at airport at 5:18 (unless Airtran changes their minds again!); catch Magic Express to Old Key West; check in and get settled in; go "somewhere" to eat and to activate DS18's Annual Pass. Magic Kingdom is open 'til 11 and HS has Extra Magic Hours that night, so the boys may go to a park, or we all might, or we may just go to Downtown Disney. Originally we were to arrive at 3:59 so a park was most likely going to happen - but since our flight was changed and we are getting in almost 90 minutes later a park isn't as likely. But then again (there is always a "but") last night DH was looking at the flights on our day and said if we switched to an earlier one we could get there at noon. Noon is great - but earlier flight leaves at 5:30 in the morning, which means being at the airport by 4 which means either leaving home by 2:45 at the absolute-driving-too-fast :drive: latest, or getting a hotel room (for 6:crowded: ) closer to the airport the night before. This will take some thought. I don' know if it is worth getting there earlier if we have to get up in the middle of the night to do it - but (like I said - there is always a "but") if we do get there earlier we can get some stuff done in the afternoon, go back to the rooms early and get some sleep so we will be ready for our official first full day. Will definitely have to think on those choices.....

Thurs Aug 7

First full day :yay: It is Early Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom and since tradition says that our first morning is spent at Magic Kingdom - then Magic Kingdom it is!! We will spend the morning running around like we have to see and do it all all in one day :hyper: In actuality we will probably get Tomorrowland, and parts of Fantasyland covered before hunger pains strike! After lunch may be Frontierland and Adventureland. This is the test day. This park I know my way around comfortably enough to know how long it should take to get from Point A to Point B (I'm pretty good at Epcot too - but HS and Animal Kingdom, while I know how to get where I'm going I have problems gauging how far it is) so this is the park where I will decide if I will be footing it or getting wheels. I know I will be hot, and I know my stamina won't last long, so if I discover that I can't get from Space Mountain to the TeaCups without a break and a drink of water than we're getting wheels. If I can get from one attraction to another comfortably then I will walk. I figure that there is enough sitting during rides and attractions to get a breather here and there. We'll see.
Not planning any ADRs for this day - we'll grab a counter service lunch somewhere - probably Cosmic Ray's or Columbia Harbor House - and go until we drop. Dropping will occur early afternoon when the sun is high! Then we head back to the lovely air conditioned wonderfulness of our rooms where I will :faint: ::yes::
The boys can either continue on in the heat, join us back at the rooms, or go do ridiculously energy taxing activities at the resort (basketball, tennis.....) who knows and at that point I won't care because I will still be :faint:
That night is extra hours at Epcot - but doubt that will be worth drawing us over there so once I have returned from the dead we will probably go back to Magic Kingdom. I could be wrong - we could go for a change in scenery which would probably mean Epcot, but I'm guessing it will be back to MK. There we will tackle more of what we missed earlier and maybe try to catch SpectroMagic and or Wishes. Speaking of SpectroMagic and Wishes - I saw a "chair" the other day that I thought about getting. It folds up like a cane, but then you can unfold it and it is a little stool on 3 little legs. Not terribly sturdy - you couldn't relax and get all comfortable in it - but it looked wonderful to have for when you have to stand around for the fireworks, or even the 360 movies over at Epcot. The problem is, you'd have to carry it around with you all the time and while I do have a cane and plan on bringing it, the one I have is collapsible, so when I don't feel the need to use it, it is folded up in the backpack. I intend to ride all the rides and I don't know if you can bring a cane/stool like that on all the rides (thinking Space Mountain, RockNRoller Coaster) Maybe I can get one and bring it along on the trip and see how it goes. That's something else I'm going to have to think about. :worried: Maybe I'll wander over to the DIS-abilities area and see if I can find any like-bodied people over there and see how they handle limited stamina and unlimited desire for Disney fun!

Fri Aug 8

Early hours at Hollywood Studios so that will be our destination of choice. Will hit ToT and RnRC early and often - or as often as possible until the lines don't cooperate anymore. The rest of the day will be spent doing as much as possible until no longer possible then back to the rooms again for a much needed :faint:

May try to get ADRs for Prime Time that evening. Haven't decided yet. This trip is a little different than normal- the first 4 days are family time, then on Sunday evening we have friends arriving so after that the boys will be doing their thing and we will be showing our friends around. So normally we wouldn't do Fantasmic our first HS day, we may actually try to do it this time since we will still be with the boys. Not that later in the week we will never do things with the boys - but we're trying to decide which things to do with our original group of 6, which to do with the adults only group of 4, and which to do with the overwhelming group of 8. So if we decide to to Fantasmic with just the boys then we will try to get the Fantasmic package at Hollywood and Vine.

Will probably try to get lunch at Sci Fi. Will not try to get ADRs since we will be doing so much running that day - will just check either when we get to the park, or when we are nearby. If that doesn't work out then it will probably be Pizza Planet or Backlot Express for lunch.

Sat Aug 9

DS14 becomes DS15 party: :bday:

It is early hours at Animal Kingdom so that is our park of choice - it is also DS14/15's least favorite park and he has already declared that we are not going there that day :rolleyes1 unfortunately for him his father doesnt think a birthday qualifies you to decide which park we go to. Although he says he doesn't like this park he does like Kali, Everest, primevel Whirl, Dinosaur, Lion King show...... and several other things. What he doesn't like is the fact that his dad has to take a picture (make that 20 pictures) of every living creature he comes across. He spends time at the gorilla area like he's been hired to photograph "A Day in the Life". So basically DS14/15's major gripe is standing around watching DH take pictures of "smelly animals". I am hoping that since our friend who will be coming down is as big of a photo-freak as hubby that he will postpone his obsessive photo taking until later in the trip when it is just the adults so we can get through Animal Kingdom with a minimum of teen-age whineyness! :rolleyes1 Day 3 will be pretty much like Days 1 & 2 - filled with trying to see and do it all followed by :faint: Again - once we have recuperated I don't know if we will go back for round 2 of animal Kingdom or head to a different park - especially since it is mark's birthday. Maybe a round of putt putt would be in order that evening.

Sun Aug 10

Early Epcot hours - so an Epcot day. This day I did make ADRs for Garden Grill for 11:05. The other parks are so random as far as where we go after finishing an area - Epcot is pretty much either the left side or the right side in the morning so I figured it was easier to plan where we will be. Our morning will consist of trying to do Test Track, Mission Space and Soarin'. Hopefully we can work it so we get a fast pass for Soarin about the time we will be over there for lunch. Other than that it will be a play it by ear kind of thing. If we can do the Energy Adventure while we are over there we will, if we can't fit it in we will catch it later - cutting from the left to the right we may spend some time in Innoventions depending on what our time looks like and how hot it is outside. Anything we can do on the right side before lunch we will do - otherwise it will wait until after lunch. Depending on how refreshed we are after eating we may try to stay a little longer and tackle some countries - or maybe if Off Kilter is scheduled that afternoon maybe I'll go just that far and watch them. Having a nice long relaxing air conditioned lunch may extend the day and I won't feel the need to :faint: quite as early. Our friend's flight is due in at 3:51 - or at least it was - I think they got their flights switched too so they may not be getting in until later. Once we do give up for the day we won't go back out again with the boys. We will rest up then once our friends arrive and get settled in we will go over and meet them - they are staying a short boatride away from us at Saratoga Springs. So we will probably either explore their resort or go to Downtown Disney and get something to eat. Either way it will probably be a relatively short night.

Mon Aug 11

This would normally be out do-nothing relax-at-a-water-park-day. :beach: We normally hit the first 4 days hard with commando park touring then get up later, go to a water park at park opening in order to scout out a semi-shaded area. Relax, do the lazy river, read, relax, and rest. If we drove we would have packed a cooler lunch, but since we are flying we would grab hot dogs or funnel cakes or something. Early mid-afternoon we would leave and if at Blizzard beach would walk over to WinterSummerland and play golf. Then we would go back to the rooms, shower and either go to Downtown Disney, or go pack to a park and catch a nighttime show. But since this is our friends first full day our day of resting and relaxing disappeared. :scared1: I don't know how that is going to work. I need to be re-charged at some point and I need a good portion of the day to do it! More than likely we will go with them to Magic Kingdom. That's the original park and DH thinks that's where we should start. Walt (his friend) has been to Magic Kingdom 25+ years ago, Pam (the wife) has never been. This will be interesting. :rolleyes1 I think Walt is a ride rider - I don't know about Pam. And I don't know what trip protocol requires. I don't know if we head to Space Mountain and Pam declares she doesn't want to ride if I am therefore obligated to sit it out with her :worried: There isn't a ride I am not willing to ride - although there are occasions that I will bypass them in exchange for a chance to relax with a cold drink in the shade. I will ride the Tomorrowland Speedway cars - I prefer to sit in the stands with something icy and watch :confused3
Today we have scheduled an ADR for the Liberty Inn for 1:25. Hubby figures our friends are not Park Opening kind of people, and we thought that if we start our day a little later than we usually do, that we won't want to stop for lunch too early so went for a little bit later lunch time. We will just plan to be over in that vicinity at that time. I'm sure we will skip more rides with them than we would with the boys, but again, I don't know. The other unknown factor is how Pam will work in the parks. She has arthritis that effects all of her joints - so I don't know how walking and climbing in and out of ride vehicles will go. So basically from here on out I dont know what to expect.

Tues Aug 12

This day I have a 1:45 lunch for 8 booked at Trails End at Ft Wilderness. It is early Morning hours at Magic Kingdom so I thought if the boys went there to take advantage of that then they would be able to catch the boat over to the campgrounds for lunch. I have no idea where the adults will be that day - I'm hoping either Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios. And we will just catch a bus to the Ft W and meet the boys there for lunch. Nothing against Epcot - but I am hoping on an Epcot-adult day that we will walk over to the Beach Club. We want to see how far it really is to walk it. If you will recall - back in the begining Beach Club was one of our resort choices but was vetoed due to the walking requirement - now we want to see how bad it really would have been. Plus Walt is a big ice cream eater - so figured we could make a stop at Beaches and Cream while we were there - so kinda hoping to do Epcot a different day.

Wed Aug 13 - Fri Aug 15

I have no idea. Didn't make anymore ADRs - don't know how "commando" Pam & Walt will be, don't know if I will be capable of moving - nothing. Those last few days are a total mystery. There will be Fantasmic viewings, hopefully an Illuminations viewing - I have never seen it! Well - I sort of did - the very first night it started back in 2000 (??) we were there. But I had taken the boys over to ride Figment and when I got back I didn't have much of a view so while I saw the fireworks and I knew something was happening on the globe I couldn't see what it was. DH was taking pictures - or videotaping it, so I had to fuss with all 3 boys - and if it was in 2000 like I'm thinking it was they would have been 7-11 and crabby because it was our last night. So really I haven't "really" seen Illuminations yet.

I am sure DH and Walt will wear out the buttons on their cameras throughout the trip. And Pam is a talker. I like to talk :chat: that's not a problem - what I can't do i walk and talk at the same time. I need all the energy and breath I can manage to keep moving forward. Talking takes air - air that I don't generally have. So another unknown factor. Basically the last half of the trip is a total mystery - we will all just have to wait and see what happens!!

I just don't understand some people - namely my brother. He has been to WDW twice - once in '77 when we were kids and one other time about 20+ years ago when he was in the Army and was stationed close enough to go over for a day trip one time. That's it 2 days in Magic Kingdom in his 45 years of life. (I know, it's sad isn't it) But I was over at my folks last night and he was there and I was talking about my great debate with myself about renting a yscooter offsite or renting one at the parks. Plus my dilemma on having a scooter when trying to shop my way down Main Street. Then I mentioned that I would probably park and walk when I got to the different lands - park and walk around Tomorrowland doing the different attractions then ride to Fantasyland and such.
Mr I-have-been-there-two-whole-times says "Well, they probably have people who would do that for you" -
me "huh?" -
him "You know like those golf carts that they drive around - they probably would take you from one area to another" -
me thinking he's just confused "Well, they have them at the resorts - like if you don't drive and you need a ride to your room with your luggage they will load it on the carts and take you there"
Him "no - at the parks - I bet they do the same kind of thing there"
Dad (piping into the conversation) "No they wouldn't do that you wouldn't be able to walk if they had those there too"
Brother (determined he's right) "Well they wouldn't have one for each person. I bet there's people there who do it"
Me - silent.

See, I'm not stupid - I grew up with these people and I know that they are "never wrong" and me being the baby of the family is "most generally not right especially if I am in direct opposition to them!" so - silence. I will let my brother continue to think there are little golf cart shuttles plowing through the crowds at Magic Kingdom (man wouldn't it be nice if it were true - if they only drove where people weren't walking!) Because you know since he has been there two whole times, the most recent being prior to the birth of my nearly 19 year old son - that he would know so much more about what does and doesn't happen at a place that I have been to over a dozen times usually for a week or more at a time since his last visit!

They continued to debate this for awhile with me noticeably or not so noticeably absent from the conversation. When it came to a lul I decided it was time for me to head back up to the ball park for the ball game.

I have offered to send my brother down to Disney with my oldest son next summer for a few days (well, I offered them use of our DVC points - they have to get themselves there!) - maybe I should rescind my offer - I wouldn't want him to be disappointed that they did away with the in-park-golf-cart-shuttles!:rotfl:

We are going to be at the world at the same time!!!!

My DF and I a will be getting married on August 8th and honeymooning in Disney from the 9th-17th. We are staying at the CBR and I am so excited!

There is a link to my pre-trip report in my signature, with some pictures.

Have you ever been to Disney during this particular week in August before. I have tried to read up on the crowds, but am getting a lot of mixed reviews. I have not read anything from anyone who has been there on that particular week so I am unsure.

Congrats on the wedding :bride: We honeymooned at Disney too! Only that was almost 20 years ago and we stayed off site (there really wasn't much of an "on-site" back then!)

And Yes and No as far as having been there in August before. We were - but that was back in '91. We were down for my oldest step-sons Navy boot camp graduation. We didn't spend a lot of time at the parks so I don't recall how crowded they were, but I am guessing the crowd in 1991 wouldn't compare to the crowds in 2008 so even if I remembered it probably wouldn't help. :rolleyes1

We typically go mid-late September. Only a month or so later, but kids are back in school by then so I'm sure its quite a difference. The only reason we are going in August this time is so my oldest won't have to miss any time at college. We had no problems pulling the kids out of grade school and high school - but when you are paying for college classes you really don't want to pull them out of that! :teacher:

Have fun on your trip!!!

I was going to spend this evening working on some scrapbooking stuff, but that is out the window. Instead I am going to be tearing through the house looking for some missing social security cards. :confused3 My husband wants me to take my 17 year old down to the driver's license place and get him a state id. He is afraid that he will need some sort of id when we fly even though he is under 18. Due to disabilities he does not have a driver's license. Today I decided to gather up what I needed (soc sec card, birth certificate, bank statement) so I can take him and get the card and I can't find the boys social security cards :scared1: I have a file that they are supposed to be in and they aren't there, they also aren't with their extra copies of certified birth certificates, or with their bank books. :confused3 So as soon as hubby leaves for his softball game I will be rooting through everywhere. I have no idea where they would be because I can't think of what I would have needed them for. I thought they might be with their bank books because that's the last time I remember needing them for anything was when we opened those accounts - wih me luck!!

YIKES!

Found em!!!  They were - of course - somewhere that I had looked 3 times already. But you know how it is - when you feel pressured to find something you just can't see it. As a bonus - I found the package of vellum paper that I had been looking for a while back too! Now I just have to find a 3rd identifying thing. I have his SS card and his birth certificate - but he doesn't get a bank statement. I forgot that the two younger boys just have passbook accounts and with very little activity in them so they don't get bank statments in their names. This oughta be fun!

I took DS17 to town yesterday and got his ID - its pretty cool. Then we went to WalMart where I purchased 2 more packages of underwear (so DH, DS17 & DS14 are all taken care of) 2 more packages of socks (DS17 & DS14) 4 different types of deodorant (all 3 boys and me) 2 new tubes of toothpaste (one for boys one for me), 2 new toothbrushes (DS18 & DS17), some pony tail scrunchies (me), nail clippers (lost mine), bandaids, moleskin, Aleve, Tylenol sinus, 2 prs shorts for DS17, 1 pr shorts and top for me, and two bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Plus some pop and chips for home for now. Grand total $153.69! Got home and unloaded the van and left for DS14s baseball game. AFter the baseball game we ran through McDonalds where we had to "pull ahead and wait" - for 15 minutes!! Geez - what at McDonalds takes 15 minutes to make?? After they brought us our food DS14 wanted me to wait to make sure that his order was right (no pickles) - so he opened his burger and declared it ok for me to leave. We pull out and head through town only to discover that we only had 2 containers of fries. He pulled out the receipt and there were two meals plus an order of fries. So we pulled into Caseys, turned around and went back where he ran in to get our other order of fries. When we finally get home I start unbagging all the stuff I had gotten at WalMart. Once it was all out of sacks and stuck in a box for eventual trip packing I realized that my shampoo and conditioner weren't there. So I went out and checked the van - not there - checked the bathroom in case it got put away instead of put with the packing stuff - not there. So, thinking it was a 24-hour WalMart I called and got WalMart security. Since the security people aren't too concerned with shampoo I let it drop for then.

Went to bed last night and I could not sleep. I don't think it was because of my missing shampoo and conditioner, but I just laid there - I had all sorts of thoughts running through my head. I was writing speeches (my oldest and youngest boys participate in Speech contests and every now and then I get an idea for a neat speech.....which they never use.....and I find myself composing speeches in my head) last night I was "writing" one on organ donation and another one on the flags at Wrigley Field. And in between my "speech writing" I was trying to re-create checking out at WalMart and where my shampoo went missing. Plus trying to decide what I was doing this week and next - I have 3 trips to Peoria lined up that I am trying to condense to two trips, and I was "packing" everyones clothes, and "buying groceries" and ......well, let's just say my mind was running a thousand miles an hour in 30 different directions and sleep just wasn't coming. Finally about 3:30 or so I got up and took some Tylenol PM. It took awhile for them to kick in - but I finally fell asleep. Now today I'm beat. I slept in - but I'm still drowsy. I have to get up and around fairly early tomorrow because I have to take the van in to have the air conditioner looked at .....again. And DH has a ball game tonight at 8 on the road, and another game tomorrow that he is going to straight from work so I need to wash his uniform tonight after the game so he will be able to take it with him, so it will be another late night again tonight.
So today I wake up, check the van again, check the bathroom, again, check the living room again, ask DS17 if he brought Everything into the living room - no shampoo. So I called WalMart again and they didn't have any sacks left behind. So either they gave it to the gal in line behind me, or they just restocked it after it got left because I don't have it. They told me to just bring my receipt back in. Well, that's all well and good - but its about 30 miles away and driving 30 miles there and back for $4 of shampoo just isn't practical - once upon a time I may have done that, but in the days of $4+ gas it just isn't going to happen. It really makes me mad too (in case you haven't figured that out already just on the amount of time I have spent talking about it!) because these were smaller bottles. They weren't "travel size" but they were smaller than regular, which would have been about the right size for a 10 day vacation. I had gotten a 2 bottles of shampoo and 2 conditioner that I would have had in our room and the boys room. I though 10 days - everybody taking at least one shower each day - these not-quite-full-size bottles would be perfect. If there were any left at the end of the trip it wouldnt be much and I could leave it behind without feeling like I wasted it. Now I don't know if I should just drop it or try to stop in later and see what happens. I don't have time to go today.....plus I just don't want to go back today - tomorrow I'm going ina different direction - so maybe on Friday I could go back, but I don't know if by Friday they are still going to be willing to work with me on a missing purchase from Tuesday afternoon. Somewhere along the way I have to go to Galesburg (Canton - where I went to WalMart is South of me, Peoria is East andy Galesburg is North) to get stuff for a bus trip this week-end, so that will probably be on Friday, unless I can find what I need while I'm in Peoria Thursday. :confused3 Now DS14 wants an ID like DS17 has. It's only ten bucks so I suppose I could take him down and get him one too, but it would have been easier to just get it when I went yesterday.

oOh well......I've been rambling long enough - but since it's just me here I guess that's ok! Oh and 27 days!!!! 4 weeks from right now we will be in the air between Atlanta and Orlando!

I've started packing - sorta. I have one suitcase that things are being thrown in. So far

DH - 1 shirt - pkg underwear
ME - 3 shirts - 1 pr capris, 2 prs shorts, pkg socks, 3 new bras, - swimsuit, swim shorts
DS18 - 2 shirts - pkg underwear, pkg socks, trunks
DS17 - 4 shirts - 4 shorts - pkg underwear, pkg socks, trunks, swim shirt
DS14 - 4 shirts - pkg underwear - pkg socks
DSF - 1 shirt (I'm not buyin him underwear!!)

5 beach towels, bathroom supplies for all - deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, various pain and allergy medications, band-aids, moleskin

I'm hoping to get more serious about it Sunday. Right now my youngest is on vacation with his friend (the one we are taking with us). He will get back sometime tonight. Then Friday night my oldest step-sons wife and kids are coming by (they live in Virginia) so they will be spending the night Friday and part of the day Saturday. So hopefully Sunday everyone will be home - nobody will be coming and I can spread suitcases out and start taking things away from people. My middle guy hates wearing shorts so I was able to steal the ones he has and pack them because he doesn;t like to wear them anyway. DH hasn't decided what he is taking yet, so other than his one new shirt I don't have anything in for him. My oldest and youngest live in their shorts so it is too early to take them out of circulation yet, but they have so many shirts - two each are new that they weren't allowed to wear before vacation anyway.

In case it looks like I don't have much done - it's actually more than it looks. We are only taking 4 outfits each. We have a washer and dryer in our room so I just always have a load going while we are there so it is easier to take fewer clothes and wash more often, :laundy: especially since we are flying and have limited space/weight to deal with.

I want to start packing, but I feel like if I do it will just be sitting there...lol. How excited are you???? I can't wait!!!!!!!! Have a great time. We will be following right behind you:banana:

Do you know anything about the rules of carrying makeup in your carry-on. Does it have to be included in the 1 qt. ziplock bag or can I just leave it in my carry-on. Also...I want to have a razor to shave my legs in case something goes wrong with my luggage, but I am pretty sure that I can not carry that on with me. Do you know anything about that?

I haven't worn make up in years so I can't help you there - other than to say if it's liquid make up (foundation) I would include it in the quart - if its powder I wouldn't worry about it - but the "soft solids" (lipstick) I don't know how they consider. I would assume they aren't actually a liquid. I wonder how they handle deodorant - we have a combination of roll on, gel, and stick - the roll-on and gel I worry about but will probably pack in the checked luggage.

As far as a razor - I think they are ok of they are like a disposable type. You know - not the old ones where you changed the actual blade (not just the head in a cartridge). You might want to look at TSA.gov there is a thing called "What to know before you go" that answers a lot of these questions. (Looks like I need to re-read it too!)

Wow - and I thought my sister was brave with two boys! Looking forward to reading more!

Thanks Tanya. I will check that out:)

Can't wait to come home and read all about your trip and start writing about mine as well:cool1:

Disney here we come!!!!

We leave in ust a couple days and I could just cry right now I am so frustrated! Since we are flying we are limited on how much we can take, a good portion of the bulk will be my medical supplies. Also we have a washer and dryer in our room so there is not a need to take a lot of clothing, so everybody gets to bring 3 outfits plus what they wear, swim suit and whatever "cover" ( T-shirt, shorts, etc) and pjs or comfy clothes to sleep in. I have the suitcases laid out, my middle boy has given me all of his clothes, my youngest has given me his shirts, but hasn't coughed up his shorts yet, his friend has brought his clothes over, but hubby and oldest son - nothing. I have no idea what my husband plans on wearing or if he even has appropriate clothes (he should - but whether he will think they are is yet to be seen) I come in my room to get the pair of shorts that I bought to go over my swim suit and - o my god! :scared1: there is stuff everywhere! My bed is buried and there is just....stuff.......everywhere. Hubby is back downstairs working on some wedding pictures that he needs to get done before we leave, but apparently he had time to come up here and totally trash the bedroom without accompllishing a single thing. I am so ticked right now. Plus I can't find my shorts....... grrrrrrr what makes me even madder is that he will leave all of this just the way it is and when it is time to go to bed (it's 8:20 now - so in just a few hours....) he will come up and pile it all on the floor so whatever purpose he thought he had in dragging everything out and piling on the bed - it will just get moved and piled somewhere else.

ok I am babbing now so I will sign out.......and go look for my stuff :scared:

Boys will be boys:confused3 and the reason why I say boys is because the only difference between a man and a boy is the physical aspect. They are all boys mentally:lmao:

I'm sorry that you have to deal with the mound of clothing (aka a boys unfinished project that always get stuck on the woman to take care of). I hope you find your shorts too.

Only a few more days and we will be in the world together!!!

I really hope you guys have a wonderful time

confession time.....I found my shorts......I'd already "packed" them :rolleyes1 well, not totally packed them, but packed to be packed :confused3 I had thrown things in a box - mostly stuff I had bought new - ya' know - like all that underwear that I'd bought for everyone! Well, at some point I got the bright idea of putting my shorts in that box too - you know - so I'd know where they were when it was time to pack :rolleyes1 so - mystery solved. I have a promise from my oldest son that I WILL have his clothes in the suitcase tomorrow. He had the nerve to ask me what all I had on my list for him......uh - gee - just the 2 shirts that I bought that he complained about, and...uh...well, that's it - 2 shirts. Two Disneyshopping.com $5 shirts that he is whining will be hot....he thinks he's gonna run around in "wife-beaters" while we are down there. He even bought himself a new package of them thinking I would be impressed that he wanted to wear "new" wife-beaters. :sad2: Nope he's gotta wear the "hot" Disney t-shirts and whatever else I manage to get stuck in the suitcase tomorrow. He got a long sleeve gauzey shirt for his birthday that he thinks he wants to take - I call it his "girl-shirt" because, frankly, it looks like something I'd wear. It's that real light weight gauzey fabric, and it's like a tunic. So between mens undershirts, and a "blouse" I have no idea what that kid is gonna look like! but he does have 2 shirts, a package of underweat ;) , socks and tennis shoes - now we just find some pants and we'll be making some progress.

I'm trying to decide how I want to pack. If we were driving it would be easy - our clothes would be in one suitcase and the boys would be in another. But since we are flying - and chnaging planes to boot, I think I'm gonna divvy the stuff up among the suitcases so not everyones stuff is all in one bag so if that bag doesn't make it - they aren't stuck. So that is going to mess with my packing plans somewhat.

Oh well, it is 1:20 in the morning and I really should be sleeping so - goodnight!!
