So I am getting groceries delivered on our upcoming trip to WDW. My plan was to have them shop at Publix (several folks recommended it), the shopper is recommending Albertson's. We don't have either store around here, anyone familiar with both stores and have a preference?

At this point I am still leaning towards Publix just because I have checked out their circulars a few times and am now a little familiar with what they carry (their prepared foods/deli items look good). I don't feel like starting all over again. :rolleyes1 If you all sing the praises of Albertson's though I will check them out. :upsidedow

I vote for Publix.

When we lived in Texas, Albertsons was all we had. They were fine. Now we live back in the south, and it's where I do 90% of my shopping.

I just like Publix more. Their store brand stuff is good. Their deli meals are fantastic, their produce is always great.

I vote Publix.

I don't know where there is an Albertson's around Disney. Having shopped at both Albertsons and Publix- PUBLIX without a doubt!

The shopper is probably recommending Albertson's because it is convenient to where they are located and they are familiar with its layout.

Albertson's is part of a larger grocery chain that includes Acme in Philly area. It looks like there are a grand total of 4 stores in the entire state of Florida. I don't know Albertson's but I do know the Acme brand. The stores can be hit or miss as far as selection, cleanliness and shelf prices. I have a small Acme near me that is amazing when it comes to convenience foods and great produce. The store is small, so they don't have the shelf spaces that the larger store has, so they don't carry a huge variety of things. OTOH, the larger Acme doesn't have the amazing selection of deli, bakery and hot foods that the smaller one has. And overall, the smaller store is cleaner.

If you want Publix, then tell the shopper that it's your preference. If they still push the Albertson's brand, then find another shopper. You shouldn't have to settle for something else when you're paying them to do the shopping. It's not as if they are doing you a favor by picking up your groceries for you.

There's only 4 Albertsons left in Florida,2 in the west coast,1 in South Florida and one in the northern part of Orlando about 45 minutes from Disney.Publix is the main grocery store in Florida,I have about 8 of them within a 10 minute drive from my house.Winn Dixie would be a distant second along with Walmart and Target.

We have used a few of the popular shopping services: It was my understanding WeGoShop went anywhere you want. We used them they went to Walmart, Publix and a convenience store. What company are you using??? Have you searched for reviews???Also, have you checked out Gardengrocer.com, we use them often and the prices and selection are good. I had thought Albertsons was more expensive than Publix, but I do not know that for sure. I have read lately about Amazon pantry online but when I checked their prices and selection, I am glad we do GG. Good luck with your shopping!

We used to have Albertson's in our city, along with Publix and Winn-Dixie. I rarely shopped at Albertson's - I thought their prices were high and I didn't care for their meat. I shop exclusively at Publix. Love their deli, their store-brand items and customer service.

Maybe your shopper works for Albertson's (or has a family member that does) and is getting the employee discount and making extra off the orders he/she fills there.

I am using WeGoShop. When I emailed with some questions a few months ago they originally suggested Publix, now she suggested Albertson's but she is willing to go wherever I choose. Since I am not familiar with either I figured I would ask here. I will stick with Publix, I am primarily interested in ordering prepared foods, deli meat, produce and bakery items and everyone seems happy with them in those departments.

Thanks for the info. :)
