We arrived last June on Father's Day and had breakfast at Chef Mickey's. Our whole family loved it! I had a special shirt embroidered for my DH and the pictures I took of him wearing the shirt with the characters is priceless!
Does anyone know if WDW or any of the restaurants do anything special for Father's Day each year? We did this last year on our own. I started thinking about this when I saw the post that the Mother's Day Brunch had been cancelled this year. We will be back this year on Father's Day again and wanted to know if there was anything special to do. Thanks for the help!:thumbsup2

We are at WDW during Father's Day as well...I had posted a note a while back in a different area asking for ideas about doing something special for my DH for Father's Day. I had read something...somewhere about somebody getting a baseball style hat and having all the characters sign the hat and/or writing Happy Father's Day in different languages around the WS in Epcot...I also would like to know if any of the restaurants are doing anything special...if not, do you think we can request doing something on our own (maybe dessert with having something like drizzled chocolate writing like they do for birthdays on the plate?)

I tried finding something last year and was not able to come up with anything.

I don't think Disney does anything formal for Father's Day. This year I'm going to schedule a tee time for DH and DS to golf. The kids can give it to him on Sunday for a golf day later in the week. Plus we'll have dinner at ESPN Club on Sunday.

We will be staying at ASMO's too! :thumbsup2 We check in on June 19 and check out on June 26. We have a requested a preferred room in the Dalmations section or Fantasia. We have already stayed twice in the Toy Story section and wanted to try something new. I have tried to start two different threads for those of us staying at ASMO's in June, but not many have responded.
I will probably have another shirt made for DH this year. He's not much for wearing hats, but I like that idea.
Another idea would be to buy a brick in honor of DH. I think there are different areas where these are placed-I like this idea a lot!!!:yay:

That's a really good idea! Does anyone know how to purchase one? My family tried to get one a few years ago by calling Disney, but they said they didn't have any bricks available to purchase. :confused3

We are also going to be at WDW for Father's day this year. We are thinking about going to Whispering Caynon Cafe at the Wilderness Logde for either breakfast or lunch.

We will be at Music for Father's Day! I plan to decorate our door with Mickey's if you come over from Movies. I think DH wants LeCelier for dinner that day. No problem for me!

You are right!:sad2: Disney no longer sells the bricks. I'll have to think of something else! Keep the ideas coming!!!!:wizard:

We booked through AAA and our reservation indicates a preferred room...but doesn't say what building..now I'm wondering if I should call Disney and request the building we want to be in....I like the shirt idea as well....maybe we can meet up at some point....we arrive the 16th and depart on the 23rd. This is our 2nd trip to WDW so we're even more excited this trip than the first trip! Guess we have Disney fever...not too hard to catch around here!

I agree!:thumbsup2 We have a wonderful travel agent we use and she puts that kind of request in for us! Last June we had a preferred room in the Toy Story section-bottom floor-corner room!:cool1: It was wonderful! I have a scooter I rent and use-I had back surgery over a year ago and can't do all the walking WDW requires so our reservations do go through the medical reservations as well. I'm sure that helps us get the room we need-we don't request a handicapped room-just a regular room.
I always decorate our door and window so we would probably be easy to find-are you going to decorate?

Yes, I plan on getting to I think it's Home DeP*t to get the colored mickeys for the windows/doors...not sure if doing much more than that...but I still have time to get ideas, etc. I love all the planning....in my mind...I'm already there so to speak...Planning is more than half the fun!

You're right-it is Home Depot! I also get a lot of window clings from our local Dollar Tree stores! They have Cars, HSM, and Tinkerbell right now. If you really want to get creative buy some magnetic paper on EBAY-it's much more expensive in office supply stores. You use it like regular copy paper in your printer. The sky's the limit with what you can do with it! I plan on making all sorts of designs to stick on our door-it's magnetic! Your right about the planning! I live on DISboards until we go!:wizard: This trip is a total suprise for our kids-DD10 and DS4! We only live an hour from Myrtle Beach and they think we are spending a week there-we just went to WDW last summer so they will never suspect we are going back!:rotfl2: We couldn't pass up the "buy 4, get 3 free" deal! We're spending less this year than last year-we did purchase the Dining Plan last year because it was our DS4's first trip to WDW and we did character meals everyday! Best way to meet and greet characters!

Just programmed my cell phones and house phone for the spead dialing WDW number. Getting a little worried about making the Ressies as I've been reading that a lot of people are having problems with a long hold, disconnecting and system being down....hopefully that won't happen :sad2: and hopefully, we'll get everything we want or close to it anyway. Will have to go to Home Dep*t and The Dollar Tr*e to get some of the decorating things. Don't laugh....but the suitcases are already in the spare room! ;) ;)

Good luck on making those ressies!!!! We're not making any this time. I would like to eat at the castle just once, but I doubt we will on this trip. I'm having a hard time keeping the trip a secret! My DH has almost given it away 3 times!!!!:rotfl2: We go in another room and just giggle! I'm buying a few things here and there, but not too much yet. We get out of school on June 4 so that will give me some time to pull stuff together.
