WDW and DL Medal

Up early here in Denver, flight to ATL today, staying with my sister. Will be good to see them. Sunday is the ING Georga 1/2 marathon. I have been tasked by another forum and web site with getting a picture of the Disney Medal they will be giving out if you do the WDW 1/2 or full and the DL 1/2. Film at eleven or earlier on Friday.

See you Sunday! I hope you have a great race! Last year the course was absolutely beautiful, every flower in ATL was in bloom and the day was clear and bright. I have a feeling this year will not be as pretty. Tornado damage is still every where.

It's still a great way to see the sights of Atlanta though. Enjoy.

Just back from the expo and I can report that there was no DL/WDW combo medal on display

Lady there said they haven't even finalized the design for it yet

Ditto, we were there first thing and nadda, were told the same thing.

Also no display of nxt years WDW medals.

We just got back to my sisters place. The expo was nice, I was hoping Garmin would haev been there.

This is our first big non Disney race, it is different, Disney provides more info on start etc....

The big difference I noticed is that at the Expo there is not a big rush for the event murchandise. LOL silly people if they put the mouse on it , they would sell a whole lot more.


I did win a Waffle House Running hat, LOL.... KEWL!!!! Lynn got a Waffle House T-shirt.

The expo was great. I can't wait to pick out my new Saturn. The lady at the expo told me that the NEW Full and Half medals will look similar to the 2008 Goofy medal. A raised Mickey and Donald face in solid gold (no enamel on Mickey for 2009) Goofy is not changing for 2009 so they will all be similar styles.

I guess you guys didn't chat her up enough.

Did you see the booth for Dig it tees? I bought a shirt for me and for DH. Mine says "runners dig the finsh line" and his says " live the life you dig"
A friend of mine owns the company. He is always looking for new "dig" slogans.

Rumor the new Princess 1/2 is in March? Why so early? Uless they moved it to the ESPN Weekend date.

Well kiddies, Bummer for sure, there were no new medals on display at the ING Atlanta Expo.

It was nice, I was hoping that Garmin would have been there, wanted to see the 405, Lynn did get a nike Ipod, for use in places where her Garmin won’t work, i.e. on the Disney ships.

Info on the TOT was that the start and announcements would be much improved, the medal will be the same without the 6.5 K on it. The pre race will be like you are checking into a Hotel, bag check etc…

Oh the Minnie will be changed to a Princes Theme, and be a ½ marathon, to be held in March. They are working on a race just for us guys.

Dig it shirts are fun and creative.

You are correct on the medals as that is what she said to us.

Isn't that the height of spring break? And more expensive rooms? I wonder if they are trying to avoid the end of April with the Flying Pig, Country Music, and Indy 1/2s. Easter is Apr 12th next year, so they have to avoid that too. I just hope they announce the date far enough in advance to make plans. I am hoping to do Nashville next year so a March date would work for me!

I went to the Expo this evening with "Grumpy" (His new name....)

The guy working the Disney booth was the "anti Disney" Talk about a lump on a log LOL!


(Grumpy is injured and is NOT happy. I am not sure what's going to happen Sunday. He is VERY stubborn and still wants to do the 26.2 miles. Wonder if they transport to the hosptial?)
