I believe that is the least expensive resort at Disney. Are you asking about off-site? You should try the Orlando resorts board if you are.

We've stayed at a 3 br condo in Windsor Hills for under $125 a night. The drive was 10 mins to Animal Kingdom.

Stay-off site at Windsor Hills...you're less then 5 mins to AK, via Sherberth Rd, and can be to any of the parklots in 10 to 15 mins at most.

Staying off site may be cheaper than a value resort room at Disney, but don't forget that you are going to have to pay for parking at the Parks unless your off site hotel has free shuttle. You will want to add that into your nightly costs before ruling out on site stays.

Are you dates set in stone? If you change your dates you can do better at the All Star Resorts. We went last summer (8/7 - 8/14), stayed at All Star Movies, and it was $85/night on Friday and Saturday nights and $72/night during the week.

I think it's $15 now...but you can still save significantly staying off site.

I stay in Lake Buena Vista. Lots of nicer, clean hotels with things like free breakfasts, interior corridors etc....

If you have an AP parking is free, but on my upcoming trio Disney wants over $100 and the Marriott Courtyard wants $80 with a free breakfast deal. Even after you pay $15 for parking you save

We had a 3 bedroom condo in Windsor hills for $70/night. It's so close to the parks and even after paying for parking, we still saved a bundle.

Don't forget you are also paying for the "Disney Magic", which I find to be worth the price increase. Call me corny, but I love the way they welcome you, the Disney 24X7 vibe, the immersion in the Magic.

That said, if the only way I could go was off-site, it's better than not going at all! Or, wait and save more!

We are staying at silver lake next trip. 2 bedrooms, and 5 minutes from ak $269 for the week from sky auction. Plus a $20 fee for using the site.

Or rent point and at least get a good resort for that price.

We have stayed off site once and well, we likely will never do it again.

We just missed the convenience factor of parking the car and.... leaving it parked.

Because there are so many tourists driving in the Orlando area - I really don't stand to drive there. People change lanes at the drop of a hat, they fly across three lanes to make their exit in time, and then the people that forget how traffic signals and signs work.

We usually drive for at least one trip a year, and even then we take buses most times. If we are going out to a park for the entire day I don't mind - but you mix local traffic with tourist traffic and YOWZA - it gets hectic!

If you are going to stay off site, take the Hilton at Downtown Disney. You can often get it for under $100 a night and still have Extra Magic Hours access to the parks AND bus transit!

Much further off site than that, and I fear the magic would just be gone for us!

See I can no longer justify the 'magic'. Hotels and service are sub standard. So once I think about quality vs price it went from magic to rip off

However---you dont get 3 BR, a full kitchen, seperate family room and your own private pool. All of which you'll get a Windsor Hills -- for $100 or night or less. We paid about $80 when we went the first week of June. The house was totally Disney. Disney ice cubes, knobs on cabinets, bedding, pictures on the wall...etc

And IMO, Disney buses are much more of a pain then driving myself. When driving from the parks to WH -- I spent about 2 mins on 192 and the rest of the time on Disney property. I also control the air and know I'll be able to sit down too!!

Try looking into Buena Vista Palace. We usually go there and it's around $125 or under per night. It is walking distance to Downtown Disney and has Disney bus service. I usually find pretty good discounts for this particular hotel on either Groupon or hotel web sites, making the cost cheaper. Also try the Hilton in Buena Vista. I believe Mousesavers currently has a good deal out for that one

One year we stayed off site for three nights in late October before checking in at Disney, and I agree, it was a total traffic nightmare. We could not believe how long it took us to get from point A to point B; every outing was a major challenge, and we were not even going back and forth to the parks.
The only way I would consider staying off property again would be if we were staying for 2 or more weeks, and I wanted a place with a full kitchen, and a couple of bedrooms. Otherwise it's not worth the trouble.

I couldn't believe how high AS pricing was either when I was thinking of a trip in July for my DDs birthday. What happened to the days when the rooms were under $100 a night? Now we're looking at close to double that. Needless to say, I told DD it wasn't going to happen.

Ha! We obviously are VERY different people. Neither one of those scenarios are anything close to what I would consider a vacation. I refuse to cook on a Disney vacation. We love laying in our beds and watching TV in the AM and PM when we are waking up/winding down, but absolutely no need for a separate bedroom or family room, and we love having the other families/kids at the pool at the resort for our kids to play with.

Same goes for even a minute driving on any road, much less an interstate....not gonna happen, for us, on a Disney vacation. Disney, for us, is synonymous with not having to do ANYTHING that relates to everyday. No cooking, cleaning, driving, etc.

So glad there are so many choices out there for the varying ways people choose to vacation!

OP - when are you going? My upcoming Pop reservation is about $95/night.
