We have planned a trip beginning the Sunday before Labor Day thru the following Thusday. Can anyone tell me how are the crowds and what are all of the park hours (went to the Disney website, but calendar has not been populated that far out). We will have a toddler and a twelve year and ten year old. If parks close early what would be entertaining for them in the evenings? Even though we have been to WDW numerous times, this will be our first time as DVC owners (SSR)

We love September! The crowds are non-existent and the weather is great. Some of the parks are open till 9ish (sorry, seems to me that it was EPCOT every day, MK weekends)...but Downtown Disney is open. Water parks closed at 5 or 6.

Although September is a much lighter touring month, I would guess that the Tues-Sunday following Labor Day Monday would be more crowded than the September days that follow. I'm basing this on the theory that anytime there is a weekday holiday, many people seem to avail themselves of getting a full week off work for the "cost" of only four days. You shouldn't be getting summer peak crowds at that time though:D

I would add that September is still very hot at WDW.

We go every year at this time. The labor day weekend is busy, BUT, it gets very quiet after that holiday. Remember most kids are back in school and few parents are willing to pull them out of school so early in the year.
And, yes, it is very hot and muggy at that time of year. I love it!!

That's good info Gail, thanks for the post:earsboy: It never ceases to amaze me how many school-age children there are at WDW during times when I can't imagine ANYONE is out of school.
Then I recall how many times we took our twin DDs during school time;)

Me too, but, check the accents on some of the kids, very British, very Aussie, etc. Like you, I pulled my DD out of school too.

My family and I have been to WDW a couple of times in Sept. The crowds were OK - wait times for most rides usually didn't go beyond 20 minutes. As many have said, it is hot and muggy, especially (to us at least) in AK where I've heard it's because the thick vegetation stifles air flow. I'd tackle AK early in the morning, especially with the toddler.

A couple things you could do in the evenings is go to DisneyQuest - a five story game room or Fort Wilderness has a free campfire and movie at 9:00 PM every evening. Renting a surrey bike on the Boardwalk is also fun. You can also try dining at different resorts in the evening.
