It's been 7 whole months since we got back from our last trip to WDW and I suddenly, inexplicably find myself thoroughly reading all the Disney newsletters I subscribe to, clicking on the links, perking up when I hear that airfares are down. And, today, here I am, back reading the DIS not just for its entertainment value (which is great) but, uh, for, um, actual information! Does this mean I'm about to plan the next trip?

On Friday, I was walking down the street, innocently thinking about nothing in particular, and out of the blue I was having an entire reverie about how much I love AKL and how sitting on the balcony watching the animals was probably the most serene thing I could think of.

So, I called up DH just now and told him that a Bad Thing was happening: I was reading the DIS boards! And he said: "I've got my Mickey Mouse tee shirt on today. We'll talk about it after I get home."

I hope he gets home early today!!!!

PS: I just saw the preview of this message. After we got home in December, I started up a new countdown clock for a possible January '05 trip...but that was just to appease me, since I was sure we weren't going back that soon...BUT...maybe we are!

Those "bad things" have a way of happening to all of us. We weren't even home from our May/June trip when we realized that we "had" to plan another trip to keep our sanity!

We haven't even finished our plans for our October trip, and DS and DDIL asked us last week if we thought it was too soon for them to go back to WDW and on the cruise (they went with us in December of 2003). Of course, it's never too soon as far as we're concerned, so now we're planning a Land/Sea trip (booked separately because we have AP's and will save some money) with them at the end of February. Then DH said "But we wanted to cruise by ourselves for a change!" So, it looks like it will be a four-night cruise for the two of us, followed by meeting up with son and his family at WDW right after we leave the ship, followed by...another four-night cruise with them!

I think my sanity is alright...as long as I'm always planning a Disney vacation of some kind!

(We're already planning to attend the Flower and Garden Show next spring, too). My goal is never to have a more than double digit countdown clock!

We've been home for 15 days and we usually space out our stays by 3 years which gives us time to SAVE. But I've got it BAD right about now. Reading all about the discounts and reviews. I want to go back too!!!ASAP!!! DH and I talked and decided that waiting 3 years is way to long to wait for another vacation and we would try every 2, just step up the saving. That leaves me looking at summer of 2006.....how am I going to wait that long!!!
Sorry to whine, I know I should be thankful to go even once(and i am) but for some reason this time I just have this little voice telling me -the hell with the budget, just go, pay for it later. Yikes!! Been thinking this since we got home and figured I'd try venting maybe it'll get better!

In 1996 we went on our "last" WDW trip. Then another in 1997 and then our "third annual last trip to WDW" in 1998. We reallt did break the habit for a while, but then last year discovered the Swan (keeoing the thread on topic for the resort board. Now we may have started something, because we're going going again this year. I think the variety of resort experiences can make each trip both comfortable/familiar and new/exciting.

1999 was our first trip and I had planned a new one every 5 years, we went back in 2003, then 2004, and are already making plans for 2005, yipes! With the last trip the fever is begg. to take hold....

We took our first "trip of a lifetime" trip to WDW in October 1999. Before we went, we couldn't imagine ever being able to go back again. We're now planning our 9th trip for Oct/Nov.
Does that make me addicted?
Hi, my name is REVROB, and I'm addicted to Walt Disney World!

2 years ago we said that we would go every 4 or 5 years. We said when Disney got some new rides/attractions ect... I have been 3 times since I said that!!! :) Oh well, the Disney bug has a tight grip on me now!! I don't have a trip planned for 2004, but I do have one MEGA trip planned for May 2005 including a Disney Cruise!!:) I said over the weekend it would be great to be sitting around the World Showcase waiting for Illuminations to start!!:)

We havent even been on our honeymoon yet and already we'rew planning a trip next summer with all the parents. Yay! AKL maybe? or YC/BC?

Oh Please - I am seriously addicted. I don't even go as frequently as I like but I check out Disney information daily. I really was starting to think that I could use a couch to lay on because I find myself obsessed with Disney and thinking about it more than I should. My husband does not share this "problem" with me, but all I need from him is one slight reference to Disney and I'm off and planning.

Just yesterday he asked what I was reading on the computer, then he answered himself and said "oh the disney message board". I said I was "checking in with my crew". I felt a bit guilty getting caught with my obsession. Then he asked "so whats new with Disney - any good deals?" Well thats all I needed - I assume that to mean it's okay to plan our next trip.

Hey, at least I'm aware of my addiction - and I seem to be in good company.

Maybe we could get group rates on therapy? I went in May/June and I'm already trying to figure out when to go next. I've been watching for the discounts, thinking we could do a long weekend in September. But, it looks like its a bad month for DH and October through December are bad for me because of work. AAAARRRRGH!

I have found some solace in planning vacations for my friends though, it's like living through them in a small way. It's not quite the fix I'd like, but I guess it will do until I can start planning my own next trip.

See ya on the couch!

We were there in Febuary for a conference and stayed at WL and enjoyed WDW without ever "doing " anything Disney. We were back in April for Spring break and I thought we were done for the next year. But alas we had to use a airline voucher soon - so 5 days,4nights in August. We have never been when its this hot but with no kids along we will be very leisurely in our approach. Maybe a little World Showcase, a parade or two, some pool time with boat drinks and whatever happens. Our friends think were crazy, but they just don't get it.:earsboy:

We've been three times in less than a year, with two more trips scheduled before the end of 2004! Time to buy APs, perhaps??

:earseek: I am a total Disney Spaz, hence the name I gave myself. My DH looks at me like I am nuts! We use to go every 2 years then we got AP in 2002 and found ourselves justifying multiple trips. At first my husband said he would never get how I feel about WDW but then last Nov he came home from work and said lets go to Disney this weekend. After a lecture from me about how you just don't joke about going to WDW he sat down and planned an entire trip. Then three months ago when his leg was mildly cut with a chainsaw he chose to tattoo Stitch over the scar climbing out. Now our youngest DS, 13 decided he was going to plan a trip. He was amazed at the cost but after a lot of work his effort convinced my DH to sign us up for another trip this Christmas. I like to think that slowly I am converting my family into the Disney Spaz I am:mickeybar princess:

It's nice to know there's other people as crazy as me out there. I'm never truly happy unless I'm planning a trip to DW. I wish we could go more than once a year but I won't complain too much. Every year DH makes me promise that it will be our last trip for a while but on the way home he asks me when I'm giong to book next year's trip. Next summer seems so far away!

My DD4 is a WDW junkie. On our drive home from our past trip in May, she was already asking when we could go back. I told her for Christmas and she was happy with that answer. Little does she know that we're going on a surprise trip next month. I hadn't planned on it since I'm not one who enjoys the heat, but when the August codes came out, I couldn't resist. 31 more days...

ok last october we spent 7 wonderful nights at akl to celebrate my son's 6th b-day and all my friends were saying"oh your going there AGAIN:rolleyes: we justfied the expense of savannah view as it being our last trip for a long while..well needless to say we went in may for 5 days(you know star wars/end of school celebration)and guess what:crazy: we are now going for 8 days in early december at wl--i don't even tell my friends where im going now--if they dont see the magic i guess its their loss:tongue: at least i have you crazy people to share it with::yes::

Hey move over and give me a space on the therapy couch!

Last year we had a wonderful time and I told everyone that I was not going to take a big vacation this year. That they don't change things enough to go to Disney every year. Well....that didn't last long, I blame it on my mother because she was the one that said one day..."Let's go to Disney again this year" I didn't even pause to say "Let's start planning!"

I haven't told everyone in my family especially my best friend and my father because they don't understand spending that amount on a vacation, when I could go somewhere less expensive. Well I don't like those places and I work hard at what I do so I'm going. Heck...we're already talking time frame for next year's trip!!

I am addicted too...............

When I got married 9 years ago (1995), hubby wanted to go to disney for our honeymoon- I opted for Aruba-

Our next vacation I promised would be disney- that took place summer 1997.

Since 1997 (our first disney trip) we have gone back EVERY summer- this year will be our 8th trip!!!!

We always say we will try something different, but we always end up at disney- great summer rates and our daughter (now 5) loves it!

It has truly become our "vacation home"- We love it!

Hi,

I don't think that there is anything wrong with that at all. We are going over the Labor Day holiday and are now thinking of doing a 5 day trip over New Years. When I told people at work we were going for 3 nights, they thought I was crazy, for flying out there with only two days to spend. We've been before so one day at MK and one day at AK, plus one morning at AKL on the day we leave.

If you need anymore proof that we are addicted, it is 11:18 pm cst and we are still on the Disney board.

I'm so glad I've found this little support group for Disney addicts! I got the idea to go on Spring Break to Disney all the way back last September and became totally obsessed, discovering the multitude of Disney sites there are online (this being my fave, of course). After our trip (aka the best week EVER)...I unforunately went back to real life...only to just recently feel Disney fever again!! I know I want to go again next year, hopefully in March or April again...tho no plans can be made until my boyfriend and I get real jobs! So for now I've just been perusing the boards and dreaming of our future trips, all the fun and romantic things I want to do...I get freakishly happy at even the thought of planning a Disney trip in the future!
