WDW 40th celebrations

Hi guys,

I know DLP do lots of celebrations for all their birthdays, I was wondering if WDW are doing anything special to celebrate their 40th this year? We are going to be there just a few weeks before the actual birthday, so I'm just curious

Haven't really seen too much officially confirmed but there was a whole range of merchandise just released in commemoration of the 40th anniversary.

There really hasn't been much fuss made of the 40th Birthday other than, as 2Tiggies says, a range of merchandise. I don't think they are doing anything special in the parks

Do check out wdw celebrations which is a disney fan based group who do events around the official events (if any) that Disney puts on. These people formed after the management at Epcot at first didn't plan anything for Epcot's anniversary. They have quite a bit planned and at a quick glance it looks like a lot of fun meets!

I was hoping for a year and a bit of celebrations like they have in the past not just a few days!
We go on 13th Dec 2012 so was hoping the celebrations would start Oct 1st 2011 and run thru till end Dec 2102.

Oh well!

I registered with them a few weeks back. I was convinced WDW would announce something official but even I'm having my doubts now.
