WDW - 1st trip- How long?

My family always goes for 5 days and it has always worked for us. If it is within your budget to stay longer, go for it! Just know that you will have time for plenty of great experiences with a 5 day ticket. If you go knowing that you can't do everything, and decide to make the most of the time you have, you will be fine. You will only get stressed out if you try to do it all. That being said, if you know there are lots of experiences you want to have that are time consuming, more time would be great. If you don't have funds to add days to your ticket, you can still stay longer because there are plenty of other things to enjoy. When my family goes, we do a 5 day ticket but always take 2 days to experience Downtown Disney and the resorts. So we still have a week long vacation. Whatever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful trip! I'm sure you will get addicted to Disney like many of us!

  • Go for what you an afford
  • Don't try to see everything
  • Succumb to the realization that you will be back, many times
  • Plan to take it slow. Don't go commando in attempt to get your money's worth. You want to have down time.
My first time as an adult, I went for one day. Then I came for 3, then a week. I am now up to 2 weeks. Trips to the happiest place on earth are always too short. At this rate, I will buy a house outside the gate and go daily. :tilt:

Agree! The first time we went we flew down Thanksgiving morning and stayed only till the Tues after. And it was Very busy till Mon.
We were just talking about it the other day, how much we accomplished in just three whole days and two half days! We go for two weeks now, but also go to the Dark Side too.
We had a plan to do the must sees, and also didn't sleep and got to the parks at opening. Also it helped that we stayed at the Contemporary, having the monorail was a Big time saver!
I would suggest to have a plan and you will be just fine. Enjoy your trip!!

I would recommend 7 nights and at least one day in the middle to rest at the resort and sleep. We always went commando style when our family was young. Then learned to pace oursleves and take a break in the afternoon. The important thing to remember is you can't do it all in one trip.

How long can you afford? It doesn't matter if you go 3 or 14 days, you'll never see it all, there's plenty to do no matter how long you go. If 5 days is a good comfort for your budget and time from school/work than perfect! If your looking to do it more relaxed, go as long as you are comfortable spending.
