We have booked to stay at the Yacht Club for 3 nights in September and phoned up today to extend our stay for another 2 nights. Now here's the thing: they want us to pay a $10 admin charge to amend the booking to include the 2 extra nights. I know that $10 isn't very much in the grand scheme of things and could just about understand the charge if we were changing dates or even resorts but I refuse to pay out of principle - I thought that they would welcome (not penalise!) us for extending our stay (hardly a huge administration job?).
Of course if we make a completely new booking for the two nights we won't have to pay the ten dollars and they'll throw in an extra set of mini golf tickets, luggage tags and a confirmation letter sent by post. The question is: will they make us check out (vacate our room?) in the morning and then check in again in the afternoon?
Who knows why they have to make something so simple sooooo difficult

I love Disney. But its bureaucracy is second place only to the US govt.

If you make the 2 ressies instead of changing the one you have, then it is POSSIBLE that you would have to change rooms mid-stay. The room assigners will do their best to avoid that. But go in knowing that it is a possibility.

When you fax your room requests, note that the two ressies are a continuing stay. They really will try to accomodate you.

When I read things like this it makes me even happier that we are trying the Swan. I just called to add two extra nights to my existing reservations and they couldn't because we used hotwire for our original reservations. So they booked a 2nd reservation for us. I asked if I would have to switch rooms and I was told absolutely not. They noted on my new reservations that I was staying a total of 10 nights and indicated that I should have the same room. Hope we like it when we actually arrive. We have never stayed at a non-Disney resort before. I also hope that the person who told me that I wouldn't have to change is correct.:D

I LOVE Disney , but their "policies" are a pain in the A$$!

Customer friendly they are NOT (as far as their booking terms, etc...) In an economy like ours today you would think it would be different.
