My DH and I (26) are going to be at the World in December and I have
looked at the food pictures thread A LOT while trying to make our ADR's.
The food at Whispering Canyon looks really good but most of the people posting about it have kids and I am wondering if we should go there as just 2 adults (no kids). I know (from reading posts) that it can get pretty loud and rambunctious (sp?). Should we go?? Let me know what you think!!!!

We were there as 2 adults last Oct (actually the night Wilma hit). The food is very yummy! It can get a bit loud, with the pony races and all. It certainly won't be a quiet dinner, but if you clap along with the kids and songs, it can be fun too. You also may be able to ask to sit near the back or side of the restaurant space where it may be a bit less in the path of all the activity.
We really liked it a lot and will probably go back when we are staying at WL this Dec. :)

DH and I (26 &27) have been there twice with no kids. It can get loud, but not too much more than other Disney restaurants we have been in (including the signature ones), it's a fun atmosphere. They do have a quieter section in the back if you're really worried. We aren't too much into all of the going-on's and I think most servers can tell who's really into it and who's not. We both loved the skillet at dinner and will be returning this December.

I took my 27 y/o son and his then 8 y/o daughter there January '05. I didn't tell my son anything about the hijinks and wasn't sure if he'd go for it or not. He loved it. By the end of the meal the waitress was calling him "Coke Boy', made our section do the Hokey Pokey, our table was covered in catsup, and the waitress had tried to set my son up with two young ladies at a table close to us (after getting assurance from his daughter that he was single). It was a blast. He was rather tentative at first, but quickly got into it. As soon as she came to our table, threw the straws across the table and sarcastically asked him what he wanted and he tentatively asked for a menu and she yelled 'What do you think I am a waitress?", he knew this was no ordinary restaraunt.

Me and my husband (no kids) went last year and had a blast. Go, you will enjoy it!

MyDH and I have been many times without kids. It's all about having fun and what you make of it!!! I love BBQ and it's a good time. I hate to admit we are not going this time. I lost sleep over this - it will be our 1st time not going. We decided to eat at TE Buffet and then go to the movies. We thought our DS would love it. OK, and us too.

DH and I don't have kids but we ate there and really enjoyed it. The food was good and it was fun watching the kids parade around on their ponies.

I've been twice without kids. Both times we weren't bothered at all by the activities. They're really unobstrusive but entertaining if you actually do want to pay attention. When we were there, there would be breaks in the activities, then they'd come out and do something else with the kids. I'd say go for it - good food and really not that loud/annoying.

We went there with us (in our 40s) and our parents (in their late 60s and 70s). My dad leaned over with this HUGE smile on his face and said "this ain't no whispering canyon". But he loved it. I joked with the server that we had crayons but nothing to color because we didn't have kids. He brought over Bear in the Blue House coloring sheets. Seeing my dad coloring that thing was a highlight. The best part was my stepmother getting up with me and doing the Hokey Pokey at the table. She had just been cancer free for five years and it was great seeing her loving life.

Disney World is for kids of all ages.

When we were there last month, the couple at the table next to us (without kids) was there celebrating their 35th anniversary! You could tell they'd been many times before, and they were really enjoying all the fun. It was our first time, and they were egging our kids on, telling them to ask for ketchup, etc. When they finished their meal, our server told them he had a little surprise for them. Then he brought out champagne and strawberries. It was really sweet and romantic, and a great way for a couple to celebrate (not just the "surprise," but WCC). Go for it!
