We have ADR's for WCC the first night of our trip. If our daughter likes it and we want to go back for dinner a second time, do they take walk-ups? I know it would be a long wait - that's ok since we are staying there. Do they fill up with ADR's and then not take walk-ups?

You could try for a walk-up, but I'd try to decide earlier in the trip if we wanted to return later in the trip. In 2003, we stayed at WL, went to WCC and decided it was good enough to return to later in the trip. I called the ADR people from the hotel (there's a courtesy phone in the lobby) and made an ADR for a couple of days later. It was very easy to get in then.

Since ADRs are free to make and free to cancel, why not make another one now. Then if your daughter doesn't like it, simply call Disney to cancel it. It will be a lot easier to cancel it later in the week, then to make one. Just if you're going to cancel it, make sure to do so in advance, so someone else can get it! :goodvibes

If you get there right at 5 on a weeknight, you will have to wait but you should be able to eat there. But, I would make the ADR earlier in the trip if you think this is a possibility because they do get pretty busy.

BTW, I suggest going for the skillet since it has a variety of food. The ribs, chicken and BBQ are all very good along with the mashed potatoes. Sausage, its alright but not a fav of ours.

You caould call disney dining that same day or the day before and they are not too hard to get that way, as long as you are a little flexable on time.

We walked up around 5:30 and were seated in a few minutes. We were staying at WL so for us is wasn't a problem. Just from passing it at various times during the week, it seemed the later it was the more crowded it became. If she likes it, maybe make an ADR for later in the week. You could always cancel.

We were staying there in July and managed 2 walk-ups for WCC. It was just my hubby and me, but we were seated at a table for 4 both times.

My best suggestion for scoring a successful walk-up (ANYWHERE in the world) would be to go during 'off' times....ie....brekkie either very early (7:30am) or late (10:30am), lunch (11am or 1:30-2pm), dinner (4:30pm or 8pm).

Best of luck!

We arrived at WL (after being up since 5 AM) around 12:30 PM. As I checked us in my DH and kids went over to WCC see about lunch.
By the time I was done checking in (about 15 mins) - our table was ready.
After lunch we asked if our room was ready- and it was.
Great timing.

This was a busy time of year on a Saturday.
Last week of June 2006 - all WDW resorts were booked solid. The Parks were packed with people.

I think it may be harded to do a walkup at WCC for dinner.
Lunch is not as busy - my guess, guests do not want to leave MK for lunch.

Enjoy !
