We're trying to decide whether to go to Whispering Canyon Cafe for lunch or for dinner (already decided we're going to go for one or the other). The menu on DIS (updated 8/07) says the dinner skillet includes ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and sausage, for $22.49. The menu on allears (updated 3/08) says it includes ribs, chicken, pulled pork, and peel-n-eat shrimp, still for $22.49. Did they really swap out the sausage for shrimp and leave the price the same? Thanks!

It looks like the lunch menus are the same (ribs, chicken, sausage) but the price increased from $15 to $16.

We ate there for lunch on the 18th of September and the skillet included the ribs, chicken, corn, baked beans, mashed potatos, corn bread and sausage.:goodvibes

The dinner does have the shrimp and not the sausage.
Personally, I prefer the sausage there, even though I normally prefer shrimp.

As far as going lunch or dinner, they're both good. Gee, I'd just pick whatever fits into your schedule better.

I saw a recent picture that included shrimp. We love shrimp, but it just seems strange in the picture. I liked the sausage too, although there is so much other stuff I probably wouldn't miss it.

When we went for dinner (granted it was almost 2 years ago), there was sausage and shrimp as well as everything else listed in the skillet. I don't know if it has changed, very possible, but it did have both at the time.
I don't like sausage or shrimp, so I didn't try those, but the family enjoyed both, and I liked everything else very much...

Really? We've been going to WCC for years and I don't remember shrimp.

Menu changed yesterday...shrimp is gone for dinner. Replaced with sliced beef brisket. I haven't tried it but everyone who did said it was great. Price went up a dollar to two but I didn't work yesterday so I'll find out the exact price today. Not sure about the lunch menu as I work dinner only.

We went for dinner on September 8--but won't be going back (DH got sick on the food and I thought it was overrated). We had the skillet: it had: corn on the cob, mashed potatos, cole slaw, ribs, chicken, pulled pork and peel and eat shrimp.

Hey a CM, are you a silly one?
We love WCC so much, can't wait to go back in November. I am happy about the shrimp (I don't eat shrimp) but the brisket sounds good. When we went our server was Head of Lettuce, is she still there? She was great our kids talk about her all the time still (almost 2 years later.)
You guys do a great job there, so much fun.....

Wow, this is the place to come for up-to-the-minute answers! :worship: Thank you. Mmmm, brisket. I'd love to know whether that's for dinner only, or both. If it's only at dinner, that might make the decision for us. :thumbsup2 I'd also appreciate updated prices for both meals, if possible. Thanks again to everyone for your input! :disrocks:

As of right now, brisket is on the dinner skillet only. They do have a brisket sandwich on the lunch menu. The dinner skillet is now $26.99 per person. Not sure of the lunch prices as I work dinner only and didn't look at a lunch menu yesterday at work.

Went last summer for lunch after 2 previous dinners. I really missed the pulled pork at lunch.

Brisket? Will dinner still include the pulled pork?

Heada - errr I mean Suzannews

Since I'll be traveling with someone who has shellfish allergies, if the shrimp is again on the menu in Dec, what can we substitute?

Oh My gosh, You are kidding me??? That is so funny. My kids talk about you all the time. The younger ones ask "can we go to the Heada Lettuce Place? " They loved you. I think you are even in at least one of the photos we have of that night. It really is a "Small World" (sorry, had to do it!) After that night we all decided that WCC had to be a family tradition for our first night so we will be back there in 53 days!!! I can't wait till thye get home to tell them about this "meeting".
And I answered my own question, YES, you are one of the silly people there!!! Anyway, we loved it there, you made it a blast and who knows, maybe we wil lbe seeing you again in 53 DAYS!!!!!!!

Thanks, Suzanne! We will plan on dinner!
Hope to see you there in January...my 10-year-old will happily sing any Bon Jovi tune you'd like to request. :rockband:

I didn't even realize the picture in the bottom of your post... I will have to look through our photos for sure.
I told the kids at dinner tongiht that I "ran into you" on the DIS boards. They thought that was so cool. We hope to see you in November...
