We ate at both places in July.
Kona was delicious. I had mahi-mahi, and it was one of the better meals on our 8 night stay. The kids liked their food; DH enjoyed his. The atmosphere is nice though not spectacular, but DH really liked the look of it. The service was very professional and good. Desserts are phenomenal and really superior. We ate both lunch and dinner here on the trip and enjoyed both meals.
WCC was mediocre. The food was edible but not special. I had grouper and it was decent; DH had meat loaf which he liked. The kids didni't like their grilled cheese and chicken fingers nearly as much as they did over at Kona. My appetizer was a salad that was really lousy. The desserts were not worth the calories. The service was decent but not great. And the atmosphere did not make up for the trip over to WL or the mediocre food. The antics we'd enjoyed on a previous trip were essentially gone this time although there were pony races for the kids and the ketchup thing.
I think you can see which I'd recommend. Hands down--no question about it.
