WCC lunch question...

I saw in a few threads that they yell 'Come & Get It' when Whispering Canyon opens...do they do this for lunch and is it a daily thing or subject to the mood of the waitstaff like the other fun stuff? My girls can't stop talking about the 'Cowboy place' and keep yelling "Come & Get It" whenever we look at pictures or talk about the menu...I have visions of them being ready for antics when no one else is

AFAIK, it is best not to count on any particular antics at WCC. It's not like a scripted show, like HDD, and so what happens is pretty random. That's part of the charm. Having said that, I do believe they do the Come and Get It routine each afternoon when the restaurant opens for dinner. I've never heard it done for lunch, but that doesn't mean it isn't ever.

They did the big yell in 2004 when we ate lunch there.

If you want antics, be sure to "ask" for them. You could mention it when checking in, but some servers "sense" that people don't want them, and then don't do them. Play with your server, and if they are any good, they will play right back. Ours threw 30 straws at us when she brought our drinks; we decorated the table with some of them, and opened up every one and put every straw in our drinks. From then on, she knew we were up for it. We had a late dinner there, so we made her sit down and tell us more about the restaurant, and the antics. She says some days the guests just seem to want to be left alone, so the servers just serve, but that they are trained to entertain, so they like to do it if you are up for it. Some are more animated than others, and each has there own "signature", like the waitress who decorated everyone at the tables hairdo's with straws, and ours was very loud. We asked her to take our picture, and after confirming it was indeed a digital camera, she went around taking pictures of her and other staff members and guests at other tables. It was my DH's bday, so she made him ride a stick horse around the room and sing "happy birthday to me" real loud. It was fun Do the now obvious "ask for ketchup" and order a large water, etc.. Look like you want to have fun, and the servers will pick up on it. And have fun!

When I dined there last, I had a ressie for 12pm (which is when they open for lunch). I checked in about 11:45am and at 12pm, the hostess yelled come & get it. I really enjoyed the food here. I was not really interested in the pranks and stuff and my server was very respectful of that.
