On allears it lists for kids options, grilled chicken tenders, fish of the day and the skillet...........now my 8 yr old son is very picky. He will not eat any of those options. My question is...can you possibly get the tenders fried or possibly get something like a grilled cheese? I really want to eat here as it looks like great fun, but want to make sure my son will have something to eat as well. So any feedback would be awesome :sulley:

I'm sure someone has more information than I do, but we stayed at Wilderness Lodge in May, we wanted to eat there with our picky son, and we asked if they would do a grilled cheese and the hostess didn't know what grilled cheese was (my sister had to explain it to her)! :confused3:confused3 So, we didn't venture in. I don't know about nuggets, or any other options. We wanted to try it, too, but they weren't very accomodating that night!

they CERTAINLY will make grilled cheese.. I'm a picky 31 yo, and that's what I get when I eat there.. Eaten there abot half a dozen times - was there in Feb and had it.. so YES YES YES to grilled cheese at whispering canyon.. oh, and don't forget to ask for the ketchup when you get your meal!:thumbsup2

When we went in January they made chicken nuggets for our daughter even though it wasn't officially on the menu but the waitress didn't act like it was a big deal to make them! Don't worry! :goodvibes

We ate there twice for dinner on our trip 6/24- 7/3 and ds, 12, got chicken nuggets, an adult portion, both times. No big deal at all.
BTW- he was also able to get chicken nuggets at sci fi (the waiter got them from ABC commiss. next door for us) and Kona cafe. None of those places list chicken nuggets on their menus

Possibly pasta w/tomatoe sauce. My granddaughter (2yo) is latose intolerant and every place we went offered her this as an option. At WCC the chef told us EVERYTHING in the skillet is cooked in butter, so the skillet was not an option for her. While I know you were not concerned with food issues, they should be able to throw together some pasta for your child.

thank you for responding.............i've been researching dining for months now and this place just looks yummy and i don't want to miss out!

as a side note, the only place on property where I have ever been DENIED a grilled cheese sandwich, was at 50s prime time cafe at MGM... =) They don't have grills to make it there they claim. =(:sad2:

As already posted, yes you can get a grilled cheese or nuggets. Usually have peanut butter and jelly uncrustables also.

Nooo!

I can't believe they cook all of it in butter. I guess my niece will have to have the pasta dish. I was thinking she could eat the corn if they would make it without butter-she hardly eats any veg. but she does like corn.

I know I too was surprised. We thought the 2 yo could eat free since several members were ordering the skillet. Since she could eat nothing on the skillet, we had to pay OOP for a meal for her that contained no dairy.

Wow, can't believe they charged you also.

I have heard of other people getting a chef for their under 3 yr old and the chef brought out things for the child and they weren't charged.

We got the chef. Actually he was the one who told us that everything in the skillet was cooked with butter. We also got the bill too. We've been paying OOP for her her last 2 trips with a third one next month. She just turned 2 late May. So paying for her meals is not a big deal anymore. However, we did put our foot down when we ate in Norway and they wanted to charge her for the buffet (dinner) because the chef had to make her food for her. We questioned why we were being charged for a 2 yo at a buffet and they did take it off the bill.
