Yet another thing to discover on the cold EB TA...those warm tile loungers and hot showers:goodvibes I never did make it to the Rainforest Room either!

Kathe

hey now, monica, lisa and I have first dibs, but you can come too since there are 4 of them, but watch out since Michelle will try to claim one as hers too :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hey Holly... how's work going ???

& how was the little gathering of the bosses/manager???
It's interesting. Not sure if anything happened, but something must have because yesterday, Mr. Energizer Bunny found out that one of his people has been taken away. A little birdie let the info leak out. :rolleyes1

Actually, all I did was email him (he was working from home yesterday) and tell him that I have full confidence that Jen (the new girl) and I can get caught up, as long as the other side of the office leaves her alone and quits bringing her the work their own secretaries aren't doing. He emailed back asking me what the heck is going on. He said, "I thought you both were fully dedicated to me and my side of the office". I told him what has been happening and suddenly, today she was left alone. :rotfl2:

He came in briefly today to drop off more major piles of work, and asked me if we're both working just for him today and I told him yup, no problems anymore. I assume he said something and got his way, yet again. :thumbsup2

Gross and painful. I usually take a pain killer before each appointment, but I forgot to this time so it hurt a little more. The doctor called John to his side while examining. Of course, I can't see because the wounds are on the back of the calf on my right leg. So I have the leg up on the chair, knee down on the cushion while I'm standing on the floor next to the chair. Awkard position, but that's the easiest way for the doctor and nurse to do their job. So I'm only HEARING the doctor tell John, "push away the opening of the wound and get under the ridge and pour some iodine solution right into the opening." Oh My God, so gross. He wants to work on drying it out. The leaking is causing the infections.

Then the nurse talked to me about a hyperbaric chamber that they have there to use. It heals wounds faster. She said some people have open wounds for three years. OMG. I'm just past one year of this and I'm fed up. She said it's a two hour session once a day for five days for six weeks at $2k a pop. I said my insurance won't cover it. My insurance covers the idiot doctor that I went to in the first place, but not this doctor. I have to pay for him myself. I also have to pay for all of my materials to wrap the leg. My insurance does not cover it. I'm sure they wouldn't cover the hyperbaric chamber.......whatever that is. It sounds like I don't want to do it anyway. John and the nurse said it's nothing, just increased oxygen and then decreasing it again. I don't know. Even if I could get the insurance company to cover it, I'm not so sure. I would have to find out more about it.

Deb  Sorry you are still going through this. Hope this is the year it all clears up and you feel so much better

Hi all ,I'm going to attempt to get caught up again! I was supposed to go out for dinner and on a shopping spree with my daughter last night....we both had bad days at work and had to work late . So we cancelled and will attempt to go out next Wed instead. I have requested a quote from my TA for both the EB and WB TA but am leaning towards the EB. Yes, it will probably be cooler :cold: But I didn't even finish reading one book our last cruise, so maybe I'll have more time to curl up with a coffee and book this cruise :goodvibes With our Canadian winters, I certainly don't lack in warm clothing ;) I have the sun for the B2B in 2009 and we still have CC with the TA...so I'm thinking it will be okay!!!??

Kathe
Kathe, we're thinking the same. Folks like us who are used to cold, will be very comfortable on this cruise. What's cold for some will be nice for us. At least I hope!

I have to make some phone calls this afternoon to restaurants to see who is having Thanksgiving dinner. I'll be home this year and it's just going to be me and John and Ray. The kid is going on a Royal Caribbean cruise with his mom and her family. I think we got him hooked on cruising when we took him on DCL last Halloween. He booked this cruise when we got home. He's doing the 7 night Eastern Caribbean.....same stops as DCL. I'm not sure about price because of the category that he's sailing and he's sharing a room with his grandfather (his mom's dad). I think he paid $700, but no balcony. I don't even think he has a window.....it might be an inside cabin. So he won't be here for Turkey Day. We decided to go out to eat. No leftovers......mom would always give me a doggy bag of everything that we ate. Better for the diet, I suppose.

Our Thanksgiving is this weekend! I'm working Sat night until midnight, then Sunday until 2:00 :headache: But then Sara and Trevor and I are going to my SIL's for turkey dinner Sunday :thumbsup2 We are closed on Monday...I am going to sleep in and then start washing, ironing and packing for our trip to WDW in a few weeks :goodvibes

Girl, you missed all of yesterday's conversations! Yes, I already submitted my request form to my TA to be waitlisted for this one. :thumbsup2

Oh Deb, so pretty! How nice to not have any neighbors.

That is one thing that I LOVE about living here. We have the least amount of acreage and we have just under 3 acres. Everyone around us has from 20 to 300+ acres......it is nice. Yes, it is beautiful too......but I miss the ocean.

Oh Deb, how awful. I think it's really crappy how expensive medical care is and how little some insurance plans cover.

And we have great insurance!!! John works for a medical and dental university with a hospital on campus. We have great insurance......as long as we stay within the plan. If we go outside their group, we pay in full. They will eventually reimburse, but it's minimal.....it's not even close to the amount you paid. Oh well......healthcare is just big business.....out to make a profit.....insurance companies too.

Beautiful Deb :goodvibes Is there skiing in Blue Mountain? Years ago when I was around 11, I went with my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins to a Blue Mountain ...the same :confused3 They had a chalet there, I remember how beautiful it was. Besides trying skiing for the first time,my cousin and I went on a day long hike up a hill through the forest :thumbsup2

Kathe

YES there is.....I told John today that we should take a ride this weekend and shoot some more pictures. We said we should go to our local winery, the lake and to the top of Blue Mountain so you could really see the elevation.

Unfortunately, we don't ski. John hates the snow as much as he hates sand. It makes him grumpy. He He Ha Ha!

Blue Mountain has skiing and tubing in the winter and waterslides in the summer. All the local ski areas around here do that. But I'm not 20 anymore and the height and drop just make me dizzy looking at it.....forget about if it's slippery too......No Way!

Hi Kathe

Deb - your photos are beautiful and very colourful.

Scottishwee35

Thanks Deb, I know yours are too and I would love to see pictures of your neighborhood also. If you have a chance, could you post some please? The one we saw of Olivia outside was a beautiful area.

Looking forward to seeing you back here on Friday. Thanks for the link, it was very informative. I love how much we get to learn from each other on this site. :grouphug:

I LOVE that about all of us too. How great is that!:goodvibes

DId you guys see where someone posted that the final payment date for the Med/Baltic will be at 120 days! :scared1: Did anyone notice that mentioned on the DCL site????

That would make final payment for the first Baltic only about four months after Tortola.....eewwwwww! EXCEPT...I'd be wanting to pay at 90 days anyway for on line booking...so that's really only a month difference. Looks like they want people to fish or cut bait earlier. Better go hunt down the facts on this rumor.

IAN - Have an easy fast!
