This is... exactly what it is... PIG ROCK!!!

Story behind it is that the kids from Deerfoot lodge paint it every year... They were going to blast it out of there when they widened the road but they got petitions up and finally they moved it... Gotta love it... It's a pig in the middle of nowhere...

& just so you can see how big it is... (and that's the sign for Deerfoot in the distance)

THAT'S HILARIOUS! That should be a travel goal for us all.....to go see PIG ROCK! I love it!

So my brother's ex wife called me today. We never speak to each other except for when we have to. She said my nephew is doing great in boot camp and he'll be graduating on December 19 in Parris Island, SC. He's officially a marine. I have to go to his graduation. I have to see him in his uniform. I'm sorry my mom missed seeing him doing this.

So I have another trip to plan......I'm going to South Carolina in mid December. I've already booked us an oceanfront room at a hotel in Hilton Head. I wanted to check out flying as opposed to driving. I don't even know what airports are near there. Anybody have a clue.....Monica???

This is Rt. 30 just past the pig (see pig snout in side of pic...)

Ok... this one gets me.. along with deer crossing signs... LIKE THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE THEY CROSS!!! They need a moose crossing guard... funny thing... this was the first place to be repopulated with moose in the Adks... so they put up these signs and the first set... promptly were stolen...

This is Melody Lodge... used to be a music school... now a very nice restaurant...

I have to preface this by telling you one thing... when I was a teen we used to sneak in to Melody for some underaged drinking (this was when the drinking age was still 18...) Of course it was late at night and it wasn't until years later that I realized... IT HAD A VIEW!!!!

This is looking out towards Lake Sacandaga (not to be confused with the GREAT Sacandaga...)

& that's MY lake...

This is from the beach next to Watersedge where we stayed since I was 11 (until they sold it off last year...)

This is my mountain... do I own it personally??? No, but I've been looking at it for 40 years so I've claimed it...

Another looking back up the lake from where my friends have cabins...

& there's mom... tresspassing as usual...

Here is a shot of our old place... the new owners are tearing it apart... Where you see all the building in the background is where my efficiency was...

See that tree on top...it's my tree... my mountain... MY tree!!! (of course everyone ELSE has claimed that tree also...)

This is the inlet that we canoe/kayak through to Lake Sacandaga... (Good place to fish by the way Bubba...)

& we conclude your tour with a sunset shot from the parking lot of Charlie Johns Store, post office and bank...
