I'm going to see "Flash of Genius" later today. It's really feeling like fall here! We had a little cold snap the last couple of days. I noticed while I was driving yesterday that some of the trees are JUST starting to change. Whooo hooo!:cool1: I love fall! My favorite season! And October is my favorite month!

Have a great day, everyone!:goodvibes

Morning All & Ian:

Hanging out here watching Myth Busters with the girls. Molly had a friend over night. The Boys headed to Monterey/Salinas for a race. Just a club race, but getting ready for the IKF there in a couple of weeks. Turns out that Wilson got 4th place points for his 1st place DQ race, so he wants to finish the series as he still can catch the kid in 3rd place (who is a friend) Good Competition for him.

Paul and I decorated last night for halloween. Just outside, well a couple of things in the kitchen too. Lights up outside, flying bats, wind socks.

Gotta run to the store to get a pork roast for the crock pot. We're having those pulled pork sandwhiches again for dinner tonight yum!

Well, I am supposed to go to WDW for fall break Oct. 9-14 with my brother and the kids. However, he is starting to say that he is not going. AND, I am a little worried about going with just the kids because my brother keeps my son entertained when he gets bored and antsy while I drive around WDW and get us from point a to point b. So, if he doesnt' go, I will probably cancel. I will be out some money for the hotel because I rented a timeshare from a lady and it is non-refundable, but I could cancel the Southwest Flights and get a refund in ticketless travel funds. I think.

Hi Cheri!!!!

Tammy - SW isn't refundable, but you can apply the money to future travel if done within 12 months.

Yep, I'm sure folks are looking at every extra penny they spend. I have concerns about the cost of my program (it's that shipping charge that is putting me over the edge), but I'm looking at it as an investment in my health. If I were having to take regular meds for blood pressure or something like that, I wouldn't be considering stopping that! (PLUS, one hour of overtiime each week covers the shipping cost.):thumbsup2

.

What I don't think WW promotes enough is that meetings can be paid for with HSA's which means you can reimburse yourself with pretax dollars.

No sure if you can do that with the program you're on or not.

Hey, I don't have any kids.....John does, but his kids are adults and his grandkids are teens.....now living in Florida. So when we go to WDW it's just for us!

It sounds like your brother may be torn between you and your mother. He may decide to do nothing so as not to offend either one of you. You're right it's not the end of the world, but it's a committment that he made to you and it's inconsiderate to waste your money. Then again, he's your brother so all is forgiven.

The Hawaii cruise for Christmas sounds devine!!!! Who are you travelling with? What cruise line? Where do you embark/debark? What are the ports of call? Can you adopt me so that I can go with you???

Hopefully, your brother will do the right thing. Maybe you should go without him???:confused3 :confused3

Well, he says he is still going. At least for now so I have started getting things packed.

For Hawaii cruise, it is me and my two kids and my brother all squeezed into a tiny inside cabin on the Celebrity Mercury. LOL. It sails out of San Diego into Hawaii for five days and then back to San Diego. It is 15 nights. Then we are spending three nights in San Diego, a place I have never been.

We are visiting Kona and Hilo, Honolulu, and two days in maui, and a short stop in Ensenada. Since the cabin only sleeps four, i am afraid I can't adopt you. I booked it last year at this time, having no idea of the terrible year ahead. I am glad that I decided to keep it though. It has gone up since I booked over 2000 dollars for the same tiny inside cabin. I am glad I will be gone for Christmas, it would be too hard to be home.

Hi Tammy! What a story! That's the downside of planning a trip with other people (especially flaky relatives!:rotfl2: )

All my relatives are flaky. LOL. But he is going, for now. I had a week reserved last summer for my friends to go to WDW with me and they canceled on me too. I will not be inviting them again. Just don't need the grief.

My numbers were really down today. It's goofy because one of my meetings used to have nearly 70 people.

Next Sunday is the Chicago Marathon and it goes past the WW location I work at. I can only imagine what this is going to do.

Last year it took me nearly 1.5 hourn hour to get home. Normally it's about 15 minutes.

--------

It's a very gray day here. I think I'm just going to stay in and bake some chocolate Vitamuffins.

That is VERY funny......what a cute little guy with lots of imagination. Where does he get this stuff from???
I don't know, kids are just funny! Well, it's very, very red. Tyler took a picture of me outside, I'll post it later. Not a good picture, he was just messing around and caught me off guard, but it shows the color.

Hi All!!! Will check in later... mom just went to the store and I have some things to do here...

Pictures to come!!!

The problem is, he doesn't have any kids. AND, I told him that I wasn't going if he didn't go and then he said he would go and then I booked it. I would lose the 440 dollars I paid to rent the timeshare at Bonnet Creek so I am bit tiffed. My mom is trying to convince him to blow me off and come to see her instead. And he is supposed to be coming on the cruise to Hawaii this Christmas, and it is paid in full and non refundable. Ugh!! He better not cancel out on that one!

It is not the end of the world, but I am a bit upset as you can tell. I guess I should just get over it and stop worrying about it. It is not the end of the world.
Tammy, you have every reason to be upset. Doesn't he realize you'll be losing money if he decides not to go? He should at least cover the amount you'll be losing, but hopefully you can convince him to go. How rude of him.

Well, he says he is still going. At least for now so I have started getting things packed.

Well I hope that he doesn't change his mind and that you all have the best time ever! It'll be a lot of fun to go during Halloween and the Food and Wine Festival. You should all have a blast!

I've heard that Celebrity is a good cruise line to travel with. Let us know what you think of them when you return. I'm curious to see how you like them.

That's great that you only have to fly to San Diego. That sounds like the way that I would like doing it.....and, of course, we love the 15 night cruises. That sounds perfect Tammy. I have never been to San Diego either so I would definitely take some extra time to explore.

Aw Shucks! LOL......guess I'll have to get DH to take me there!

You're going to have a good time. It's a good thing that you kept your reservation. It's amazing how much money you save by booking early.

I fully understand how you don't want to be home for Christmas. Last summer I lost my mom and I ran away for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I just could not be home. I struggled through New Years and Easter and I was on our cruise for Mother's Day. I struggled with her birthday and the one year anniversary. It's difficult and it was just easier when I wasn't home.....it helped me get through the first year. This year I will be home and I don't know how it's going to affect me yet. I will find out.

Hugs to you and the kids to help you through these hard times.

Can't wait to see the picture of your new hair color!

Oh good, I'm glad he's still going.

And the Hawaii cruise sounds wonderful! :goodvibes

Just a tease... until I get back from Walmart... (sorry Ian... but i have too...)

This is Wells... the town below us (south...) This view is of the red barn that is still left from the old farmhouse that my mom stayed in in 1940... both of my great grand parents had died 8 days apart and my grandmother couldn't bare to go back to the bungalow at the shore that summer so my grandfather took my mom and lots of others up to Wells...

We look for the barn every time we go past. Mom talks of having fresh milk each day and how the parents used to take turns babysitting each night so the rest of the adults could go to the Overrock and drink...:rotfl:
