I just realized something. When we were watching what I think was a rerun episode tonight of Extreme Makeover Home Edition, I noticed that all the people in hardhats and red or blue shirts on were standing way back in a big mass during the demolition of the old house. SO.....today when we drove by the street where they're doing the house here and we saw all of the people with hardhats and red or blue shirts standing in a big mass in the road, they must have been doing the DEMO! Otherwise, all those people would have working on the new house, not standing in the road watching. Cool to think of! I had my windows rolled down, hoping to hear Ty on his bullhorn! :rotfl:

Maybe demo... but they had them all color coordinated here when they did the house by us... I guess it made it easier to keep everyone apart... Kind of exciting isn't it... It's amazing that they do get it done in a week... I'd hate to be the neighbors though... a whole week with no sleep...:sad2:

OK, I'm watching Desperate Housewives and I'm thinking I must have missed that season opener too because I have NO fricking idea who some people are and what the heck is going on. I see they fast-forwarded a bunch of years, but I'm lost.

We are like 250 pages behind between threads 5 & 6. We are leaving for Orlando in 8 short days before getting back on the Magic on 9/11/08. Very excited!

We were hoping some would share their opinions for us. The girls really want to go to one of the waterparks this time. We have never been. Would you choose Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?

Thanks in advance.

Both are great... I think TL is a bit more relaxed than BB... Both have the lazy river... you'd have to check to see if the slides and such interest you one over the other... It's been a while since I've been there and they've added to it since then.

TL has a Bigger wave pool which throws one wave at a time, while BB has a wave pool that has constant smaller waves. Some people think that the bigger wave at TL is too much for small kids.

TL is more lush... BB is more open.

TL has the snorkeling area and the new water coaster...

I like them both. I don't think you can go wrong with either.

The news verified it, today was demo day. Very exciting! I guess it's a widow with 3 kids living in a house from the 1860s.

Something disturbing. When we were going to houses on the street behind ours to sell popcorn today, THREE houses we went to had a dead mouse on the front porch, and 2 of those houses had a baited mousetrap also sitting on their front porch. Um....that scares me because all those mice have to do is run through the backyards to MY HOUSE! :scared1: :scared: I have a HUGE phobia of those nasty critters getting into my house. I've never heard of people putting mousetraps outside their house. Does that keep them from ever getting inside? Or maybe they already have them inside and used poison and those are the mice that went outside to die? What the heck? Should I be doing something too? I'm freaked out now!

Interesting. The thing that makes me really mad is that I always lose weight if I'm sticking to my points. I've realized that I can actually eat more than my points and still lose. I would talk to some ladies at the meetings that swore they did everything right and they still gained. Why don't I stay on it? I just keep telling myself that I can't do this forever. Sometimes I feel like it is really easy and other times I feel like I am starving myself.

Consider trying Core or consider foods that might be more satisfying?

Thank you Ian.
This could describe me. I am the up 3 down 2, up 1 plateaued situation. And I have been contemplating not going to meetings. (Kind of the "why am I bothering" self talk). Thank you for sharing. I needed to hear this.

Isn't this the picture that inspired "Sunday in the Park with George?"

Thanks for point out the big picture. :goodvibes

Yes, it inspired the musical Sunday in the Park. It's at the Art Institute in Chicago.

I used the analogy of taking a step back today and it really resonated with my members. I think I was able to get them really charged up today.

One of my members said it best, "I'm trying to live my life like I'm at goal." What she meant was that at when she reaches goal, she might only get a couple of points more a day and needs to learn now how to change her behavior.

She's also a mixed media artist (we all found out today) and she said that sometimes a painting just "wants" to be different. She compared that to learning about what works for her and what doesn't work with losing weight. Letting thing progress more naturally.

It was an awesome day.

Hello everyone! I guess I did not realize that everyone was still around talking - Tink Rules invited me over to check in :) so I am checking in. I will try to go and catch up on everyone as time allows.

For those of you who remember we were putting in a swimming pool this summer and we are still not finished! I will post some pictures later. It is costing us so much I do not know if I will eer get to go on another cruise but am going to look into the any Repo cruises that may come up for 2010 (hopefully a TA one?).

I still have not unpacked everything from the cruise - placed everything into a suitcase and put it in my closet. I will get to it one day :)

Still have so many great memories of the cruise!

On a very sad note....Rest in peace Paul Newman!!!! You were a h e l l of a good race car driver!!!! You will be missed!!!!:sad1:

:sad1: my Paul just told me, so sad. He will be missed.

Just got a text from Nan... this is what she said...

Wil came in 2nd in his heat. It was a great race. His main race is up in an hour... send him good vibes please, pass the word along if you are posting.

Prayers and Pixie dust all around!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

:car: :car: :car: :car: :car: :car: :car:

GO SPEED WILSON!!!!!

The heat was awesome. Wilson and the other leader jockied back and forth for the lead trading 1st place 5 times, with Wilson ending up 2nd in the heat. It was a great race to watch.

Message from Nan... Wil won the 2nd race, but was DQ for the carborator...

We know that Wil along with every else likes to run the best race they can!!!

So we all say..

GO SPEED!!!!

Wil dropped back to 4th at the start but after the 1st corner, he grabbed back a spot, then next corner took 2nd, up the hill and took the leader on the inside upexpectedly which cause him (the other guy) to bump Wil who dash ahead and hit hard the 3rd place car, which went up on end on 2 wheels (almost flipped). Over the next 9 laps Wil lost the lead a couple of times, but then took it back just as quickly. At the white flag the leader of the series pushed him over the start/finish, followed him around the whole track and did the same thing at the checkered flag. She easily could have gone left or right and passed him, she has a smoken engine, but she didn't, she can't drive when it counts! Wilson kicked butt. The track was very technical and he just dominated the whole race. We are hoping for a tape to come to us in the next few weeks, I'll post to youtube as it comes.

Now the bad news....Wilson was disqualified based on a build up of carbon (not carborator..Michelle not the same thing ;) He was just one thread over, an extremely small amount which would not have helped his engine, which sucks compared to all the leaders, that can routinuely pass him on the straights, as they have all season long. He couldn't even keep the one lead he had (at one time about 8-10 car lenghts) because others have better gear (which means more money, sadly :sad2: , or cheating madly  ) Paul should have cleaned the carbon after Wilson's last race, but he passed the tech last time and so he just thought it was okay to let it slide. It wasn't :sad2: :sad1: Hard lesson learned. Your pit crew can never win a race, but they can lose it for you.

This was the 1st time Wilson had won an IKF race. These are the races that we travel around CA/OR for. The kids are the best of their clubs and have gone on to this level. Most of the time Wilson has placed 4th or 5th with this group of racers, but this time he was great. It was all track, lots of corners and elevation changes and Wilson can drive very well, but his engine isn't the best so most times the faster engines just dust him.

Anyways, it was a wonderful win. My sister and son were there to celebrate the victory. I was and am so proud for my son. I'm almost over being mad at Paul for his mistake.

Way to go Wilson!

:car: party: WELL DONE WILSON
