I'm not too sure the French like anybody!!!

The last time I went to France (Paris) I didn't have any problems w/ the people. I did however see Americans acting so badly that it doesn't/didn't surprise me that we're called "ugly americans". It was horrendous (sp?).

I try to learn some of the customs/language of what ever country I'm going to. I think this just shows the locals that I respect their country and don't expect anyone to conform to me (exp. speak english).

The muffins were good... Mom's love... what more could I ask for???

:lmao: :lmao: 3 responses came to mind when I read that: 1) its only strange when you answer yourself and 2) you care what people think :confused3 and 3) those who know you love you and those don't will think you're strange for your "ziplocs" tag ;) :rotfl2:

Thanks for the support and the love  I think I'm strange for my ziplock tag :lmao: :lmao:

We expect people to speak English so it isn't weird that they expect us to know their language. I didn't talk to anyone at the ports except people trying to sell me things. We don't have to talk to them and if we do we need to speak French!

Just popped on quickly this am to see how what your sis was doing Michelle...I see she decided to evacuate...good news. I hope that things go well for all those in Texas...this looks like it could be rough one.

The girls' new schedules are exhausting...by the time we get done with dance, soccer, piano, homework and dinner...we are all ready for bed!

Hope everyone else is doing great. May try and skim but I think I am over 60 pages behind once again.........

Don't worry Marilyn there aren't any French people here.....just talk about them :lmao:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I just didn't want you to think I didn't like them as a nation!!!!!!!! Personally we have done ok when we have been in France and have met some great folk. We have of course had to put up with the French blockading roads, ports, etc!!!!! so....:rotfl:

Now, French is a language I did learn a bit of and can read basic signs etc. I do try.

When we go to the Canary Islands which are Spanish I struggle more, and quite often answer in French in my stress. Very funny! Fortunately in the tourist areas they all speak english, but I like to at least attempt to use their language.

Maybe Disney will give me a translator for every country :lmao: I know more Spanish than anything else....well besides English. In Mexico the only people that talk to you speak English so it is easy. What languages will I have to learn? Maybe I should keep my mouth shut :lmao:

Good Morning all,
Welcome back Ian, Jackie and Cheri.

Cheri, loved the pictures. Thanks so much. You got some beautiful ones of the sunset.

Michelle, keeping my fingers crossed for your family.

Monica, yes, its a sad day and hard to believe that it has been 7 years. It is so clear in my mind waking up late that morning to 5 messages on my machine and turning on the news to see it. We were stunned.

For all of you who were not at the party, the house on the end of the jetty that we are overlooking across the water was Dick Dale's house (Dick Dale and the Deltones)

I'm still not sure about all the types of meetings so we'll see. I just know there are so many kids out there that don't have the option of having a parent there all the time. I hope he doesn't get turned away :sad1:

I hear ya, it defeats the purpose of supporting kids if they have to have a parent all the time, but then again some kids need a parent to be there to be one on one with their kids...

I think I forgot to mention that along with the paperwork to send in for our certified wedding license, the state of California gave Sukie and I a very helpful booklet to advise us on what to expect and do during a pregnancy.

I'm not entirely sure that we'll ever really need that booklet, but is was very considerate of California all the same.

This will come in handy when we with teenagers send them to you to deal with the attitude and behaviors :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

So, I was back at work today. It was not all that bad coming back, but I do have projects with approaching deadlines, and I am feeling a bit pressured.

I probably won't get to do photos of the trip until the weekend, given that all I want to do right now is have dinner and collapse.

I'm not really sure how to eat dinner without Jackie and Cheri there.

GRRR!! I had to call and yelll at Disney today. We are going down a day before the cruise and I wanted to surprise my family by staying at Disney since we get in around 3. So I booked POP last night but then found out DCL doesn't pick up there. OK fine. This moring I called to switch it to Carribean Beach handicap room. They said ok its done and I paid. I happened to check the reservation this afternoon and noticed it said Pop still. So I called back and they said I hadn't switched it and it showed I had 2 rooms.and they were sold out. I said its not sold out and I paid for it after me putting my foot down and demanding they fix it they got it fixed. The lady was great but I was getting very upset. Its fixed but my mom knows about it since she walked in on the conversation but she hates suprises so its ok.

On the bright side we got my dad to try a wheelchair and he likes it as he can get around faster. Now he WANTS an electric one!! Mom is going to get him one before the cruise so he can ride around. This is a great improvment and shows he is finally accepting is Parkinsons.

Jill:

First congrats on joining your family on the up coming trip. I hope you will have a good time.

Also, when your mom gets your dad that electric chair I may want to pick your brain on it. I've been wanting to have a scooter/chair for my mom on our Xmas/NYE trip but haven't started to find out about them yet, any info you have I'd love you to send my way.
