Thanks Deb!!!

Yes... I live about 130 miles away from the city... NYC that is...

We are getting rain... flash flooding concerns I hear, but I am up on a bit of an incline... the river may overflow, they say...

Nice steady rain mom says... good for the garden (that got killed by all the rain we had in July!!!)

You know...it stopped raining for the summer as soon as my neighbor took her pool down... I miss that pool... :sad2:

Hi Michelle. You are so welcome.

We're getting six inches of rain in PA, but it all rolls downhill coz we have a higher elevation and the house is straight uphill......but then our driveway starts to look like the grand canyon with the river down the middle of it. YUCK!

Well, because of the movie I watched, I don't have time to go grocery shopping before picking up Tyler, so I guess I'll hope he's not too hungry to wait to eat until after we go to the store. Or I guess if he's starving, we could run home for dinner first and then go back out to the store. Once we're home, he doesn't like to go back out, but I can find a way to lure him out. Maybe I'll tell him we need to get groceries, but after we get home we can play in the backyard a bit later than normal. :thumbsup2

OK, off to drop my movie off on my way to get Tyler. I'll be back after he's in bed! :goodvibes

See you later Holly......hugs to Tyler.

Well, bed time here.

Feeling tired tonight.

Hope you all have a lovely evening.

Goodnight Deb and Michelle, and Holly when you get back.

Night Marilyn!!! Sweet dreams!!!

(sure... she goes to sleep before the party starts!!! (in LA i mean...) :lmao:

Holly, it's nice to know that there are still some places in the world where it's still the same way that it was when I was a kid. I remember sitting out on the front steps with all the neighbors every summer night. We alternated houses, brought the lounge chairs and sat and talked and drank. They had alcohol and we didn't, but we all drank. The good old days. Then the kids would catch lightening bugs. Oh what fun!
:flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3: :flower3:

I had to be home when the street lights came on... :upsidedow

Thanks Gaylean... I needed someone to put it into perspective for me... sometimes I just feel  and I let it get to me...

Sometimes it works for me, I hope I really helped ;) We'll miss you today.

Sorry I went MIA for a bit.....John just got home from shopping.

People are definitely different today and for the worse. We used to be outside everyday all year long. If your parent wasn't there, your friends parents could dicipline you. The whole neighborhood watched what you did, could dicipline you and told your parents. You behaved.

Especially at halloween, we trick or treated all over the neighborhood on our own from about 7 years old and up. We NEVER once had anything bad in our bags. People in society have changed. It's so Much More dangerous for kids today.
:guilty:

True enough. I throw half of the candy away and give them the bags of candy that I know came from good places. I don't tell them and they still do all the FUN work :goodvibes

Wow a new thread! I haven't caught up yet but will go through quickly later. Things are still rough here, mom has to take dad to work and pick him up. SHe has to pick him up at the same time as my sisters activities so I take my sister. I don't mind it just means less time at home. My stepdad has his good days and bad days. School is going well so far. I am going to another scrap show in a few weekends. DM, DS, and I are going to go shopping at the show and then go to the mall in Chattanooga. Matt will stay with my stepdad and they will keep each other company. I am calming my mom down and telling her she will be ok on her cruise. I have planned everything I can for them and the rest they will choose from the navigators. I even have them dinner mates from Scotland and they have a niece my sisters age!

I hope everyone is doing well.

I think it takes a lot more work to be a parent today. A good parent. You have to keep the kids safe and balanced. We were more on our own.

It's hard but maybe our generation will change things. We are a lot better than our parents were. Except they didn't have so many parents on crack back then so I guess we still have some worse parents

Hi Jill!!!

Glad to hear you are doing ok... Tell DM & DSD that they will do great!!!

Tell Matt we said HI!!

Did you see the wedding pics n the last thread????

I'm with Marilyn on this one...

Good to know we'll have a good time then this visit.

We have one of them in our family too... :headache:

It's horrible because it makes Sandi act stupid too. She does what he says even despite her own kids. That's just wrong. Especially since he's an idiot!

I got $2 a week... but then I started babysitting at 11 and had my own cash...

I started babysitting at 12 and made close to $100 a week in the summer and had no bills to pay......the good old days!

Pink shirt... tiara... oh... now I have to get suitcase #5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wait... I have those... flashbacks too!!!

Ha Ha He He Ho Ho!

Rings I hear are Stainless Steel... Ian wanted Titanium, but they didn't come in or something... Really hard to break I hear... ;)

Cool! Can't wait to see them!

:goodvibes

Nan has just checked in with response to cake requests...

"Sorry only for the grooms - the rest of us eat cupcakes... I'll be sending them out via carrier pidgeon".....

OOOOOHHHHHHH......I'm telling!!!

I LOVE when he splats into the windshield!!!

Isn't that great!

Deb... this time we order on board.... ;) ;) ;)

YES Definitely.....no one carries onboard.....we order from DCL! We'll just ask for the champagne menu and order at least one bottle of everything!  :yay: :yay: :cutie: :cutie:

I agree. I know our daughter is busy from morning till night with all that her 4 do and then the homework and reading.

I was thinking the other day. My mum used to work from home when I was little. She was a sewing machinist and made mens trousers(pants to you). she went out to work when I was 7, and I think from then on I was home in holidays on my own. I had an elder sister(4 years older), but you know? I can't remember her ever being there, though I am sure she was around. I played out, went round to friends etc.

Hopefully, we have made better kids today and they will form a better society tomorrow.

It sure was fun for us growing up though. I have all great memories.

Us too. We could stay out on the steps with them after that, but if we ran off to play we had to be back when the street lights came on. So cool you remember that.

Well now that summer is over and school has started......it will be halloween next month. WOW! That just hit me. Then we start all the holidays again........my birthday, Turkey Day, Christmas, New Years and then John's birthday ends it all.....and it starts next month. Good Grief!:confused3

Hi Jill.....sorry to hear that your step dad hasn't improved yet. I know exactly how hard it is to care for someone else. It's good that you're helping with your sister, even though it takes away from your time with Matt. Your mom needs you now. I'm sending hugs and pixie dust to you and Matt and all your family so that things will get better.

I'm glad school and work are fine and that you're going to another scrap show. Have fun. Can't wait to see pictures of your new stuff.:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:
