Ok, I've met some lovely French people, really.

I've always had extremely good experiences with the French.

Of course I do speak French, though while not sparkling, at least well enough to hold a conversation.

I have quite a few friends who are French.

I do get a bit tired of various people, usually waitresses, dragging others over to our table and saying, "Oh, please say more, you're accent is soooo cute!" (Votre accent est très mignion, vous ne parle pas comme un American) (Of course all of this is going on in French)

I frequently resort to French (learned it in High School) when I try to talk with the kids Spanish teachers. Sometimes I reply in French to the kids when they speak Spanish. Why is it that the brain works that way?:confused3

I once spent a month in Mexico City for work. I don't speak Spanish, other than what I've managed to pick up.

In Mexico City I resorted to speaking French but tried sticking an "O" on the end of words hoping that would work.

It didn't.

(Ou esto le restauranto?)

Hi Nan, not Jill.....but I have rented the scooters before for the boat and for running around at WDW. I'll get you a link to a couple of them. They're located in the Orlando area and they will drop off and pick up at the cruise terminal. You have to book a handicapped room to get them into the room or a higher category room. I always book a cat 5 and they won't fit into the room. You have to recharge the battery so you need to plug it in somewhere. With 5122 being the first room off the elevators, I could plug it in outside the room. The one time I used a wheelchair, I had to fold it up.

Hope this helps. They are reasonably inexpensive.....about $100-200 for the week. Link to follow soon.

awesome, and thanks. I'm on the list for a cat 3 mid ship that is the only one that will fit all of us 5 and take the scooter. I was told we can park it in the lobby by the elevator when not in use and charge it there too.

We will have her travel chair also, that folds up but just in case best to have the scooter so she can move on her own.:thumbsup2

THEY'RE EVACUATING!!!!!!!

JUST GOT THE CALL FROM MY SISTER...

SHE AND BRIAN ARE FLYING OUT TODAY TO PHOENIX AND MY BROTHER IN LAW IS STAYING BEHIND UP NORTH OF HOUSTON WITH THE RIDEOUT CREW FOR THE PLANT...HE'S DIRECTOR AND MUST BE THERE WHEN THEY GET THE PLANTS UP AND RUNNING...

THEY ARE TRYING TO GET 6 MILLION PEOPLE OUT OF THE WAY OF THE STORM...

AND ME... I'M A MESS... MOM IS MAKING MUFFINS...

PLEASE PRAY EVERYONE...
Great news Michelle! By the time I'm reading your post, your sister and Brian are surely safe in Phoenix. I wonder if it was hard to get a flight if tons of people are flying out.

Of course you have to be at WDW to get this one...

POR FAVOR MANTENGANSE ALEJADO DE LAS PUERTAS...

After MY couple of years of high school spanish... that's the best I can do... and I got that off my T shirt!!! :lmao:

Whenever we hear a Spanish translation we ask the kids what they said, they now get mad and tell us to listen the first time  :lmao: :lmao:

For all that were interested: My fingerprints are not in yet and I'm so mad. The other lady that is going to do my job started already and she was hired 2 days after me. So maybe I'm a mass murderer and forgot about it! I called the school district to find out if there was anything I still needed to do and the lady yelled at me. She said "I told you not to report until I called and told you that you were clear". I have to take my kids to school and that is the only reporting that I have done :confused3 They ask me when my finger prints will be in and I say "I don't know". Does that sound like reporting to anyone?

The other bad news is that Ethan's teacher's wife is a flight attendant and they have 3 young children. I knew at Back-to-School night that it was going to be a problem because he told us that he was pretty much a single parent. I overreacted and Jon calmed me down. They have been in school for three weeks and the teacher has been out 8 times. He is gone this entire week and he missed three days before this. I'm his room parent and parents are coming up to me trying to get a schedule to volunteer and I can't even help them because he hasn't given me the numbers to call everyone and how can he if he is never going to be there. I'm concerned. I'm hoping it gets better because I don't want to be "THAT" mom that has her child switched every year. I owe the last two teachers for Ethan's education. They really helped him and cared a lot about him. I don't think having different subs is going to be in his benefit.

that stinks about your fingerprints. Perhaps you are a sleep walking murderer??? No really I am sorry, such a pain when people screw up like that. I think she meant report to work, not report on someone, perhaps?

I suggest you do be that parent for Ethan. Don't ya think your gut is telling you to be worried for a reason?

sounds good to me, I might try that and see if the kids catch on  :rolleyes1

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I 'have' a little Spanish.

Donde esta el quatro de bano?
Yo tengo un dolor de me estomago, de me boca, de me mano, de me cabeza.
Espere la luz verde, entonces empuje la puerta, suavamente.
Cuando caliente del sol aqui en la playa
(this spelling is an abomonation) Pues, lo siento mucho.

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 and I took four years in high school and one in college.
Hey, that's how much I took too! Got an A every time. Now that Tyler's learning in school, I'm always practicing with him. Sometimes he gets irritated with me and says, "Mom would you QUIT talking in Spanish?!" :rotfl2: But I can understand it (especially reading) much better than speak it. In fact, I doubt I could even come up with a sentence other than the basics. That makes me sad because I used to want to get some sort of job that required me to be bilingual.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe that crap about your fingerprints and job! What the heck is going on?! I'd be so ticked off at the whole situation. Good grief!

I think schools should set a limit on the number of days a teacher can miss. It's so important for kids to have that consistency and for the teacher to really get to know all of them. What a bunch of horse hockey. :sad2:

I agree with Nan. Never doubt a mother's intuition.
