Might not be getting paid at all after today! Hope that lady doesn't follow through on that threat! But it sure feels good to say what realy needs to be said huh????

The partners would never let her fire me because they're so desperate for people who can do the job. They know she's a horrible manager, but they keep her because it's easier than hiring somebody new and training them. Plus, the lawyers don't want to be involved with all that, they just want warm bodies sitting in chairs to do their work, they don't care who.

That's what I call "the warm body theory". Sometimes the hassle of interviewing and hiring a replacement is considered to much work, so leave the warm body that's already there, there. know what I mean.

Things needed to be said. Another coworker had sort of a breakdown last week because of how crappy things are being run. One day I was assigned to 6 out of the 8 attorneys and the other secretary there that day was assigned to only 2. Yes, she's slower and can't handle more than that, and everybody knows that, even her, and I'm faster and can multi-task. But the problem I have with it is that if you suck at your job, it's OK and you're allowed to slack off. But if you're good at your job, you get penalized by having 3 times the amount of work thrown on you. It's just not fair. The right thing to do would be to get rid of the ones who aren't doing the job, keep hiring until you find somebody who can do the job. Doesn't sound like rocket science to me. A few of us are tired of it (the other 3 of us secretaries).

That's how it is. It seems like everyone I know says the same thing and it was like that for me when I worked full time too. I'm sorry

Yes... and I always say that it really doesn't take much to make it homemade...

BINGO! That's exactly it. So the good employees move on quickly and jobs get rotated to fill in the gaps until new ones come on, then things get shifted again. It's usually total chaos. Things were ok for quite some time until somebody quit 2 weeks ago.

I always make twice as many taters so that I can make tater pancakes the next night... YUM... even better with homemade gravy....

That's how it is. It seems like everyone I know says the same thing and it was like that for me when I worked full time too. I'm sorry

Yup, I've heard there's lots of that all over, but this is my first job experiencing it. Oh well. What's funny is the days I'm on here lots during the workday, I still get about 3 times the amount of work done as our one slacker. I'm just really fast and a great multi tasker (as are ALL moms, which she's not).

Point well taken. I wish I knew how to make more things from scratch! But its kinda cool when you find some "packaged product" that tastes just like moms or grandpas! My Grandpa is gone and so are his AWESOME mexican reciepes!

How can you get country gravy in a jar? I've seen beef and turkey but not country.
