It is so old it is on a slide! Not sure how I would transfer that.

Actually, I transferred a boat load of slides. My scanner had this attachment and a plastic template. You put the slide in the template thingy to have it sit correctly on the scan bed and the attachment was a light source.

Mmm, sounds Star Trekky!!!:lmao:

Good morning all!

I managed to sleep until about 7:00 AM.

I think we might be going to Napa Rose for dinner on the wedding day. I made and ADR at any rate. In which case we have to pack some nice pants (trousers for our UK friends).

Not sure Sukie is very keen to go to Napa Rose. I asked him, which would he prefer, a nice dinner at Napa Rose or french fries and a ride on Dumbo. He chose the fries and Dumbo.

I think you will both really enjoy Napa Rose. There are lots of veggie options for Sukie. I know he doesn't drink, but if you are interested the wine paring menu was outta this world :thumbsup2

Pity. We only get to wear our wedding day stuff once. I understand that the sceret celebration is extremely casual.

Here I was looking forward to bow ties again.

I was hoping you would wear your attire, I think Kelly suggestion was to the rest of us, not to you 2. You are the reason for the event. WEAR THE OUTFITS AGAIN!!!!

Now that I know how to tie a bow tie, on the next cruise, we will be wearing real bow ties and not the clip on ones. A real one looks so much better.

I might even take to wearing bow ties now, when I do need a tie.

So, on our next cruise (Tortola) I'll give bow tie lessons.

Ian, I think it's great that you love Disney. I have to admit Paul and I have agreed this for us is a time of our lives venue. We will not likely travel to Disney spots when we are on our own again, but for now it's a good (compromise) there's that word again, for the kids and us to enjoy. But utilmately you are the one that has to be happy with what you do and where you go, so who cares what others are doing. I for sure wouldn't want to travel like some of my friends or family, like my sister and her scuba diving trips  , sorry Cheri :flower3: just not my thing. A spa and rum & coke that's my thing(s) ::yes::

Who says you can't have a spa and rum & Coke on a diving trip, hmmmm???
:thumbsup2

I'm going to go look for photos of us taken 20 years ago. I bet they are just as funny. I won't be able to post them though.

Perhaps we should have folk post old pics of themselves so we can have some more laughs.

I already posted my high school graduation picture--now it's everyone else's turn!

Actually, pictures from 20 yrs. ago would be even better--1988 styles and hairdos!

Speaking of old styles--in WalMart yesterday I saw, in the Jr. dept. some really hideous polyester "baby doll" style tops in brown & orange, orange & green, etc. I can't believe anyone would actually wear that! Some styles don't deserve to come back!:lmao: :lmao:

We're off to DL to the Princess Faire this morning. 2 more days till Kindergarten begins... which means I'm really feeling the ambivalence of letting go of her. No more mid-week DL during the quiet of the school year. It's been a great 5 years of going in the mornings. When she was 1-2 years old we would go over to CA and let her learn to walk from character to character. :sad1:

Hi all thought I would check in - went to Gainesville this passed weekend and stayed in orlando on Fri and Sat night (we had a free condo stay) so it cut our drive time short for the game which was nice. We had a blast at the game, the girls are getting so big!

We have TS Hanna, TS Ike and TS Josephine all in the works down here. Hopefully no one is cruising anytime soon. I just pray they stay away from Florida!

hope everyone is well. Work is a bit stressfull, we have another mandatory pto day last Friday. We are heading to Gainesville Sat for the game and ESPN Gameday will be there....LOOK for us, we usually end up getting on TV and the girls will be on John's shoulders I am sure!

Miss you guys....any reunion cruises planned?

Hi V!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

Thanks for posting that, Marilyn. Very interesting to read, especially being from sun-drenched country! The way it describes "sunshine" as being a news-worthy event makes me think of the way we in AZ think of rain! Also interesting to see the statistics of how many hours of sunshine you've had in a month! That's something I've never thought about.

Today is packing day. Not that there's all that much to pack. We're only gone for 6 days, but there all the gear we're wearing on the wedding day, so unfortunately we have to take the rolling garment bag, for the dress stuff, plus our normal clothing.

Pity. We only get to wear our wedding day stuff once. I understand that the sceret celebration is extremely casual.

Here I was looking forward to bow ties again.

Ian, I agree with Nan--I think you and Sukie should definitely wear your wedding clothes to the party!:thumbsup2

Cheri....sent you an e-mail about Friday.

Hi Kids!

Hi Cherie.

I wish we didn't have to think about it!!!:lmao:

You have heard of SAD haven't you? Seasonal Affective Disorder? Well this year the season has just got longer!!

I think I already first it!!!! But I'll fourth it too.

Even though I'm not there but I want to see pics!

Let's see if I can convince Hisselfness. We spent a fortune on the hats, we really ought to wear them again, although Sukie has had to restrain himself from now wearing it this summer.

It is hard at first when the little one goes off to school. Is Kindergarten all day? you will miss her for sure, but it seems you are extremely busy so will fill the time well.

Yes, I'm excited to be able to do so much uninterupted work, but sad that this will begin such a huge committment.

If you think you're sad now just wait until her first day. I cried like a baby :sad1:

Geez, I hope I don't cry too much since I'll be leaving for a wedding a half hour later. I'll be taking extra blood pressure medicine Wednesday night.

This didn't post, but yes, Ian if you will be comfortable do wear them.

Hisselfness.

As a dyslexic, this is an unpronounceable word. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

A Wave of Enhancements In-Store for the Disney Magic Cruise Ship as it Heads Into Dry Dock in September 2008

CELEBRATION, Fla. – An exciting collection of enhancements awaits the Disney Magic as the ship heads into dry dock Sept. 6-24, 2008. The 2,700 passenger cruise ship will undergo a series of upgrades for guests of all ages.

Here is a glimpse at what’s in store:

Indulgence and Relaxation
Quiet Cove, the serene pool retreat reserved for the enjoyment of adults, will undergo a makeover including upgrades to Cove Café, the pool and the deck area. Cove Café, the ship’s sophisticated coffee lounge, will incorporate a new seating area with plush, comfortable chairs providing the perfect venue to relax while sipping a cup of gourmet coffee. Meanwhile, the adult pool will be outfitted with soothing, cascading waterfalls from the two hot tubs. Teak deck and lounge chairs with plush cushions will line the pool, creating an inviting, stylish ambiance in line with the Vista Spa and Salon.

Fun for the Little Ones
The Oceaneer Club, a Neverland-themed play space for 3-7 year olds, and the Oceaneer Lab, a whacky and interactive laboratory exclusively for 8-12 year olds, will be enhanced with new registration areas that make the check-in process more efficient and hassle-free. This sets the stage for incorporating Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology in the youth activity areas later this year, which will further enhance and streamline the check-in process. The technology uses RFID tags embedded on wristbands, allowing children to simply tap a sensor to check in and out of the clubs.
Even the youngest cruisers will have a splashtacular time in “Mickey’s Splash Zone,” a new toddler water playground inspired by Fantasia’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice. This 385-square-foot extension to the Mickey Pool on deck 9 will feature star- and moon-shaped interactive fountains, a soft play surface and whimsical splash zones; creating an inviting environment for children not yet toilet trained and in swim diapers.

New Conveniences
The guest staterooms onboard the Disney Magic are receiving an infusion of technology with the installation of flat-screen LCD television sets. The new 22-inch units will be mounted on a swivel arm to allow easy viewing from multiple locations within the stateroom.

We are nearly done packing.

I really wish we did not have to take the rolling garment bag with us except we need it for the sport jackets, etc.

I find it hard to believe that counting the backpack we have 4 pieces of luggage for a 6-day trip.

Nothing like travelling light! One of the bags is just for the hats!

Without the wedding, it would have been one suitcase for the two of us, and the backpack for the cameras and laptop.

Well the packing is the worst bit.

What time are you leaving?
