I have a couple of scanned photos of myself from just after graduating high school when I was about 18 or 19, they are even funnier.

So post them....I hope you didn't already :)

Good morning all and you all across the pond.

Stayed up very late watching all the drama about the storm and Sarah Palin play out on the news and working on my computer. We've decided that Zoe is old enough to watch the first 3 Star Wars movies, so that has been fun each night. Last night was the last night of DL being open late during the weeknights and no more nightly fireworks until the weekends and holidays. It's always a sad night for us to hear them for the last time before school starts. I'm working 16 hours per day now frantically working on all the new presentations and feeling the crunch of school.

We're off to DL to the Princess Faire this morning. 2 more days till Kindergarten begins... which means I'm really feeling the ambivalence of letting go of her. No more mid-week DL during the quiet of the school year. It's been a great 5 years of going in the mornings. When she was 1-2 years old we would go over to CA and let her learn to walk from character to character. :sad1:

If you think you're sad now just wait until her first day. I cried like a baby :sad1:

I think the funniest ones of me would be from around 30 years ago when I was slim, had an afro and wore wedge shoes(only an inch or so though).

.

Oh Marilyn you need to scan that photo :lmao:

You forgot to point out where the 9th green is!!! :lmao: :lmao: .....

Michelle: I quote from the Country Club site:

The White Beeches Golf and Country Club golf course traces its origins back to two separate nine hole courses which were being played on the site as early as 1902. The Club we know today, The White Beeches Golf and Country Club, named in honor of the beech trees that line the course, was incorporated in 1918. Shortly after it was organized the club purchased the two nine holes courses, putting them together to make an 18 hole course. In 1920 the course was redesigned by the world renowned golf course architect Walter J. Travis.

So, when did she bury it? Sounds like a trip to the course is in order to find out where the 9th green WAS that year!

I found the map, you find the detective to do the legwork. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Jan :lmao:

.....Oh where is the tag fairy when You need him/her????? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I just changed the tag myself..
When I said that I was TIRED. Later I was afraid I might have insulted someone, but if it is really that funny to others, I figured I might as well tag myself with it.

Jan ;)

It is so old it is on a slide! Not sure how I would transfer that.

That's alright, I couldn't find any good ones either. I think Jon must have a hidden file somewhere. I made a slide show for myspace for our 10th anniversary so I know the pictures have to be on the computer somewhere but I can't find them. Oh well.

It was funny and I'm not sure how you thought you would offend anyone. You should get tired more often :lmao:

No sweetie, I was answering something for Bubba, unaware that he had already answered himself. I went up early last night. Thats why I did not get your PM until this am.

No problem. Let me know if you need my help with anything.

.....yes that's true, I'm good with this bunch, don't need to tangle up with anymore nuts on the DIS board. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: .......

Please Nan, avoid the nuts, stay here with us sane folks! :thumbsup2

Jan :rotfl:

I hope Ken is firing up the camera to capture the big event!!:thumbsup2

Ken will be out of town working, so its my job to take the pictures this year. This year I am taking the pictures tomorrow since its the first full day and she'll be taking her backpack and everything with her. Ken walked her to school her first day of kindergarten and grade 1, so today she was unhappy that he wasn't taking her.:sad1: Last week she was fine with it. There's a new girl at daycare going to the same school, so this morning Shaelyn was proud to find out she has to help the new girl find her classroom.

Happy Birthday, Woody!

party: party: party: party:
(Yup, I've resorted to stealing just like Nan & Holly ;)

Oh, I guess I should find my camera too. I guess I never thought of taking pics the first day beyond K! I think I would have felt sad if I didn't this time too! Fortunately, Tyler's finally excited. Up until last night, he did NOT want to go to first grade because he's embarrassed by not being able to read and write like the other kids. But his new teacher did assure him it's OK because of the extra help he'll be getting every day in special ed, so maybe that finally sunk in. He woke up this morning super excited, so all is good! :thumbsup2

I recommend taking a picture on the first day each year. Its cute to be able to compare the first days as they grow up :thumbsup2

I suppose that this is the big week!

The dogs are now gone. The doggy hotel, Stay, has carted them off. They were all happy and excited when the guy arrived to take them, then as he carried them off, their eyes grew as big as saucers and they looked terribly worried.

However there is peace in the house now, with out the patter of their little hooves on the wood floors.

I was going through some old photos, trying to see if I could find anything from when Sukie and I first met.

I did find a couple from our very first vacation together. We went to New York City and then on to WDW.

I think the photos are hysterical. I never realized we ever looked that young:

This was about 20 years ago.

.

Enjoy your trip! I'll have to check out those pictures tonight!

Monica - I went and saw Anne Franks house when I lived in Holland and it was fascinating ::yes:: Ken came and visited me, but I didn't take him there and he was annoyed when he found out we could have gone there instead of Rotterdam :lmao: :lmao:

That would be interesting. There is a black girl in Brooke's class and she was describing her once and she said "You know the one girl that has a lot of little braids all over. She is a little fat. She's really bad in class. Do you know who I am talking about". There is only one black girl so I'm not sure why she didn't say that. I'm hoping she didn't notice but did hurt my feelings that she noticed she was fat  I wonder what she thinks of me :scared1:

I think its interesting how kids don't pick skin colour to describe somebody. Shaelyn picks hair and height.
Kids can be far too honest. Mine will bluntly tell me exactly how big I am :sad2:

Still behind and coffee break is over! Hopefully there's time for a coffee break this afternoon!

Well today was a major overhaul in the kitchen day. Took out a bunch of the cabinets and tackled the z-brick. Heck we even took down some wood panelling that was on one wall and took the popcorn off of another wall.

But you should see the stuff we found!

Here is a piece of wallpaper that was found behind one cabinet. Can you imagine an entire kitchen covered with this stuff?

And here is where our island used to be. Check out that gorgeous brown lino that is at the bottom. I found this in our foyer and on our staircase too. The whole house must have been coevered in it!!

And here I am removing the wood panelling. Lots of holes but I'm glad it is gone.

And here is Shannon removing some more of that accursed Z-brick. We still have more to take off!

Lots done today but we still have LOTS to do.

WOW :scared1:

But, I do have to admit, there was a time in my life when I would have liked that Z-Brick wall......:rolleyes1

When you get this done, can you post some BEFORE and AFTER photos taken from the same spots? That would really let us APPRECIATE all the work. :yay: :yay:

Hang in there!!
Jan :goodvibes

It is the tank tops you get inside the bags, like Fruit of the Loom. I think they are suppose to be underwear but a lot people wear them as shirts.

I never knew they were called that! Not very flattering, term that is.
