WOW, I've met thousands of celebrities in my years of show biz and my work now. There's only one that made me excited (Sidney Poitier), but astronauts I'm really interested in. I'm a nut about space stuff. Here I am getting Buzz Aldren's autograph at his lecture. I was such a geek.

100_1632.jpg

My nephew also met Buzz Aldrin... their school here is on the grounds of NASA so it's nothing to them... I made them watch all 10 episodes of "From the Earth to the Moon" before they moved here... So when Mark called me to tell me that he met a famous astronaut and that he got to ask a question... he reassured me that it wasn't HIM who asked about going to the bathroom in space... :rotfl:

I can't believe we're travelling again.

Even though it's only a 6-day trip I've started getting everything together.

Our biggest issue are the dogs, Tallulah and Truman.

Some of you might recall that we came home from the repo cruise to an unfortunate situation.

Boarding 2 dogs is very expensive, about $90 a day. What we did for the cruise was get a friend of Sukie in to dog-sit.

He really needed the money and we saved a lot of money. I paid him very well, and he really didn't need to do very much, just feed them, and let them out. It was very easy cash in-pocket.

Plus he got to stay our our place, which for him would be a bit of luxury, what with the 2 flat screen TVs, HD satellite, Blue-Ray, etc. We also did all the grocery shopping so he would be well supplied.

When we came back, we got an earful from our neighbors/tenants upstairs, who themselves have 2 dogs.

They told us that the dogs were locked in their crate most of the day, and they would hear him yelling at them.

Sukie was extremely upset, and has stopped talking to him altogether.

It's a same, because he really does need the money and it was so easy.

So, we've had to find a new boarding place. The place we had been using was good, but too far away, plus they weren't the most cooperative people around, insisting that everything be done at their convenience.

We tried a new boarding place when we did our overnight in Canada. It was recommended by our vet. They're not too far away from our house (about 3/4 of a mile), plus they offer pick-up and drop-off which is great considering these things frequently need to happen when I'm at work and Sukie doesn't drive.

Their pricing is pretty comparable to other boarding places.

H O W E V E R .... I do think they are a tad "over the top." I'm actually a bit embarrassed by the place and find it verging on silly.

They consider themselves a "doggy spa." Let's put it this way, Sukie and I don't even get that kind of treatment when we go on vacation.

I was looking up their phone number yesterday and I came across these 2 news pieces from local Chicago televison.

You'll see what I mean:

Ummmm... did you book their mani/pedi and massage yet???

Hey, my first choice would be for a PC repo, but seems most popular rumour at the moment is for a Transatlantic and Med cruises and I'm not sure John would do that.

Ok... we'll blindfold him and tell him it's the Queen Mary... And Mickey came along for the ride...

The thoughts this week at our dismeet were that they will not leave the Caribbean before the new ships are coming over the next year, so they will do alternating 10 & 11 night southern caribbean cruises.

Ohhh that would be nice...

That is what we did last year, 14 nights on the TA and then 11 nights in the med. It was 25 nights on the Magic.

Castaway Cay
Tenerife, Canary Islands
Cadiz, Spain
Gibraltar, UK
Barcelona, Spain
Palermo, Sicily
Naples, Italy (Huge selection of places to go we went to Amalfi Coast, Sorrento)
Rome, Italy
La Spezia, Italy (this was a huge selection of places to go,we went to Pisa)
Olbia, Sardinia (a waste of time, but I did pasta cooking class with Joey Fatone and his family)
Marseilles, France (a big stop, we went to Aix on Provence)
Villefranche, France (another big stop with many selections. We went to Nice, Monte Carlo)
Then most of us flew to Paris.

You did 25 nights???? WOW... so our repo felt like a weekend to you??

I just have to say a big thank you to you guys for Emily's B-Day (You know what I mean) Gaylean, Steph, Marr and especially Bubba and V! Also to your sister Gaylean!:dance3:

No problem. It was fun and we all got to see each other. We like cake and presents so it was easy  Well at least for me ;) I'm sorry you had to leave so early ;)

:rotfl2: Tyler's running around waving a pirate sword in one hand and a jolly roger flag in the other, singing, "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me", then he came out and asked me, "Mom, did you know that pirates used to be real a really long time ago?" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

That is amazing, just out of the blue like that ;) There is always room at the river because we either stay in Laughlin or rent houses in Havasu. The house in San Felipe is small but we could make it work if everyone is willing. If not we can plan a separate trip. We also know some nice places to stay if we want to get A LOT of people to come. It is up to everyone.

That is awesome. We just have not been going because no one we know has boats or is interested. I was just thinking of selling the boat but not anymore.:goodvibes I love Laughlin but not if the water is low.

Hi Lori. so good to see you here. You are welcome. It was our pleasure to have all of you visit. I know I had a great time. All the kids were great. You all are welcome to visit us anytime.

He fell asleep on the way home!!!! I should have known he had hit the wall and just stayed. I guess I can't blame him he was still jet lagged.

Remember the sandwich days when he was up top :sad1:

I sure do. I wonder how he spends his time nowadays.

Aaaaw, bless. He does have such fun doesn't he?

Have no worries Gaylean.

Whereever the ship goes I'm pretty sure we are going.

For a Med cruise we just aren't sure if we want to do the Transatlantic or if we want to tour the Med.

For us it will depend on the ports of call. However, I would lean towards the TA because I'm not sure I could do a Disney Cruise without a stop at CC. And yes that goes for the Alaskan one too. ;)

Let's face it, most of the fun of a Disney Cruise is the ship itself, so where it goes does it really matter?

Sounds good to me... but if it's in Alaska... you could just drive there instead of driving, flying and then getting on the ship...

We would be on it in a heartbeat.

If we could do Barcelona Madeira and Casablanca? Wow!

Don't forget to sign on with your table mates... :thumbsup2

BIG fight this morning. The subject? Bow ties.

I insisted on real bow ties and not the pre-tied stuff. I just don't think they look as good.

So, this morning was bow tie practice.

It wasn't pretty.

I finally after watching videos on Youtube figured out how to tie one. Sukie did not.

I tied his tie, and he kept complaining that I was hurting him. I told him I was going to hurt him a lot more if he didn't stop whining.

Then I realized that while the bow tie came out pretty good, I had tied his mustache into the tie.

May I suggest a slip knot??? :rolleyes1

Isn't Madeira a cake?

(I believe for those here who are on this side of the Atlantic, we call it pound cake).

Isn't it wine???

Moi is French for 'me' - not a bad word!!!:lmao:

It can be used here as a kind of mock indignation!!!

I would love a long Caribbean cruise to different places.

1st - PC
2nd - long Caribbean
3rd - Transatlantic

If there are Alaskan criuises then I would do the PC!!!

Miss Piggy calls her self that too... :lovestruc

I just read on Facebook, something from half of a couple who are really good friends of ours.

I think Michael is turning 50 this year (or maybe 49). His partner Tim gave him 4 days in Cairo, a 7 day cruise down the Nile, and 5 days in England as a birthday present.

I got emailed a photograph of 3 baby owls for my birthday (absolutely true).

Seriously, I sometimes feel funny when we're with friends and talking about vacations, because we go to WDW so much, and when we go on a cruise, we go on DCL.

They all seem to do much more "grown-up" things, trips to Europe, California Wine Country Holidays, gay cruises.

Anyone else ever feel that way? (well not about the gay cruise part).

In some ways I sometimes feel out of touch with our friends because they seem to prefer to do things that are sort of, well more "mature."

I had a boyfriend who used to kid me about everything Disney... I told him that we didn't want people like him there... He asked why??? NONBELIEVERS.... that's why!!! (and then we broke up..)

Harry always gets teased at work about our DCL cruises and WDW trips. It's hard to explain our obsession with the mouse. People just don't understand.:confused3 We figure it's their loss.:goodvibes

We wouldn't want them all on our trips with sucky attitudes... we want happy people... like US!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Has Michelle checked in yet today? Just starting to catch up.

I'm here Monica... so far we're dry... but we may get rain later... I leave tomorrow... can't wait to go home after all of this..

We go every year. We only went to Laughlin this year because of the cruise. We usually go to Havasu for my birthday, which is June 16. Usually right after the kids get out. Laughlin is different all the time. We don't have a boat though. We know people that do and when they aren't there we just hang around in the water but usually there is at least one boat. We use to stay in these trailers right on the water, on the CA side but last year we rented a house on the AZ side. It had a pool and the kids never wanted to go to the river :confused3 I know Brooke would love to have Emily there. Ethan always seems to find friends but she is shy.

I can't believe he came. I slept a lot after the cruise and I didn't even fly home!!!! I mean a lot.

Isn't Madeira a form of port? So therefore, Madiera is a port and it is also a port.

(And a cake)

hahahahahahaha

We have some relatives who only do grown up things and thought we were boring... then they had a child and fell in love with DL in their 40's. We feel sorry for people who don't get the DL experience. But where I live everyone does. The entire neighborhood has APs.

They are GREAT places to go to...I LOVE ITALY and recommend going there 100%.

I totally agree!

Sounds like it is OK to walk at these marathons. I thought people all ran. If it is OK to walk, then I might want to do it ::yes::.

Running--nope :sad2: The last time I ran was probably 20 years ago, I jogged two blocks and had MAJOR PAIN in one knee and the opposite ankle for WEEKS :scared1: No more running or jogging for me.

What is the cost?
What are the prizes?
What is the schedule?

If it really is OK to walk, I am interested in DETAILS!! :yay: For the last four years I have walked in the First Lady of Indiana's Walk for Woman's Heart Health--2 plus miles at the State Fair Grounds. :thumbsup2

Jan :earsgirl:

Yes, Jan. You can walk. We are fast walkers, but it took us a long time to do it. People do these for all kinds of different health reasons. We do the 5k's. They say it is a 15 min. mile, but there are plenty who do a 20 min. mile. The expedition Everest looks like a riot. EVeryone loves the Tower of Terror.

Oh that is so cool!My dad worked for NASA after I was grown up

You did 25 nights???? WOW... so our repo felt like a weekend to you??

Yes, the 15 did go quickly for us. We thought it would be more relaxing with fewer stops, but they kept us so busy that it wasn't. We've done 54 nights total on the one ship. Never on the Wonder.

54 nights is just crazy and by crazy I mean really cool. How much laundry did you do ;)

Let' plan on it then. Did you guys rent in the keys? Call me and we will talk about it.

Is this an invitation?
I am sure it is but I am closer.:rotfl:
