Hi All! Holly, Jan and Marilyn......I'm fine! Thanks for all the concern. I didn't get put into the hospital this time, thank goodness. I have a nasty infection that needed some heavy duty antibiotics, which I'm taking. Every day the leg has to get cleaned with antibacterial solution, so I have pain killers to take. John unwraps, throws me in the tub and lathers up the leg with the solution, then rinses it off with the shower head, then wraps it again. I have to go back to see the wound care specialist in one week, which is Wednesday.

I've just been knocked out with the horse pill sized antibiotics and the pain killers......I sleep all day and night. John says it looks like it's still got a long way to go towards healing. I haven't looked at it.....it's on the back of the calf on the right leg. I don't want to know. I just want it to go away already since it's been over a year now.

So thank you for your well wishes, let's hope we get rid of it once and for all this time......we'll see.

Ian, I laughed my butt off when I heard your wedding song.....what a great way to start my day! So appropriate for the two of you lovebirds.

I got the email from Kelly so I know all about the wedding plans and you're going to have a wonderful time. I'll be with you in spirit!

Jackie and Cheri, so glad you're okay after the storms. I heard that they both hit your area hard and was very concerned for you two and Peg. I hope you get power restored and the mess cleaned up quickly.....but I'm very glad you're all safe.

I'm so excited and anxious for the wedding of the century. September is such a great time of the year to get married. John and me will be celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary this month. We also celebrate the anniversary of our first date in April every year. Just like Nan said, you get to celebrate both dates each year, why not! I say, the more the merrier!

Hi Deb. So nice to hear from you, but sad you are having to cope with this. Glad you are at home though and have John to look after you. Keep positive and get this beaten.

Nobody will go and look with me... I almost talked my brother into it... Think I can call it a geocache and go with that???:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: why not? geocache is technological "treasure" hunting ;)

Thanks Shannon! Good job remembering the time difference! ;) I can't believe I'm still awake. It's 1:28am here! But I had to finish watching "Zoolander". I LOVED IT! :thumbsup2

I thought Zoolander was funny too, but I prefer Night at the Museum :thumbsup2

marilyn, had I seen yours I might have stolen it...note to self: wait until later in bdays to see whos artwork to steal. Not that I didn't like Shannon's but we didn't give her any cake did we :rolleyes1

Mental note - next time remember the cake,, must have cake for Nan to steal ;)

thanks Shannon I "borrow" artwork for Bdays did ya know *and I "borrowed" from Nan :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'm honoured by the double artwork borrow ;)
OT - I saw your pictures in the formal night thread. You both looked great!:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Speaking of cake, I still have some leftover Cold Stone Creamery birthday cake ice cream, so that's going to be my BREAKFAST! ;)

You still had some left  What did you get from Baskin Robins?

Quick posting from Peg's house. Second storm hit last night too and I'm without power. Just my unit, think I got hit! Power compmay will be out at some time, but have a mess of bigger issues to deal with right now (we still didn't have everything back from Thursday's storm). Friday morning it took me over an hour and a half to get to work because of all the downed power lines and trees! What a mess. To cheer me up, Peg's taking me to breakfast, as if we wouldn't be doing that anyway :lmao:

SOunds like the storms have been wrecking havoc. Hope it settles down again soon.:goodvibes

:goodvibes Sounds like John is taking great care of you!

John and me talked about the 2010 cruises this morning over coffee. We said the Magic and the Wonder are not ready to do an Alaskian trip. The pools would have to be enclosed. So they probably will wait until 2011 and 2012 to do Alaska when the new ships are out. That leaves the Med and the PC. We probably won't be able to do the Med because of airfare expense on top of the cruise expense. We said we would do another PC crossing if all of you are doing it too.....we just won't get off the ship for most of the ports.

John said, it looks like I'm going to have to start doing a lot of OT at work to pay for our cruise plans.

Hi Deb. So nice to hear from you, but sad you are having to cope with this. Glad you are at home though and have John to look after you. Keep positive and get this beaten.

Hi Marilyn, did you miss me??? That's what Gaylean would say!

Thanks for the encouragement. I hope this is the last time we have to go thru this too. I will stay positive and believe it, so maybe it will work.

Deb - great to see you! I have/had no doubt that John would be taking great care of you :lovestruc Take care of yourself too - check in when you can :goodvibes

Already starting to deal w/ outer bands of Gustav - it's amazing how HUGE he is.

Getting ready to run over to IKEA - 3 day labor day sale - famous comfy chair (starts w/ a P) on sale $30 off so off to get that.

Spoke w/ Lisa, Sydney, Ian & David (BIL) today - had to get times finalized for trip to MD.

Cheri - good to see you back.

Will check in w/ everyone later.

You got it.

Thanks.

This was Mrs. Woody's favorite restaurant on Rarotonga, Cook Islands, so we went twice.

In Rotorua, NZ, we saw the geothermal pools at Wai-O-Tapu. Artist's Palette is absolutely breathtaking.

Planes, trains, and automobiles.

Stay tuned.

Woody

So Woody... next time you check into the Poly... will you do a comparison of Rarotonga with the real one???? ;)

What might I be paying for?

That is a complicated life story. I would be down at the golf course in the middle of the night though.

Jan and I are volunteering to go along with you on the next PC repo or Alaska cruise to keep you out of trouble... but you're paying...

Oh & to add to the confusion... my father didn't know his name was Kenneth until he went to college... I credit my mothers side of the family for my good and not so crazy upbringing... :lovestruc

Hey... mine was cake all over....

Thanks Marilyn! I was planning on sleeping until noon, just because I can, but I'd forgotten to turn off my alarm, so it woke me up at 7:30am. I went back to sleep and then my dad called and woke me up at 10am. Oh well. I guess I should get moving and get my mowing over with.

Off to check email, then out to mow. :thumbsup2

SURE... SHE CHOOSES TODAY TO MOW THE LAWN!!!!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh and about the cake...

I hope all the mess from the storms gets taken care of for you quickly. What a pain!

See? I knew I'd find the update if I remained patient! Deb, this doesn't sound good, but I'm so glad you're not in the hospital. We were all worried about that happening. Thank goodness you have a great guy like John to take care of you.
