I have got nothing ready for the girls. Up until I got sick, Jaide was going to do internet academy instead of go back to school (she got tired of the social bully stuff going on) but because of my health right now and docs appt etc, I asked her if she would go back for me.....so now I have this week to get everything together and go shopping for all the supplies for them both! YIKES.

What is internet academy?

I see my pictures from last night have turned into the dreaded red x. I guess my picture sharing days are over, unless photobucket starts cooperating for me. That really stinks!

All of you that put in the long haul watching EB do PC yesterday, seem to have had a lot of fun . I couldn't seem to catch it at the right times.

Well, I'm up and tired. Slept in til 7am today. We have kindergarten picnic today, first chance to meet the class and the moms. should be exciting.

I figured out last night that we have spent 54 nights sleeping on the Magic - no wonder why I'm obssessed with watching her... I'm confused about where I really live.

I'm here and it has been crazy the last few days. Brooke's birthday turned out alright. I don't think I'll ever wait until 2 days before school starts to have a party. Ethan didn't get his hair cut or a new back pack. I feel bad because, when I dropped him off, I realized none of the other kids had character back packs this year I went searching last night but everything is picked over. I guess I'll try again this weekend. Brooke woke up screaming at 3:00 am on Sunday night because her tooth hurt. She didn't stop for hours but insisted on going to her first day of 1st grade. I told her to call me if the motrin wore off and explained to the teacher the situation. Well she told the teacher her tooth hurt and she sent her to the office and the office told Brooke that they didn't call moms for teeth pain I already love this teacher! Our dentist is closed on Mondays so she has an appointment today but I'm not sure if they will work on her because she woke up this morning with a fever and a sore throat. So she is home today because I apparently can't trust the school to call me if there is an issue.

Hi Gaylean. Sorry to hear about Brooke. It's horrible having a child ill. Your school sounds a bit poor about not getting in touch with you. I've always been used to it being too far the other way and getting calls to pick up a child for not much of a reason.

It's not too bad. I just feel bad for her because she hates missing school. Ethan goes to the office all the time so those people in the office must think we're a strange family!!!!

I didn't go to the sports stores or Mervyns yet so I'll check that today. I just think school starts too early now. I'm just not ready until after Labor Day Brooke got a new Littlest Pet Shop backpack and now I'm nervous that they aren't carrying characters either. I'm just not a hip mom I guess

V, how lovely to see you. Glad Samantha is enjoying school. It helps you so much to know she is happy.

The Magic didn't have good weather really until PC yesterday and they had a hot steamy day like we did until mid afternoon and then they had a massive nasty storm which delayed them for 2 hours as they were all at a standstill. They didn't get through the final locks till after 7pm.

Not sure yet how Gustav will affect them, but they may be ok. It will only be on Wednesday on the first of their sea days.

What is internet academy?
?

It is a new option that is between homeschool and public. The program here is WAVA (in CA it is called CAVA) but there are tons of them now. You register through a public school district and then do all your coursework at home on the internet. The students are responsible for their own work, and need to get 80% before they can move on to the next subject. They have to do a certain number of hours per week, but can be done whenever they want and they can finish early or not...just have to get the work done. They have weekly field trips with their "classmates" and their teacher. It is a great program, but we are going to wait a year to do it. The other thing, is you can go to school anywhere as long as there is internet access....so even on the cruise!!!

I would like to but we'll have to see where we are financially. I think this will be the first year we don't ask for AP's for xmas....we haven't really gone enough this year to justify them and I really want to start fixing up the house. I still have my deposit to transfer though!
