Brooke is married to a new boy everyday  She is so ready and only 6. Ethan has a friend that is a girl and he won't play with her in school because his friends tease him about her being his girl.

In her imagination she is figuring out what it would be like to be married to them. Wow, what a mature kid. A real LADY-in-waiting. She won't waste time dating the duds and jerks!

No beer for me, but after the wine there's a vodka mudshake in the fridge calling my name!

Sounds like you made the right choice with Steve (at least for this time in your life) I like your idea of a man who can take you on cruises later. I just want mine to take me on another one in 2010 :thumbsup2

And here I thought you were gonna take me??!!!!:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I take Tom and he takes me :thumbsup2

Tyler's starting to act all lovey-dovey sounding when he mentions a girl that he calls his girlfriend. :rotfl2: It's still Celes, a girl from his kindergarten class (I keep forgetting to call her mom to set up a get-together because they haven't seen each other since the last day of kindergarten). Then for the summer, his girlfriend was Julia at the summer child care at school. BUT.....he always says Bethany is the love of his life, but the way he words it is, "the love of my heart". :rotfl: I need to get him down to Florida to see her soon before he dies of longing. :lmao:

What a great expression! :thumbsup2

:lovestruc "the love of my heart"

Hmmm ... I don't know quite how to broker this topic, but as I am not a parent it has been something I have thought about from time to time, usually when I am in WDW.

When I was a kid, children were dressed like children and not miniature adults.

Something that has sort of bothered me is the trend towards dressing children (especially little girls) like miniature adults. There is something that seems a bit to me like the sexualization of children, what with the heels and make-up and such I've seen. This would be on what I would judge as little girls of 8, 9, 10, 11 etc.

I find this all a bit disturbing, because it just somehow, to me seems wrong.

I'm not saying that I see it ALL the time, but have seen it enough that Sukie and I have discussed it.

Again, I apologize if I offend anyone. Not having children ourselves, or knowing anyone (in Chicago) with children, there's not really anyone I can ask.

In some ways we live a very sheltered existence in our own little world.

It is probable that I am out of touch with what goes on today.

No, you are completely right!!!

:grouphug: Racing out the door to go give Kaylee a HUG! :grouphug:

I'll give her one for each of you too! :grouphug: :grouphug:

I hope you enjoyed your visit together and that her eyesight is beginning to recover.

I agree - people really need to learn that buttcheek should not hang out the bottom:eek:

:scared1:

Ok I come back and boy am I glad I did!!

This phrase made me LOL!!!

Obviously it doesn't pertain to MY wife .... Case in point - I bet she says she didn't hear me actually LOL when she is in the same room as me as I read this!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

You're officially a lurker!!! Great to see you.

You chose the Cabo pic? I picked Acapulco!

I want a photo card from you all this year.

We did have some good champagne didn't we! All Girls! So much fun!
:lmao: :lmao:

Oh, the Champagne Girls was brilliant. Looking forward to our next one, but will miss sooooo many girls.:sad2:

I agree. A while ago we were watching some show about beauty pageants for little girls and its very disturbing what they do these children (hair, makeup, false teeth, clothes that belong on a 20yr old) - I was so happy Shaelyn thought it looked weird. Kaleigh (DD3) thought it looked fun and wanted to sing like those girls :scared1:

False teeth???!!! :sad2:

How about Michael Phelps???

How amazing was that????

He is fantastic!

I have no idea what's happening. Nan and Kelly are keeping it a secret from me.

All I know about is the ceremony, which is on September 4th.

I'm now trying to figure out what we are going to do for witnesses. Bribe people on the street?

Bribe witnesses? Why do you need to bribe strangers to be witnesses?:confused3

thanks John, I've always been happy that her personality has lended to the younger stuff. Sometimes it is hard for her with her friends as she feels like she is "silly or dumb" even on the cruise we talked about how it was hard for her because some of her classmates like boys and she just isn't there yet. I of course told her, not to be concerned with it. There is LOTS of time for that later. I love Wilson's take on the whole thing. Paul and he talked once about a girl that Wilson "liked" Wil said he has lots of time for girls once he is in college.:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I love your kids Nan. I remember sitting with Molly and Noel at DTD just before the meet. She was just lovely. Ah, now that has brought cruise memories back. The excitement of that day, the day before the cruise. I think we were quite emotional.

Wow, Marilyn & Deborah are going to have lots of pages of crap to wade through. :lmao:

I've tried my best to read everything but skimmed most I think!!!!! Been great though.

Hi Marilyn, Hello Deborah :goodvibes

Hi Nan.:)

Marilyn is going to kill us :dance3: Or maybe she'll have something to do today instead of clean :lmao:

I don't clean!

Hmmm.....I wonder if she'd come clean my house for a week if I'd pay her airfare? ;)

I DON'T CLEAN!!! But I will still visit!!!:lmao:

Morning Deborah. Sorry to hear about your uncle's death. Hope you have a good day.

No one is going to the wedding? It is Thursday, right? What time? I should be there after I drop the kids off. We can probably convince Mickey now. I mean he has a record for goodness sakes!

Our appointment for the license and actual ceremony is at 11 AM at the Old Courthouse, on September 4th.

OK, since I can't remember if it's today or tomorrow ...

Happy Birthday Michelle!!!!!

Holly (and all the other parents out there interested), You may want to do what we're doing with Zoe. We put up 6 laminated maps: a map of the world and 5 continents, everytime we watch an event or someone wins or a country we recognize from the DCL trips we mark a letter on the country. Zoe finds the country and marks it with a special pen. Like A for Archery, C for Calvin our room host. It's really helping her memorize the continents, flags, languages and countries. And of course, if there is a disney character involved we have to mark that too. Mulan has been coming up a lot this week. She' better at geography than most of my 5th graders in my class at this point. You don't have to watch the Olympics to do it, just talk about the athletes goals and that they got there and got a medal. Jonathan and I have discovered quite a few countries that we've never heard of... and I teach a geography class!

Kelly, that's a great idea! I'll remember that idea for when my GD is a little older :) I have collected American quarters for some time, the ones that have a different state on each one. I thought it might be fun someday with a little one to match on to a map to learn where all the states are.

I put Serenity to bed at 9 last night. She woke once at 4:30, unusual for her but she has a cold, she had a little milk, a little rock and went right back to bed :lovestruc I heard her about an hour ago, so sprang from bed, heated her bottle quick, made my coffee, went to get her up and she was sound asleep! But I hear her talking again now, it's 9:30, what a great little sleeper! She always wakes up happy, too. So that's all from me for a while, I'm off to share the day with Serenity. Have a great day everyone :)

I was hoping you weren't on your "rasberry" :lmao:

I'm the one with the Raspberry (a RED Blackberry Pearl)

And

I am DISing in the car :scared:

But

Tom is driving ::yes::

We are on our way to Porter County where we used to live for Eye MD appts, calling hours for a friend who died (she was the elderly mother of a friend who is our age), and the annual picnic for supporters of an environmental learning center (camp) in the Indiana Dunes.

Tom was on the start-up committee and Board of Directors, serving as the second president of the Board. Even though we moved 150 miles away, we are still supporters so go every year.
