Will you be at WDW before Tortola? How many days?

(((....I'm over at the WDW Dining Plan forum right now..))))

.

Not sure how long, but probably the Mon or Tues before. Long enough for lost luggage to find us after the flight!!! If we hadn't been staying for so long after the cruises we probably would fly over a week before.

When I went to grade school in the northeast, it must have been some sort of transitional period, because there were tons of words that I learned two spellings for. I learned color and colour, neighbor and neighbour, etc.

I still spell catalogue with the "ue" which is the way I learned to spell it.

I'm sure I learned plough with the "ough" as in "the farmer ploughs the fields." Now that looks right to me, surely it can't be "the farmer plows the fields?" That just looks awkward.

But then again, catalog looks very wrong, and catalogue looks right.

Well you must be a closet Englishman!!!:lmao: Catalogue looks completely correct.:rotfl:

These will make great keepsake photos.

It was so kind of you to pose with Tigger and Pooh. Did they send you copies of the photos? Did they ask you to sign their autograph album?

Unfortunately we obviously aren't famous enough for them to ask for our autographs!!!:rolleyes1

Good Morning Cruisers.....we made it home safe and sound back to the snow in the mountains. NOW it looks like Christmas. I just kept laughing at the christmas lights on the palm trees. It just looked so funny to me. And it certainly didn't feel like Christmas.....all sunny and warm.

We made it up the farm field next door to us....so we got the car to the front door to offload. We got home about 1:30am....the trip took another 13 1/2 hours to return, the same time that it took to get there....that includes stops along the way. It just started snowing again when we got into the house last night. It snowed again a little this morning already too. It's definitely going to be a white Christmas.

Oh and Michelle, my preminition for worrying about the "big boys" at home in the snow while we were gone.....was warranted. The Kid put the car in a ditch when he lost control in the snow. When he pulled it out he bent the fender. That's the story that we got anyway. We haven't seen it yet so the full extent of the damages is yet to be determined when John gets a look at it. They thought they could go out and run some errands when it was not necessary and they should have stayed off the roads. Poor choices. Not using common sense. Even the older one needs to get a clue. I knew something was going to happen with my car. I felt it in my bones and just knew. Oh well.

I got a package in the mail yesterday from my aunt Susan in South Haven, MI. That's about 2 hours from here, but I haven't seen her since Tyler was 3 months old and I took him to show him off. ;) She fell in love with him and she keeps up with him through pictures and e-mail updates. She's made just about every gift she's given him and he always loves her gifts. Well, she also always adds a tin of Christmas cookies in the Christmas package, so I'm DYING to open it! I e-mailed that comment to her and she asked me to please try to wait until Christmas, so I will this time. She was making a sweater for Tyler but told me it didn't turn out right and she never gives something she thinks isn't perfect, so I think she just bought him something instead, but says he'll love it anyway. I'm sure he will! She's always been my favorite aunt. I was even in her wedding when I was 5. :goodvibes

Don't forget to tell us what it is!

Sounds like she might be a good person to visit when you want an affordable escape :)

Good morning all,
Went to the boat parade last night, but we found a place to watch from the car. It was really cool. There was a boat covered in fiber optic Xmas trees 2 stories tall. 41 degrees here this morning. We were supposed to go to DL this morning, but miss Zoe looks like death and it is too cold to be fun.

I never thought you could train a dog to use a litter tray. They must be very clever dogs.

our dog was a maltese and she always went on a wee wee pad - which is called a "Chuck" in hospitals. They put them under each patient.

I thought you'd get a kick out of this. It was from our Christmas party cruise.

Me with my pups.

And no, I was not jolly. I despise forced fun.

Good picture, from the way you always describe them I'd picture a bunch of scrooge type grinches.

Well, we'll definately have to take a meal together at the very least. I know I want to do tea at the GF, as well as try a new to me premiere dinining establishment, as well as re-visit Crystal Palace, as well as 50's Prime Time, as well as....... Why are there never enough days to hit all the 'spots'? I can't speak for the rest of my travel party...but I'm pretty sure they'll want to see you too! :lmao:

So...

Hi

I had a great times yesterday but it was long day....

I went out for lunch with 9 girls for birthday lunch then went out for drinks...

My sister in law and friend came down from Aberdeen (North).. We had a good laughing....

then

Alison and I went along to meet our men... turn out.. David almost knock down by police van... it went to wrong side of road and just 10 inch away from him. He got a shock... Police shouted him but David shouted back I cannot hear it as it was the blue flashing... why it went on wrong side road???

Oh dear.... poor Alison got a fright to heard that and I keep tell her think positive as he is alive and not worry too much...

Ian gave him double whisky *** he was so badly shaking...

Anyway, Ian had a good times, yes I take home because he was so drunk as I know he never drink lot.. as it was merry for him... I was fine and went to work today for 4 hours oh god it was so busy busy busy.... some nasty customers and some lovely customers grrrr I don't deserve it....

Sorry about the car Deb!!! Hope it isn't too bad. Glad you got home safely. You can now relax and enjoy Christmas.

My hair was so difficult to deal with in Florida. Though it is sooooo straight, it seemed fluffy all the time. Also the length wasn't too good for me. Took too long to do anything with when I wanted to get going and playing in the parks!!!! Probably it will be short by the next time.

How about a picture of your new cut?

Night Holly...

Just think... by the time you get up... my tree will be decorated!!! (and I'll be looking at YOUR snow in MY driveway!!!):rotfl2:
Well, I'm looking at IAN'S snow today! ;) Everything I shoveled last night is completely covered again and I almost can't find my car. I'd say we definitely got way more than the 4 inches predicted. And the wind gusts are so strong I can hear it roaring outside. :scared1: I don't even want to go out there, so we didn't go to church AGAIN. The weather report says the wind chill factor is 8 below 0F. I know that's nothing for Shannon & Ken, but we usually only see 2 or 3 days below 0.

I had a horrible time waking up today, just can't figure out why I"m so sleepy. I had to make a deal with Tyler. When he tried to wake me at 5am, I told him I need to sleep longer. He was frustrated and whiney about that, so I told him he's welcome to stay up and play quietly in his bedroom. He asked if he could fix himself some breakfast first and I said sure. So he got a bowl of cereal and glass of milk and played a bit. I still had trouble dragging myself awake, so I dozed on and off on the couch during a couple shows on PBS. Now we're headed out to shovel. Brrrr!!!!

Oh, I had a nap late in the day and have totally thrown off my sleep cycle. I'll wander back to bed in a few minutes and give it another shot! Thankfully tomorrow isn't a work day, so I can sleep in a bit.

I'm excited because Cheri gave :thumbsup2 to a week at WDW before Tortola. So now we can help Ian and Suki celebrate their first anniversary...only fair since we were one their honeymoon with them.:rotfl:

.

I know what it's like to be off Jackie... I haven't slept well since 1988...

Oh and if you guys start traditions of anniversarys... people are going to start to talk... ;)

I love Crystal Palace breakfast (and lunch). The last seating at breakfast or the first seating at lunch....and you practically don't need to eat for the rest of the day. Or at least not until a Casy's hot dog is required. :cool1:

Caseys... :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Are you sure you didn't go to catholic school?

Good Morning All.

According to Mrs. Bennet it is now -3 F (-19.5 C). I can attest to be being nippy. I have already been out shovelling this morning.

According to NOAA it is supposed to warm up to 5F with a low of 1F.

There is a winter "chill" advisory:

"A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND STRONG WINDS WILL COMBINE TO PRODUCE WIND CHILLS OF 20 TO 30 DEGREES BELOW ZERO. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVE."

That seems to be a bit more than just a chill. A chill implies don't forget to take a sweater to wrap around your shoulders. This seems a bit more like an arctic blast.

I do have to venture out to do my WW meetings. I wonder what the turn out will be like today.

I have already warned Sukie to stay in. I told him that if we need to do anything later, I'll get the car out.

Also according to NOAA, we are supposed to have some snow everyday this week through Thursday.

So far, we've had more snow in Chicago, than we had all of last winter.

OK ... off to do the final things to get ready to leave the house,

Might I suggest mittens?

Good Morning Cruisers.....we made it home safe and sound back to the snow in the mountains. NOW it looks like Christmas. I just kept laughing at the christmas lights on the palm trees. It just looked so funny to me. And it certainly didn't feel like Christmas.....all sunny and warm.

She goes on the Magic next Saturday... I'm not sure if she has left yet - I don't know... you would think she'd let me in on her travel plans..

Monica... do you know???

Same for us Ian. The wind is so scary sounding. I already warned Tyler we won't be able to stay out long. :scared1:

Don't forget to tell us what it is!

Sounds like she might be a good person to visit when you want an affordable escape :)
.
No, she doesn't like visitors. I've tried to take Tyler to see her many times, but she'd just rather not have people over. She has scleroderma, which is a disease that hardens the skin, so it has really changed her appearance. It travels to different parts of the body, sometimes it affects her face, and then she has trouble talking, sometimes it affects her hands and she can't do much until it moves to another part. She's had it for about 10 years and that's surprising because many people don't live that long once diagnosed because as it travels around the body, it can also travel internally and harden the organs. It's a very scary disease that not many people know about. She's exhausted all the time and just is too embarrassed to have people see her like that.

I've been over on MOUSE MANAGER looking at restaurant menues.

We've got a tad over two months till ADR booking window opens (about 3/6/09). Hopefully the new reservations system will be up and running...think that's supposed to start testing mid-January.

So, I know on the DDP that Spoodles is a premium (2 TS credits) for dinner...BUT WHAt ABOUT BREAKFAST??? Anyone.....Bueller? :confused3

.

Well, Tyler is bouncing on my bed, running around the living room in circles, etc. He desperately needs to go outside. Shoveling is good for his sensory needs because of the heavy pushing, so I'll borrow a neighbor's shovel so he can use his too. But I just don't think we'll last long out there, it's dangerously cold.

First off, I could hear you wispering about me...I'm not gone yet :rotfl2: We fly to WDW on Tuesday am, then Magic on next Saturday.

I've been getting ready at my desk, got it all cleaned up and billed paid early, which is a little hard to do, I can't pay my AM Ex bill until it closes tomorrow, strange how online bills work sometimes

All of Tyler's presents are in the trunk of my car (Marilyn, is that "boot" for you?). I have 3 under the tree for him from ME. I can't wait until Christmas and am so tempted to let him open them earlier! :goodvibes From me, he's getting the camo Timex with the helicopter second hand, a Pirates of the Caribbean lunch bag for school with his name stitched on (Disney Outlet online), and one of those Hamilton figurines (I think they're called Hamilton, can't remember) of Mickey & Pluto as firefighters, spraying a fire hose from the hydrant. Very cute! And that's it until he gets Santa's gifts. I CAN'T WAIT! I wish Santa could come early!

I also tore apart my bedroom looking for my phone cord. I'm starting to panic because I don't know if I'm supposed to pick Tyler up or if they'll still be at Tyler's aunt's for the Christmas gathering and his dad would drop him off here. I'm going to have to go use a neighbor's phone.

I'm off to go find a phone to use, and eat my lunch. :goodvibes

ok, ya gotta get an extra cord for your phone. I bought extras for mine (car and case) on ebay. The store I used shipped really fast. give it a look over, if your phone isn't too old you might find one.

.
Wrap the pictures individually, in different shapes and sizes.of boxes :santa:
.

Good idea :thumbsup2 I printed an 8x10 for free from walgreens last night and I have a scrapbook of his IKF races in progress, he is getting that for sure. We keep talking about no more gifts, but he is a kid and I'm not sure he can handle the emotion of being disappointed on that day. Most of the time Wil acts so grown up and mature, but every now and then he is the 8 year old little boy again...I have to remember that and be paitent and kind during these times and grateful for the others.

Nan packed it in her suitcase... ;)

HAHAHAHHAHAHaHAHAHAHAHHhHahhaahahahahahahhahahHHHAHAHAH

I haven't packed mine yet. Paul is almost done, the kids stuff is on the couch I only have 2 mickey dresses out so far. Today is my day to really pack (un huh sure....)

So...

ok, I'm here. I just realized that I have to bring my laptop or no DISing for me, it's too hard on the iPhone. I'll have to think this over I really didn't want to carry it, but I'd miss you :sad1: and no one in my family wants to talk to me in the middle of the night :scared1:

Sorry about the car Deb!!! Hope it isn't too bad. Glad you got home safely. You can now relax and enjoy Christmas.

Well, not exactly Marilyn....I only wish....yesterday we found out about my car and I was very upset. Today we found out about John's truck and now he is very very upset. He got in his truck today and had to use the plow to stop it. It seems that there is no brake fluid. The kid (yes, Nan I call him that for a good reason and this is why....Wilson would know better!!!)....the kid said they were normal when he first started driving the truck yesterday then they got squishy. John asked when the brake light came on and the kid said, what brake light.....I didn't see anything. GET A CLUE and get with the program kid. Not him. He has no idea. Not even the brakes all of a sudden going soft and not even the brake light coming on gave him any idication that maybe there's a problem. John got into his truck today and was furious to find NO BRAKES on a mountain in the snow. No warning from his son who was in the truck all day yesterday.....along with my car. We found out that the reason the fender is broken up on my car is because he used the truck to pull it out of the ditch and didn't hitch it up properly.....something about tieing it off to the radiator???? We're already down one vehicle right now. The kid's car bit the dust last week. So we're looking to replace it. In the meantime the only two vehicles we currently have, my car and John's truck, the kid killed both of them in one day. We don't like to leave him alone alot. He's not responsible. He can't be trusted to make good judgements. He doesn't even have a clue when he's screwing up. He makes a bad situation worse. Like I said, I would have trusted Wilson to know better.

Sorry for the rant.....I just needed to vent. Merry Christmas to us from the kid. He's expensive. He's always very expensive to keep around. I worried when we left town and it snowed and he was in charge. I was justified. He proved me right, very unfortunately. He's 36 years old. He's still the kid. Today, he's the flipping kid!

That sucks Deb. Since "the kid" has "the job" he can help pay for "the repairs" right???

We have had reason to be worried about our cars when we travel too at times. We have gotten to the point that we hide our keys. Fortuanately all the boys in my family (some of who we worry about) will be travelling with us, so that takes it off my mind for this trip

Think I'll ever get out???

Right Nan! Sometimes they never grow up. It's not a matter of age. Wilson at 8 would be more responsible than the kid at 36. It's sad because we know that if he has not gotten it by now, then he never will. He'll never be able to live on his own. Otherwise why is he still with us??? He's just not capable of taking care of himself. But his IQ is off the charts.....go figure.
