I'm happy to say I'm having a good week. I've slept crappy the last few nights with weird dreams, but work has been going well. I joined Curves when we got home from Alaska. I had been at a silent auction in April and got a 2 month pass for only $30, which is a great way to try it out.

This week started the "Queen competition" which is just to motivate people to make it in at least 3 times a week. Everybody that wants to compete got a paper crown on the wall, and as long as you get in 3 times in the week, your crown stays up and your name goes in the prize draw. My crown survived this week :goodvibes

Have a great weekend everybody! :wave
Shannon, great going! Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2

Here's Merlo:

Merlo is a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix with 80,000 miles. It was a good price and it's a great car for me to drive locally. It won't go to work with John. He hates the color and he's not thrilled that I bought a car. But I wanted it and he'll get over it. hahaha.

Deb, congrats!!! I love the color! :dance3:

Holly, any update on the speed dating? Did you get the results of who matches your picks for dates? Any dates coming up?

You know we want to hear all the details. haha.

Yes, I got my results yesterday. Nobody who I picked ended up picking me. Only one guy picked me, and he's a definite no. That's OK though, I really had a great time doing it! :goodvibes

Deborah----I thought of you last night...had a beer with you having your wine. Hope things get better for you at work.

Shannon---I love Curves. I used to work out there, and then ended up actually working there (when I lived in Maryland). Does your place have the Zumba workout? I'm curious to know what that means.

Kathe---thanks for checking in. Hope work goes well for you this week.

Michelle---can you slip Mom something to help her calm down? Whiskey, perhaps? JK. Aren't blood families a b i t c h?

Deb----will John forgive me for getting you infected w/ the car bug??? I hope so. How's your leg doing?

Holly---I'll pass along your "HI" to Marlene today. You know she's doing Hawaii with us too, right? She's bringing along a friend.

Where are Jackie, Ian, Kaz and Cheri?? They've been MIA.

I hope to get onto FB today--haven't been there all week.

Yes, I remembered she's doing Hawaii. That's great! Can't wait to see everybody! :woohoo:

Ian is at the hardware store, Cheri is taking her cousin to the airport, Kaz is somewhere between London and Paris and I'm doing lots of reading, so mostly lurking on the DIS. :lmao:

Actually, I don't think Kaz has been on the DIS much and I'm even having trouble getting a response from her on FB...think it's all the birthday celebrating! Need to nag her soon about some November cruise business.

:grouphug: for EVERYBODY!

.

Glad you're keeping tabs on everybody! :rotfl:

Up at 6:30am, 5 hours of driving roundtrip, a great 3 hour visit with 2 hours of that being a detailed tour of camp and so much walking I about passed out, managed to only twist my ankle twice (not enough to cause injury though), and now I'm home and have eaten a quick snack and need about an hour nap. I hate to take one this late in the day, but I honestly don't think I can keep my eyes open until bedtime. Well, I suppose I should try to stay up just another 3 hours and will just go to bed super early for the night. :thumbsup2

Glad you had a good visit...

don't take this the wrong way... but he didn't want to come home?? ;)

No. I knew he wouldn't, because he was really excited about doing 2 weeks. He just wanted a visit to break up the long time away. We left camp and went to Subway for lunch, with the idea of finding something to do away from camp, but he just wanted to get back. :thumbsup2 He really loved showing me everything though. :goodvibes

It was a good trial run for the 15 day Hawaii cruise without him coming up. :thumbsup2 Since we obviously won't be able to visit halfway through, I'm hoping I have cell service so I can call him. I had no service in Alaska.

He's so tired though. Kept falling asleep our whole time out. They really keep the kids going nonstop. Next week will be more tiring because he'll be staying in the rustic section, in tents, where they have to make their own campfires and cook their own food. He's super excited about it, but I think when he gets home next Saturday, he might want to lounge around at home and rest instead of spending the weekend out for the holiday weekend. :thumbsup2 I need to reconsider our tentative plans and just wing it based on how energetic he feels.

Maybe you can share an Internet connection with someone and send him an e-mail or two. :confused3

I hear they have cell phones in HI!!! :thumbsup2

He doesn't have email yet. I'll find a way to call. If my cell doesn't get service in Hawaii, I can always use a calling card when we're in port or something. There's always a way. No worries.

I did not think he had e-mail. I though you could send him an e-mail at his Dad or Step-Mom's e-mail address and they could print it out for him or let him use the computer to e-mail you back. But I did forget that Hawaii is a state and that USA phones ought to work there. I am sure you will find a plan that works for you and Tyler--you always do :thumbsup2

Jan, that makes sense about email. Alaska is a state and my phone didn't work there, but I do know that it will work using ship satellite service at $2.99/minute (I recently checked into it). While not very practical, it's totally fine for a couple quick calls when I know Tyler would be home. I'll just arrange days ahead of time with his dad. That will work just fine. :thumbsup2

I had cell service in Alaska....you can borrow my phone in Hawaii to call Tyler.

You really can borrow mine....it won't cost me anything. Use it everyday if you want. :goodvibes
