I'm happy to say I'm having a good week. I've slept crappy the last few nights with weird dreams, but work has been going well. I joined Curves when we got home from Alaska. I had been at a silent auction in April and got a 2 month pass for only $30, which is a great way to try it out.

This week started the "Queen competition" which is just to motivate people to make it in at least 3 times a week. Everybody that wants to compete got a paper crown on the wall, and as long as you get in 3 times in the week, your crown stays up and your name goes in the prize draw. My crown survived this week

My SIL, Kim and Will came up today for an overnight visit before Will goes up to camp in the Adirondacks for the week. Mom gets crazy when people come to visit. Cleans in crazy places... I took over and cooked dinner when she got the wrong things for dinner (we were going to make an easy chicken dinner and she bought the stuff for rolled stuffed chicken....so I cooked to keep her from getting even more nuts.

It comes from one time when my sister came to visit. She's super clean... to the point of overdoing it (of course she has the merry maids come every other week and hasn't cleaned a toilet since Brian was born 19 years ago...) 9 years ago, my sister was going to come and visit when we lived in the condo. We were clean, by most people's standards... by my sister came in and decided she couldn't stay and walked out. BIG family fight over it. Mom was very insulted and hurt. She's always been like this, but since then it has gotten worse. Of course MY problem is, that she picks everything up of MINE and throws it in my room, & my office. EVERYTHING... she makes piles of my stuff. Even things that don't belong in those rooms. Or the rest of my stuff goes into the garage. I can't WAIT until I can get a house of my own. I would never do that to her.. she belongs where I live.. but when she does it to me, she just makes me feel unwelcome.

Hi Everyone! Ditto what Shannon said....thanks Shannon, it just makes it easier for me and I don't have to repeat you.

Monica gave me her bug.....carwise! I have been without a car for a good long time. We have a car that commutes to work with John and a truck with a plow for snow. Since we have spent a lot of time and money replacing the Beast, we didn't replace my car when we gave Casey a car.....basically mine. So everytime I need to go out, we have to rent a car and it has gotten very epensive. Since Monica was looking at cars, I thought I would do the same thing. Well I found something that I wanted. It's not as new as Monica's, but it's what I can afford as a second (third) vehicle in the house. I got approved over the phone and the car is still available. It's right down the road from my house at a mom and pop owned car dealer. John and I are going to see it today and put down part of the deposit. Next week I'll have the remainder of the deposit and can pick it up. BUT I will have a car!!!!!!!! I'm so psyched. It's been so long that I have been stuck in this house without one. I'll post pictures. I think I'll name her Merlo.

Merlo is a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix with 80,000 miles. It was a good price and it's a great car for me to drive locally. It won't go to work with John. He hates the color and he's not thrilled that I bought a car. But I wanted it and he'll get over it. hahaha.

Now I'm awake at this ridiculous hour.....can't sleep coz I'm too excited to go and see my car today. I wish I could pick it up today, but it wasn't in the budget this week. So I'll have to wait until next weekend. I just bought a new TV to replace the one that died when I got home from vacation.

My next expense is going to have to be a new laptop. I kept getting the "BLUE SCREEN" and problems with my computer locking up. Finally it died. John had to restore the operating system to 15 days prior. Don't ask me what that means.....he's my IT guy. Now it's working. It's saying that I have run out of RAM memory. I started deleting stuff all over the place. Now it's working, but I'm being very nice to it. I'm trying to keep this one alive for a little while longer.

I have to pay for Casey and Brittany's Nov cruise and then I have to pay for Hawaii. I can't have these electronic expenses. I have priorities!! haha.

Hello all!

I'm now at Ricker's , waiting for them to check out the car. $25 for a full look over. Not a bad cost in my opinion. I hope they don't find anything wrong.

After this, I'm off to the library....need to return books, pick up another one, and donate a box full of books. There are still more at home, but atleast some are now out of the house. They've been accummulating in the "old" scrap room. I did some more shifting of scrap crap into the new room last, and plan on doing a little more today. Actually thinking of cleaning up alittle of the "old" room as there are piles of crap everywhere. Not sure what I need to keep, what I want to keep, what I can donate or what needs to be tossed.

Shannon---I love Curves. I used to work out there, and then ended up actually working there (when I lived in Maryland). Does your place have the Zumba workout? I'm curious to know what that means.

looks like I need to do a tire rotation now....will need to buy 2 new tires soon, but that's it. I know that there is 1 electrical short in the driver's speaker...music goes in & out. Will need to get that taken care of, but not today.

Ian is at the hardware store, Cheri is taking her cousin to the airport, Kaz is somewhere between London and Paris and I'm doing lots of reading, so mostly lurking on the DIS.

Actually, I don't think Kaz has been on the DIS much and I'm even having trouble getting a response from her on FB...think it's all the birthday celebrating! Need to nag her soon about some November cruise business.

Michelle, I keep writing posts about how your sister should get a life and they are not showing up. This is my third attempt to tell you that Claire is nuts!!!

Deb... you are SOOO right!!!

But she's turning out to be the normal one lately...

Kim showed up last night with Will... Mom finally calmed down because we had no choice but to stop cleaning... We ate dinner (which I have to say came out very good...) and we went to Jacks for ice cream. THEY were freezing... but we've gotten used to sub freezing temps...

THEN we came home and argued about putting up the aero bed.. "Ohh Will can sleep on the floor..." finally I just put the damn thing up... Took my water and snacks upstairs and sequestered myself in my bedroom...

It's the little things that are getting to me...

She wanted to check the website for the camp this morning so I brought down my laptop after arguing about her going up to my messy office (since mom has dumped everything in there...) and then she sat there and picked apart my computer... "This isn't starting up on time..." "Somethings wrong with your computer..." "this shouldn't happen to a relatively new computer..." "why am I getting a message about a blocked page?" (my security blocked a virus...) I could have called the camp in that time and gotten the directions to the camp in the time I had to deal with the nit picking.

I swear... my brother had to stop listening ages ago... I know it drives Will crazy... I think he was a bit embarrassed last night by some of the things she was saying...

I asked him if he brought bear repellant (joke...) (he got it...) Of course there are bears in the mountains Kim.. there are bears in JERSEY!!!!!

She used to be more normal... but I think with menopause...
