Hi everyone!

Hi Michelle :yay:

Gee...how is everyone? Has it really been that long since I've posted that a search party was necessary :confused3 I'm sorry if I worried anyone, but thanks for caring :grouphug:

I really feel like I just got back home from my 3 week vacation! It's been super busy here ever since.

Spring has sprung :daisy::flower::flower1: I have been so busy planting and weeding and mowing and weeding :faint:

Work is keeping me very busy too...I've been busy training my staff as I have also started being trained myself for my new role in my company. I will soon be going for a couple of weeks of training (sorry, I'll be away from here some more :sad2:) and then will have different responsibilities and hours, although the same pay

I came home to discover that a friend of mine has had a heart attack (but is okay, certainly a wakeup call though) and my Mother-in-Law has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's :sad1: We all really knew this already, but were hoping for a dementia that was less aggressive. She has not done well in the last 6 months despite medication.

Of course, I've also spent a number of days catching up with Serenity :cutie:

So...please forgive me for not checking in here! I really can't believe it's been that long!

Hugs and prayers to all in need :grouphug:

Kathe,

Sending positive energy your way.

I got the official offer from HR yesterday....start date from home is 7/6...last day in the office 7/5.

My manager was not happy....she said "I'm disappointed, after everything I did for you".....I replied that she knew I wanted to work from home (I started this before we moved into the building we're in now...so almost 4 years ago). I had even given her the opportunity to go to the client & see if they would pay to set me up at ....if they would, I would have stayed with the same account. Oh well...her loss :)

I will be getting a raise too...$1.00...not much, but so much better than nothing & more than I expected (it's considered a lateral move).

Congratulations! When do you start the transition?

Well.. someone mentioned days ago that you hadn't been heard from.. not even on FB...:rotfl: Glad you are ok.. Get a note for when you will be busy next time... Serenity lots!!!

Hi Kathe! Glad that you're getting to spend time with Serenity - hope she helps you de-stress from work.

Hi Ian!

I'll be starting to get the home office set up in the following weeks (it's also my guest room, so it has to be a guest room 1st as Dad comes in on Friday). They will be mailing the computer stuff to me, so the only thing that I need to do is set up a dedicated internet line. I will be using an internet based phone that BCD will also provide.

I will be handling the travel for the Maxim IC company (http://www.maxim-ic.com/ NOT the magazine :rotfl:) instead of the Reed Elsevier people. I'm looking forward to learning new things.

I'm almost done w/ the garage cleaning....I have a bunch of stuff to put out on Thursday....tons of cardboard for the recycling people.

Can you recycle styrofoam???

Will be finishing up :laundy:, and should be tackling the guest room before the end of the day.

Great news Monica, after all this time. So pleased for you :cheer2::cheer2:

We have brunched... shopped and discussed my car which is dead in the driveway (battery... again... I don't drive it enough and it runs down the batteries...) It's only got 39,000 miles on it and it's 6 years old.. :confused3

Speaking of 6 years... on the 20th.. we will be here in upstate NY for 6 years :banana::banana: (doesn't feel like it though...)

Gotta get the gardening done in the next day or so... storms are around so it's making it tough and mom couldn't do the heat last week when it was in the 90's...

It's 56 degrees today, still no rain, and a beautiful day! I actually had to shut my windows because it got chilly, but I'm fine with that. I should be doing yard work since it's not hot outside, but......well, we all know how I feel about yard work. ;) I should be cleaning, but my motivation fizzled. Tyler's room is done, except for hanging up a few of his party decorations he wanted to keep, and I should start my room but it's looking doubtful. Might take a nap instead before picking Tyler up. Did some grocery shopping on the way home from church. I should do another load of laundry, but the load I washed yesterday isn't quite dry yet, so that will have to wait until tonight or tomorrow.

We're going to Cedar Point Friday after work, coming home late Saturday night, so I'm making final plans for that today. My original plan was to take Friday off work so we could spend 2 whole days there. For the first time in the 6 1/2 years I've worked there, ALL the lawyers in my section will be out that day, so even though my co-worker Jan doesn't work Fridays, there's really no need for me to be there because the guys are all leaving before noon on Thursday, so we'll have all Thursday afternoon to get all our work caught up. I figured I'd be crazy to NOT take advantage of the chance at an unexpected day off. BUT that day will be a party at child care for Tyler and I'm not sure he'll want to miss it. It's a Spanish theme for the week, so they'll be learning all about the foods and culture and traditions, etc., building up to a fiesta on Friday, so he'd be sad to miss out after the hype they'll create all week over it. And since I paid for the whole week, it would be foolish to waste the money already spent. SO......I'll probably only work a half day, pick him up early that day, and then head out. Tyler doesn't even know this yet, he'll be so excited when I tell him today!!!

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

How can I go take a nap NOW when Bon Jovi's streaming live from Munich!!!!!!:cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

NICE Jersey Boy... I may get struck by lightning... but I like BJ better than Springsteen... :scared:

Headed to bed early... didn't sleep very well last night and meant to take a quick nap... but I had to stay up to watch Bon Jovi... :cloud9:

So...

Morning Ladies (and Gents) across the pond!!! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Oh my gosh, he wants to see me 2 weekends in a row! :scared1: This is when I freak out and cancel, running fast, and is probably why I'm still single. :headache: Just dinner next Sunday and then the following weekend dinner and a movie. I politely (at least I hope it sounded polite) told him lets just see how it goes the first day and take it from there. :scared:

Bon Jovi trumps nap, totally reasonable. :thumbsup2

Good night!

DIS help requested:

I got a brief message the other day. I do not remember how I found the alert for it. Not a PM but shorter and different page format. I answered it and
my reply was too long. I could only send 1000 words, not the over 3000 I had written. So I cut off the last 2000-plus and told her that the rest of the reply would be coming in a PM. I PMed her but have no reply there, and
now I cannot find her initial missive.

Does anyone have any idea how she sent it?
where on the DIS to find it?
PMs I know--and have used them for YEARS, but this I never saw before.

Thanks in advance for any assistance anyone can provide.

Hoping you are all doing well,
Jan

Jan... in your upper right hand side... under where it says welcome... it should say "your notifications"... maybe it's in there somewhere...

If it wasn't a PM, then I don't know what it could have been... another post on a thread perhaps? Do you have her disname? You could try searching for her under the search tab on the top...

Otherwise... :confused3

Good luck!

Look through all the options on the notifications even if it says you don't have any right now... it might have been a visitor message...
