The media circus started today here in Orlando.....Casey Anthony's trial. I read that there were people standing in line outside of the courthouse starting at 4am in order to get 1 of the 50 tickets to be a spectator. Read that there were "Two women, who waited three hours for their tickets to see Casey, flew in from New York and planned their summer vacations around the trial. They've been following through the Internet and national coverage since 2008." Ok people!

I have the news about it on in the background....while sleeping and awake. I'm following it as much as I can. I'm very interested in it. BUT I'm not going to change my lifestyle to fit around it. That's just nuts!

Ian... are you not going on the Fantasy?

when do you have your dummy dates booked?

I have it booked as a dummy booking but we have WDW planned with some friends at that time, so will be doing that.

Well......I ended up blowing off the lawn last night.....I have other things on my mind & figure I got the bad part on Monday :lmao:

Spoke w/ Cheri the other night....told her that I may have to cxnl out the Nov B2B (it effects her, as she's my roomie). I realized today that if I do cxnl out those cruises, I can cash in my vacation purchase days & get the $ back (that could then go towards Hawaii). :scratchin I purchase 1 weeks worth of vacation time every year (40 hrs, $ gets taken out each paycheck)....if we use the time, then we get paid like it was a regular vacation day we were using and if we don't use the time, then we get that $ back. NO decisions being made yet, but I have to think about everything. Hawaii is definately my priority.

I had to cancel Nov too because of Hawaii. First, John doesn't have enough time off to do both, plus the expense. I still have to pay for Casey and Brittany to go. I can't afford to pay for them and for me. I have to still let them go because Casey is asking Brittany to marry him onboard. Brittany doesn't know. So I can't take that away from them. Then John said if I take him back to Nassau one more time......we've been there 4 or 5 times already....he's had enough. So I can't do Nov. I'll do Hawaii instead.

I am trying for the private room at Palo for the Hawaii cruise. Does anyone want to join me? If so you know the drill - name, room #, & ressies #. Pm me.

This is for brunch right? I'll definitely PM you with my info. First I have to find it. But I'm in!!!

I had no service the whole Alaska cruise. But I realized after a few days, it actually was wonderful to be out of contact with the real world. :thumbsup2

It was a strange trip because I usually have to put the phone away for the whole cruise. This time I had to remember when I was in Canada and turn it off and when I was in US in port and turn it on. Even in US on the water I had to turn it off. I had service the whole time, anything out of a US port was roaming, so I kept it off during those times.

Eastern, 7 nights, stops at St. Thomas/St. Marten, Puerto Rico, and CC. I wasn't able to book this payday like I'd hoped, so maybe next payday on the 15th. :thumbsup2 And hopefully the price doesn't go up by then. It's really, really reasonable right now (or was the last time I checked a week ago). Not sure how many others are going, but I know Lisa and Darrell, Heather and family, Jackie, and I can't remember who else.

Sounds good. I always wanted to see the boat decorated for Christmas. I'll just check the website and see how reasonable it is. If I pursue it I will be getting divorced though. haha. I don't think John will have any time off available either. Shucks. But I'm still going to look. haha.

We'll be in WDW then.

Sure, make me want to go now even more....we could always add days at WDW before or after cruise to meet you too. This would be great to go on....

REMEMBER DEB: John doesn't have unlimited days off or funds and you really don't want to get divorced!!!

But I'm still going to look.....just in case! One never knows if one is going to win Lotto or not!

I think we'll be the the same dates as the cruise.. The really good part is that my company is going to be closing down the week of Christmas from thisnyear on, so we'll get home and have another week off!

You haven't gotten them to give you Thanksgiving week off? :confused3

Bathroom is clean, even scrubbed the floor. Whew! Glad to have that nasty chore done! Well, I haven't scrubbed the tub yet, but that's the easiest part. :thumbsup2

I vaccumed the stairs and the hallway tonight... I'm doing one big thing a day along with smaller things. Of course I'm not having any parties soon... and the family doesn't come to visit much. I'm going to work outside tomorrow if there aren't any thunderstorms. It's supposed to go up to about 90 tomorrow and Monday...

No yard work here tomorrow, it's supposed to be storming all day. So that means my mom won't be coming after all, since the reason she was coming was to help with outside stuff, which means I don't have to go into panic mode and try to stay up half the night cleaning. ;) But I still need to work at it all day tomorrow and Monday to get ready for the party, but I can do it at a slow pace and not worry about her freaking out at the huge messes everywhere. And this time, I'm getting rid of tons of stuff, so there will be no reason for the house to get in this condition again. Once it's totally clean, it will be easier to keep up, hopefully. The problem is that it's such a small house, it gets messy really fast. But on the other hand, since it's so small, it shouldn't take so long to clean. :guilty: I've been trying to get it all done for a year now. At least I finally have the motivation, so little by little we're making progress. Tyler's bedroom is AWESOME because he's literally gotten rid of about half of his things, so he has very little items left in his room to organize. :yay: I will need his help gutting my room too.

Good thing....coz I'm really NOT going to be able to do this trip after the Hawaii cruise. Let it be! Cruise within my means....it's my new mantra. Ha.

How wonderful to have a vaca week off away and then at home again thereafter. NICE!

Oh, and I bought some clothes today for exercise/walking! :thumbsup2 I realize I don't need special outfits for that, but I honestly don't have anything that fits other than clothes I wear to work, and those aren't practical clothes for exercising. I plan on starting up my Jillian Michaels workout video again, and also want an exercise ball to do exercises with that too, and with walking, I'll have 3 different forms of exercise to alternate, so hopefully that will keep me from getting bored. I found tons of exercises online for the ball, so I'm hoping for motivation to keep it up. I have a friend on FaceBook who posts every evening about how much she hates exercise and forces herself to workout every night, no matter how much she hates it, and has lost 45 pounds so far. Seeing her success, and how she hates exercise as much as I do, has helped motivate me. I'm hoping tomorrow will be my first day on this new path. Even if I start out only being able to handle 10 minutes a day of whatever I choose for that day, that's a start and is way better than absolutely nothing (which I've been doing for years now).

And now that Tyler is running, I want us to be able to do that together and get healthy together. He's gained so much weight from his meds (which is why the doctor keeps trying to get him off one of them), he gets called fat at school, and is feeling horrible about himself, and has started running, up to 2 miles a day. He still gains weight continually because of the med, but if he keeps up the running/walking habit, it will help him get the weight off once we're able to stop the med. Anyway, we both want to get healthy together. :goodvibes

Isn't it a shame kids can be so mean so young? It is good though that it has got him moving, and of course great that you will run too!!! Are there any 5K runs you will be able to aim for, like a Cancer support one? Children quite like doing something and getting money to give to others. Go Tyler and Holly!!!:yay:

Isn't it a shame kids can be so mean so young? ...

I have absolute horror stories about my childhood, which I do not look on fondly because I was fat, bookish and not interested in sports, nor did I necessarily get a lot of support at home either, though my brother who had very bad grades but was a football player was greatly admired.

Interesting thing is that I was the one who turned out to be successful, as tough as nails with an iron will.

Yes, kids are mean. It's so sad.

Yup, there are plenty of 5K runs throughout the summer. His favorite is every fall, called the Dinosaur Dash and money is raised for the Michigan State University Natural History Museum. Up until now he has done the "Museum Mile", but this year we will both try to do the 5K. There are many throughout the summer to raise money for children's hospitals and other kids' organizations which we will probably do as well.

And since the day he started walking/running during both morning and afternoon recess at school, he's not had one single physical outburst causing him to need the time out room at school! Late afternoons are still rough for him, and there ARE still issues that make him unable to be in the "regular" 3rd grade classroom, but nothing extreme and no aggression towards others. I spoke to the school occupational therapist about this a few days ago and we came to the conclusion that perhaps the running is the appropriate intensity of sensory input his body craves to stay more regulated. It's a major breakthrough!

Ian, I'm so sorry your childhood had to be like that. :( I actually wasn't overweight as a child, but my mom thought I was and said some horribly nasty things to me about it my whole childhood (actually still does, but I AM of course overweight now), and kids all called me "bookworm" and "nerd" my whole childhood (including my step-siblings) because I always had a book with me and always had straight A grades my whole school years. And I was teased horribly about my nose (one boy started the whole high school calling me "big nosed witch" but replace the w with a b). So I can relate. And I'm not surprised you turned out strong and succesful because people in our shoes learn that strength from being tormented so much as children.
