I think instead of pink boas we need pink Leuis (sp?) this time!

Looking forward to sailing with so many of you again!

Krisann

I bet Deb could be talked into pink leis! ::yes::
(yep, I had to look up the correct spelling)

And maybe an artificial pink orchid for our hair....or something....

.

Thanks Holly. You posted while I edited.

(is the acquaintance who asked you to stop posting on FB about Disney the guy we talked about before?)

I thought Jayson was married.

Nope, the one we talked about before (his name is Mike) now only "talks" with me openly on FB, so he's doing things right now, after I talked to him about that. :thumbsup2 This other guy is just a guy from my teenage years (his name is Jerry), we stay in touch occasionally, but he seems to think I'm the same person I was back then. I think he may have blocked me (in a private message he told me he might) because he didn't respond to my last couple comments. Fine with me, if that's how he's going to act.

Jayson is married, but not for much longer. Their marriage is over in every respect other than paperwork. They are still living together because their boys have lots of special needs and it's just easier to have them both there working together in that regard. If he comes on the cruise, it's purely platonic. He's just my buddy, and neither of us has any feelings beyond that. We've just developed a good friendship from my being sort of a shoulder to lean on, and somebody to listen. She and I email each other occasionally because she often shares tips she uses with her students that she thinks will help with Tyler (she's a speech therapist in a local school with overlap in dealing with EI kids). She knows he's considering the cruise. He most likely won't go on the cruise because that would be too much time away from his boys (understandably) and he's only ever spent a couple overnights away from them.

:grouphug: to all with troubles. I have been lurking and sent prayers. :grouphug:

I cannot find a thread for the Hawaii cruise. Could someone post the address please? Thanks.

Must admit pink leis are a draw!! Tom said he could find something to do if I wanted to come to CG :)

we are guarenteed 11C

THANKS MONICA for posting that Gold could book today. I was at a conference all day but read the post while the presenter was getting organized and used our break to call in.

YES, YES, YES!!!! Sounds perfect! :goodvibes

Question - did CG start with this cruise or was it carried over from another cruise - I know it has a following now as I have been to others - but none have really compared to the one we had!

It was started for the 2008 Westbound Panama Canal cruise. Mandy & Deb came up w/ the idea & the rest is history :lmao: We've had meets on the 09 Tortola cruise (w/ Deb), there was 1 on the WBTA last year & I know we have one on the 1st Alaska (with Deb) and the November Dream cruise (don't remember which part of the B2B, also w/ Deb).

Holly - FYI - you're in late dining right now...figured you'd be with us :)

Someone already asked Connie to run one on the Hawaii cruise...

Perfect, thanks Monica! I'm planning on LOTS of adult beverages since I won't be on Mom duty!!!! :cool1: I don't have to be responsible for 15 days! Holy cow, I can't even imagine how cool this will be! BEST.......VACATION......EVER!!!!! :yay:

Only bad thing is that Mothers Day will fall during the cruise. I'm fine with it, but I can see Tyler's dad thinking that's horrible of me to not want to have Tyler with me on Mothers Day. Hmmm.........maybe I'll see if my mom would want to spend that day with Tyler. I think she'd like that. :thumbsup2

I'm so tired of being the outcast of the family. My dad's family, not my mom's. If it weren't for Tyler, I wouldn't even bother with staying in touch with any of them. :guilty: The last time I saw them was the end of January for my stepmom's birthday dinner. I had called her the day before to ask if we could come visit and possibly take her out for a birthday lunch if she was free. She told me they already had plans, a birthday dinner with the whole family at my sister's house. Oh, and if you want to come, you can. Would have been nice to have been invited in advance like everybody else was. :sad2: Makes me so sad to think Tyler would have missed out on time playing with his 3 cousins who he misses so much and always wants to see.

Ever since I moved out of town in 2001, I've made the drive for every single birthday and event they bothered to tell me about, every single year, but most of them have only driven here once or twice in all those years. When I brought this up a few years back, the answer I got was "Well, you're the one who moved away and refuses to move back." :headache: Do they not care that they're excluding a great little kid who loves them all so much?

Well tonight I saw a post by my brother who lives in Tennessee that said "Enjoying a wonderful dinner at mom's with the whole family". :sad1: Fortunately Tyler's not here to miss out on it, but I posted "Gee, sounds like fun, wish I'd known." :rolleyes1 It's not like I live hours away. It's an hour and a half at most each way.

For about a year recently, I tried every single month to plan get togethers with all of them, all together or a few at a time, whatever worked for each of them. I'd send out an email to everybody, and usually only get one response, if I'm lucky, saying "Oh, we're really busy every weekend, but we'll let you know soon". All Tyler's cousins have sports they play and school plays and things like that which make it hard for anybody to get together, that I do understand, but why not let us come watch whatever event is going on with the rest of the family who go watch? It just makes me sick. :sad1:

JAN!!! Oh, I am so happy you and Tom will be on this cruise. We will have to plan a lunch at Triton's or something. :grouphug:

Holly, I am so sorry. There is no way to "fix" other people. Just love your boy.

Holly--I am sorry too. Angie is right.

Fortunately you can choose your friends and collect people who do share your interests and values.

How about a Mother's Day event with you and Tyler a week early or a week late? Call it a Special Mother's Day and then that frees him up to be part of the celebration for his stepmom.

JAN!!! Oh, I am so happy you and Tom will be on this cruise. We will have to plan a lunch at Triton's or something. :grouphug:

 sounds good!

Hawaii has long been on Tom's bucket list as has Alaska. When his sister and other friends reported on their Alaska cruises and asked when we were going he would say "when Disney goes". They would laugh. He got the last laugh! We are on the WONDER in August.

Since I read this thread I knew about Hawaii so we could discuss it. He checked his calendar and said he could go. I am attending a conference and he cannot rationalize spending work time on the phone or computer with DCL ao we were going to see what was available Friday night.

BUT

that angel, MONICA, posted that gold could book on Thursday. I read that during the conference while the presenter was getting organized so used my break to call. I stood in the back of the room with Beauty and the Beast music in my Bluetooth and when I got Paula from DCL I stepped out, made the reservation, wrote the # on a napkin and went back to the confernce.

We got the confirmation e-mail about 20 minutes later so when I met Tom for our lunch break I showed it to him on my I-phone.

Started with this one. :goodvibes

That is what I thought but wanted to make sure - on another place I had said it had and they did not think so . . . I did not argue :)

This was only my 3rd cruise when we took it and the first really being part of the DIS group so I had no idea for sure! Gosh, now 4 years later I get to cruise with many from this group again and it will be my 11 or 12 cruise with Disney! I loved being part of this group and the CG!

That is what I thought! I did go to the CG on teh WBTA last year and one is planned for the EBTA this year too that I will attend also.

:thumbsup2

You know we were onboard for Mother's Day for this cruise too! I had not thought about that. But I agree with others - celebrate a week early or when you get back, maybe arrange for a quick cell phone call (not sure where we will be - need to look)

Krisann

I saw comments about the CG on the Hawaii thread.....I made a few points commenting that the ORIGINAL & FOUNDING CGs are on the Hawaii cruise. I hope I don't start a rumble! :rotfl2:
