Thanks Marilyn...

We did talk about it today... Soon I will talk to my sister and see what we can work out. I think that she will be ok with it. She's got an empty house with the kids at college and she has a nice mcmansion with a guest suite that my mom can live in.

We've also decided that if it ever comes to it... that my mom can go to a nice assisted living place in the town we used to live in in NJ. It is near my brothers and easy for me to get to also.

What I have to realize most is that it is not my sole responsibility. I love mom but I also have to have some sort of life myself. Otherwise with my luck she WILL be like the real QM and live to over 100!!!

& on a good note...we are going to go and see......

At Proctors tonight :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

We've been waiting until last fall to see it... our local newspaper called it "near perfect":thumbsup2

Michelle, I agree with what Marilyn said....but it looks like you are talking with the QM about working that out. That's a good step in the right direction.

Don't forget we're doing Niagra Falls this summer.....I think we talked about doing it around the end of July or the beginning of August. You should come by yourself to meet with us. Take a break from your mom responsibilities. ;)

The end of July sounds great. Maybe we should set a date and book some rooms. We don't want to wait until late....remember we book a year or so in advance most times. haha.

Mark is still going to do it? Tom and Kris were both engaged and they both broke up with their girlfriends. So sad. How long has Mark been going out with his girlfriend? Are they high school sweethearts? I wish them lots and lots of love and luck.:lovestruc:lovestruc:cutie::lovestruc:lovestruc

We could do the weekend of July 23rd or the 30th. That's two weeks before Mark's wedding or one week before.

July 30 is also the four year anniversary of my mom's death. Wow that's going fast. It feels like it just happened about a year ago. I can't believe that it's been that long without her. It still hurts and I miss her. Then my brother called on Monday to say that my mom's best friend just died. I know they are together.

If we could do it one week before the wedding, it would be a great distraction for me hitting mom's anniversary. Kind of like my first mother's day with all of you onboard the Magic.

Michelle :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug: You've been given some good advice, so I'll just add some more hugs, prayers and pixie dust :wizard:

Enjoy Lion King!!! I saw it in Toronto many years ago...it was awesome!!!

Sometimes just being able to actually talk about it and get everything out in the open helps so much and I bet you feel much better already. You will both appreciate each other so much more after a break.

I hope you can soon enjoy some you time.

You all probably know I have been having continued pain which has been increasingly affecting our lives here as well as being very unpleasant of course. I always said I would go back to the doctors in February if things hadn't settled as we had these last 2 vacations and cruises booked and had travel insurance in place which included my acute pancreatitis. As soon as you go back to the doctors and have tests etc it cancels all that and I wouldn't have been covered!

Anyway I went back last Friday and the upshot is he believes I now have Chronic Pancreatitis. It is a shock, but we aren't convinced as yet so I am ok. I have to have another ultrasound scan next week and had some blood tests. Have to continue with the same pain meds and not feel bad about taking them. We will see how it all goes. Basically nothing has changed treatment wise for now, but I am going back to being stricter with the low fat diet after enjoying more yummy food on the last cruise!!!!!

If you bother looking it up, it hasn't been caused by alcohol!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just an FYI, it may be better to do it the weekend of the 23rd because a three night reservation on the 30th was $100 more than the weekend before. I booked both weekends in a hotel on the Canadian side right near the Falls. For 3 nights it will cost me $650 or $750 total depending on the weekend chosen. That's a lot, but it's a good location so I booked it twice. I'll cancel one weekend when we figure it out.

So how was the show? Did you wear your Mickey ears?.....hahaha.:lmao::lmao::lmao:

WELCOME to the CRONIC and ACUTE club Marilyn. Isn't it aweful!!! Everything that I have wrong with me healthwise is always described as cronic and acute.....meaning that it's very bad and it's constant. I know that pancreatitis is one of the worst pains and could be so serious if you are not monitored regularly.

Even though it was only my dog, I saw what pancreatitis did to Gandalf. My favorite dog had an attack of it. He was seriously sick for a while. He and my mom were in the hospital at the same time and I think I cried harder for him than her. I felt guilty about it too.

I remember Gandalf being lathargic and not eating anything and the vet said that he was in a great deal of pain and that it was very serious. He had to stay at the vet for over a week. That vet bill could have bought me a long cruise with a verandah. hahaha. They had to give him his meds for his epilepsy also so that he wouldn't have any seizures. He was such a sick dog, but he was the best dog that either me or John ever owned. We still miss him so much and even though it's been almost five years and we have Angel and Ella and the turtles, he was my favorite pet ever and I still cry for him. He will always have a special place in our hearts.

Thanks Deb. Yes I had noticed it seems to be an illness that dogs get. Poor little things. They can't tell you they are in pain either, though it is obvious of course. Horrible to see them in so much pain. At least they don't have the alcohol problem linked. That is the biggest problem so at least I have that on my side. Problem with alcoholics is that sometimes they don't heed the warnings, so it is a death sentence to be honest. And a painful one at that.

However, for me it isn't a definite until it is, and I am the same today as I was this time last week!!

Hopefully your pain meds are non-narcotic. Do they help you any? I hope so. It's a horrible feeling to live with severe pain everyday. I must say, your change of diet is doing you good. You look splendid. Is it hard to stay on a low fat diet? I would think that you can't eat anything.

Marilyn, we are doing a Champagne Girls on the Alaskan cruise. I just got the boas in the mail and the tiaras are on their way. We will have a good turnout.....44 ladies so far. The one I will miss the most is you. This one you would like. But we will do it again one day and by then I'll be fully polished so it will be the best one!! I just wanted you to know that you will be very missed, but with us in spirit. I will do a cheers to you!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks Deb, I did put a little weight on on the last cruise as I decided to try eating things I previously hadn't and found out I was no worse!!:lmao: So it was harder to stop again. I am lucky in that I like cottage cheese and salad, so most lunches that is what I have, and do enjoy it. I have bread without butter/spread and eat low fat yogurts and fruit. We normally eat lots of chicken/fish and vegetables and love that too. However, if I thought it was going to have to be forever I would be cross!!! There are lots of low fat products out there now, but the problem with some of them is what they put in instead.

Well I guess it is easier if you think it might cause you problems, but overall I find it easy to follow in my normal everyday life. It must not be a NO fat diet though as we do need some, but I usually use Olive Oil if anything which is a good fat for helping reduce high cholesterol which I have.

Aaaw thank you Deb, that means a lot. I am sure you are going to have a great time and I look forward to seeing the photos. Your champagne girls are the best!:thumbsup2
