:cloud9: Sounds like you had a great day Shannon!

Holly-great deal on Alaska, I'm glad you are booked once again :thumbsup2

Michelle  Sorry your tooth is hurting :headache:

Hi everyone :wave2:

Kathe, I'm glad too! Now to pay for LA to VAN in a couple days, then book airfare the end of Feb. I'm going to make it happen. :goodvibes

I just booked the evening tour to Alcatraz for Sara, Trevor and I :thumbsup2 I booked on my own, not through DCL. Today was 90 days out, so first day bookings could be made for Apr29th. By the time I got home from work, there were no longer tickets available for the evening (unless it's a glitch on their website) so I'm glad I called from work!
Good job! :thumbsup2

Sorry about the toothache Michelle. I hate that. It seems to affect everything, teeth, mouth, neck, head, the whole body. Horrible. I hope it doesn't mean a root canal treatment though.

It does affect everything... doesn't it... :sad2:

Hi everyone :wave2:

Hi Kathe!!!:yay:

That's why you picked Alaska, right ;):lmao: Actually, after the cold we've had here this winter, I'm not worried about the Alaska temps anymore!

Today I went out with nothing extra than a sweatshirt and I was nice and warm still.... I think I've gotten used to :cold::cold::cold:

Next I try wearing shorts..

I've already been to Alcatraz back in the '90's when my sister lived near SF... Mom and I thinking of the Disney museum and then just wandering to our favorite places in the city... and have Ghiardelli... :goodvibes

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

See...you shouldn't have cancelled Alaska, we should be getting some nice long days there :thumbsup2 Of course, I'm hoping they are not long rainy days!

Well I mightn't have if they hadn't had poopy pants day of week departures that required to burn up even more vacation days.

I'm sure I'll get my day in the sun.

It's pretty rare for me to wear a coat. We do have a crazy neighbor who ALWAYS wears short. Other neighbors who have lived here 20 years have never seen him wear long pants. I was mean and snuck a picture of him shoveling a while back and put it on FaceBook. :rotfl2:

After Facebook discussion with Angie and our cruise pharmacist Dennis, I did some Internet research on Vitamin D.

Vitamin D3 is the recommended one as it can be stored in the body. The dosage I saw was 2,000 mg for people under 40 and double that for over 40.

I am amazed at how much better I feel over-all since I started taking it :yay:

I'm sure you will get your day in the sun too, and you deserve it

After the Alaska cruise my next one will be May 2012 on the Fantasy, should be lots of sun for that one :beach:

Hi Jan! Good to know :thumbsup2 February is the month I seem to have always had trouble with. I do think it is caused by the lack of sunshine, we seem to get more sunny days in January than February here. I am not one for taking vitamins or supplements...but I'll keep this in mind and may give it a try if I start feeling the need.

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend.

I'm heading to work now, I ended up having to work a yucky late shift today...we have a new process at work starting today and I have to train a couple of my employees on it so I had no choice.

I think Kaylee was also telling us about this one... of course she's been on a boat getting sunshine this week, so we'll have to wait until she's back before we ask her...

Hi Michelle :yay:

Hi Kathe!!!:yay:

How is Toronto?

Dr. Kaylee will be so happy to read this! :thumbsup2 She's been educating us all on this for a very long time, and she certainly knows her stuff! :goodvibes

We bought some Vit D 2000mg capsules over in the US last October and took one each day till we came on this trip. Haven't bothered here as we are in the sun. We have also even well(apart from my ongoing problem) so we will continue through the winter back home. There is a different measurement back home so not sure what we need to buy over there so I have asked Dennis's advice. Perhaps we should have been taking 2x capsules, but so far so good.

I think Dennis is going to have lots of us asking him... ;)

so Marilyn... are you getting ready for the big snow storm????

Not sure... we are in the "heavy accumulation" section...but we might get a mix of snow and ice and if we do... :scared1:

I'mmmmmm Dreaming of a palm-ammm tree... Just like the ones I used to know... :rolleyes1

My hometown, where we just were today, coincidentally, is supposed to get 20 inches! That's just not possible. In my 40 years, that's only happened ONCE, back in the late 70s. I was 7 or 8 and just had a blast! We couldn't even see our picnic table because the snow was higher than the top of the table. I dug awesome caves in the front yard. Nobody could go to work because people had trouble even finding their cars because the snow also drifted, LOL! We're predicted to get 18 inches here, but again, I just doubt it. Everybody's pretty sure there will be a snowday for schools, but of course Tyler's at his dad's this week, so I don't get the snowday with him. :headache: HOWEVER, if we get the predicted 18 inches, I will certainly have a snowday because I won't be able to get to work because even if I shovel the driveway, I'd never get down the road in my little Toyota. :rotfl2: And when we get more than 6 inches, the snowplows can barely keep up the main roads, so neighborhood streets don't get plowed for at least a day. This could be very exciting! Looking forward to it! :yay:
