This view of the DREAM accentuates the narrowness of the upper structure to me. Anyone else notice? I wonder why they did it this way. The white suprastructure of the MAGIC and the WONDER are much more like the width of the dark hull it seems.

Thanks for posting all the links. It is great to sit home with grey skies and snow flurries out the window, a blanket on my lap feeling far away from ocean and have some DCL videos and websites to browse. I am getting nothing productive done however

Did anyone get a good picture of the MAGIC at Aruba? I have some shots from downtown of the bow and the stern but not the whole ship with the town in the foreground or the ship in the background.

I am doing a presentation in a couple weeks about out trip and thought that would be a fun perspective to show. If no one has one, I can certainly live without it though.

Did you ever read the post from someone asking how they control all the people so that the ship stays upright? He actually thought that people had to be told where to stand and when so that the ship did not tip over.

It's official after much agonizing, we've decided to cancel the LA repo and Alaska.

It came down to me just not having enough vacation days with the new job. I just couldn't see taking 12 vacation days after only being in my new job for a bit over my 90 day probation.

Its bittersweet because while I've decided to cancel I am so, so much better off being out of my former company and away from the living hell they made my life for 2010. It was worth many times these cruises.

There are definitely going to be other cruise opportunities.

I'm also keeping the 10% discount by moving the 2 reservations to dummy dates.

You will be missed Sara and Trevor were looking forward to meeting you both...we will definately meet up again some day You did the right thing for you and that's what counts. I'm so glad the new job is making such a positive influence in your life and how you feel

OMG that ship is big. Seeing the Dream right next to the Wonder really makes it obvious. The Wonder looks like the Dream's little baby. I can't wait to get onboard. We leave in two weeks from this weekend. YEAH!!!

She is an honorary Thief and is certainly welcome to sit with us. I think the only way she can have dinner with just you and Tyler would be to not use the dining room. There are other alternatives....with just you, there's Palo....with you and Tyler there's room service or any of the on deck food service places or the Beach Blanket buffet. You may want a change from all the gourmet foods.

Cheri posted on Facebook that it was too choppy to stop at Castaway Cay. Somehow that makes it doubly sad for me that the WONDER did not get one last dip in the CC waters. It fits with the oddity of us being on the WONDER for Alaska without a stop at Castaway Cay since it is not in the Pacific. Odd

We are hoping to take DGS to Alaska with us. He went on the western with us 4 years ago. He asked at dinner tonight if we would get to go to Castaway Cay. Sadly, no....he was disappointed too.

You, your Mom and Tyler can do lunches together at any number of places and then dinners with the linked table friends. They are now letting kids club staff come to the diningrooms and get kids to go back to the club so if Tyler is interested in that option, he may not want to be at dinner very long anyway. (Not sure if this option is offered for both seatings or only late seating though.)

I have been trying to find a good picture saved somewhere that I can copy but can't. The youtubes we have seen and the stuff on the DCL site seem to show the verandas on the DREAM are indeed set back so that people will be able to lean over and looking down on the tops of the lifeboats. The white suprastructure is definitely narrower than on the MAGIC or WONDER.
