Ok... you get one room... Shannon gets the rest of the house!

And speaking of decorating.. .I dragged mom to the Stickley showroom the other day... that's the really really nice mission style furniture (you know the kind in the lobby of the Grand Californian...)

I picked out a really expensive buffet for a house I don't own yet....

http://www.stickley.com/OurProducts...Mission&cat1=90&view=all&view=complex&finish=

It looks better in person... it's sort of the kind of piece you find in museums... all hand made... inlay... etc...

Or I could buy a car... for about the same price...:lmao:

Oh, Michelle, that will look lovely in the house you don't own yet!

Thanks Angie...

It's sort of a hobby... decorate homes I don't have...

And no... I can't be a decorator... I'm not really that good at it... :rotfl:

What's actually pretty funny is we looked back at the pic we did for New Year's Eve 2008/2009 and Kaleigh is wearing the same outfit - but her belly isn't showing.

And you have had a shave since then too Ken!!!!

I do love the annual pic, you should keep up that tradition. Though don't have Kaleigh in the same outfit when she is 14 will you?

back from benny at olivers... :goodvibes

taking a few minutes to catch up with the world...

Tell Marilyn to keep packing.... :goodvibes;)

and then I have to deconstruct Christmas... the tree is coming down today...

I love how around this time all the christmas trees become tumbleweeds down the street...:rotfl:

Ian...

Are you back out there helping people get healthy 1/2 lb at a time???:thumbsup2

I think I'll be taking ours down a little each day this week. I'll be happy to see it all gone because the tree is where our dining table & chairs go. Getting tired of eating on the coffee table in front if the couch.

I stopped packing about 7 hours ago! We are at the airport hotel now. All relaxed - well almost!

I never stopped. One of my members hit 160 lbs (72.75 Kg) lost so far and another hit 80 lbs (36.4 Kg) lost so far.

We also had a line quite literally going out the door this morning with people registering.

This is Frank, my cousin Donna's husband. We were at his and Donna's house. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pics of Donna. I don't know how that happened.

The only ones missing in the pictures are me and John and my cousin Donna.
But we had a great time. After opening presents we were all singing kerioke on the Wii while playing drums and guitar. The bubbly and food was plentiful. After midnight we lit off fireworks. Everyone had a lot of fun.

How exciting!! I hope you have a great time and that you don't have any airport delays. Keep us informed when you can about what you're up to. Hugs to Cheri from us and back to you again.

I think I'll be taking ours down a little each day this week. I'll be happy to see it all gone because the tree is where our dining table & chairs go. Getting tired of eating on the coffee table in front if the couch.

Ours is a two footer in a pot. All we have to do is take off the little ornaments and little lights that it came with and we're done. But we won't do that until after John's birthday next week.

Happy New Year!!

From our house to yours. May 2011 be nothing but terrific for you and yours!
We are sooo looking forward to seeing many of you once again this year!

Our pics for this year...

I loved this so much I had to post it again. Awesome!!!

Happy New Year All!

I have been pretty quiet for a few months. More perhaps.

What a year 2010 was! A good portion of it for me was truly horrible. Work was a nightmare, and even that is understating it. It caused me to be sick, get taken to the hospital and endless other problems. I never realized just how much stress and unhappiness could have such an impact.

My job and work virtually consumed the year.

Happily also 2010 was a case of all's well that ends well. I found a new job, a bunch of dear friends came to share Thanksgiving with us. All this happened in just the last 6 weeks of the year.

I've been in the new job for a month, and I'm very, very happy.

On a somewhat positive note, my experience with the NY company did reset or lower my yardstick (metre stick for our friends to the north) for measuring just how toxic a work culture can be. It has really made me appreciate my new environment.

Also in the last month of the year, Illinois passed a civil union bill. Not quite marriage, but it offers us further protection in our home state, which does not recognize our California marriage status.

This is sad, but reality. It was a point driven home to me when I started my new job and they refused to recognize our marriage license. I had to fill out legal affidavits for the company for our "domestic partnership" something that they do not require of other couples with out of state marriage licenses.

This means we're going to get hitched again, this time in Illinois and are starting to plan another wedding.

So, now the new job, the wedding has thrown all of our vacation plans up in the air and we have to reassess some of our cruises.

Oh well, the best laid plans of mice and men often go astray, but I'm thrilled because instead of being disrupted due to bad things, they're being disrupted due to good things.

I also want to thank you my friend, for having given me so much moral support throughout 2010.

May 2011 bring everyone much happiness, good health and dreams come true.

So happy for you that things in life have turned around for the best. You bet that me and John will be there for the wedding with bells on!!!

BTW Kathe - if you click on the word "Photoalbum" in my signature it will take you to a webpage I have set up where I put most of my pics - even more than what I post on Facebook. I try and update this more regularly and with more pics than Facebook and it is where I often link pics on here from.

:thumbsup2 I'll be checking them out from time to time, thanks Ken!

And you have had a shave since then too Ken!!!!

Deb, thanks for sharing your pics too! I'm glad you enjoyed the holidays :santa:

Marilyn-have a great vacation :cool1:

Jackie-get rid of all those cold bugs NOW, there'll be none of that in April/May ;)

I was up at 5:00 this morning for work, and thought I heard someone at my door around 5:30  I'm always very nervous when someone comes knocking really early or really late. By the time I got to the door and was peeking out the window, they were gone. I then noticed someone at the door of my neighboor's across the street and that they were on the phone.Within minutes there were about 6 fire engine/rescue trucks, several police and an ambulance  My neighbours next door had a fire in their basement caused by their electrical panel :scared1: I feel bad for them, they've only owned the house less than a year, just a young couple. I couldn't convince them to come inside where it was warm, but she did accept a coat and gloves. They got their dog out but had been unable to find her cat. Hopefully the cat was just hiding and is okay. Eventually they moved some of the emergency vehicles for me(they were blocking my driveway) so I could get to work. Not a good way to start the New Year...makes me very thankful...thankfully they had smoke alarms, because that is what woke them!

Marilyn & Cheri, have a wonderful time in the cruise! :goodvibes

Deb, nice pics, sounds like you had a great time. :thumbsup2

Ken, I created a dropshots account too after seeing your pics there for so long. I like the lifetime price for unlimited pics. Now I just need to work on getting all my pics transferred. :)

Wow, how scary! I'm glad they're OK and hope the cat was just hiding. Thank goodness for smoke alarms.
